About this house rental
Summary:
This vintage bungalow is in St. Vincent Historic District, within walking distance to waterfront restaurants, amenities and a world class ferry service to San Francisco and a short drive to the world-renowned Wine Country. Renovated by award-winning architects, this original tiny house is your home away from home, while enjoying affordable 5-star premium boutique experience! The owners are mom-and-pop, all time Superhosts with over 600 nearly 5-star reviews. We welcome you all!
The Space:
The historic Bungalow, the original tiny house of 700 square feet area of space is ample for up to 4 guests. Again, fully renovated for modern convenience but keeping all historic charm intact. The bungalow has one-bedroom, walk-in closet, one bath (Jack and Jill) with a claw foot tub, large eat in kitchen, laundry/pantry room and a cozy comfortable living room. A private outdoor area with seating is available for your use. There is other outdoor seating for larger groups. Stylish furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen await to show off your culinary talent. The porch, deck or front steps of the property is a wonderful place for you to hang out and watch the sunset over the Napa River, it is quite stunning.
There are dedicated AC window units in both the living room and the bedroom. The Bungalows have heating and cooling, unlike some Victorians.
Boutique Bungalows have over 600 nearly 5-star reviews! Our reviews speak for itself, but I can attest, our Boutique Bungalows are at the top-top-tier accommodation for any short-term rentals and hotels available in the area and the region. For its premium offer at affordable budget, value is stupendous!
Here are what guests are saying: “immaculate, stylish, cozy, kitchen with all imaginable tools, most comfortable and cozy bed, all with exceptional hospitality of host who responds quickly.” For all that, Bungalows are an affordable option to costly Wine country accommodations. 99% of guests rate the value five stars. Many are also surprised by how close the wineries are, and as I have highlighted, guests agree that it is a “great jumping-off point” to what the Bay Area offers.
Waterfront Weather: The microclimate of the bungalows is an enjoyable place to stay. It is +/-15 degrees cooler with its waterfront breeze in summer thanks to the proximity to the Bay. In winter, it also has a moderating effect on the chill factor.
One guest exclaimed, “this was the most relaxing vacation I had in 25 years,” sitting under a shade looking at the Napa River right from the property (BB3).
Bungalow Two has a private dedicated car park right next to the unit.
Guest Access:
Each Guest/group have access to their entire freestanding bungalow, affording complete privacy. Unlike 90% of STR in the area, our Bungalows are fully detached, charming houses with each having its own private yards and views to the Napa River from the Property grounds.
Contactless Checkin-Checkout: The entry door is equipped with a private access code for Your use only. You can check in and check out at your own pace anytime. Please ring a bell if you forget your code or have any issues, and we can help.
The Neighborhood:
The historic St. Vincent district is peppered with beautiful historic Victorians, including one famous Julia Morgan building. The Boutique Bungalows were part of the worker housing for the Mare Island Shipyard. It is vintage and charming to boot. All Bungalows were renovated for modern convenience but keeping its character in tact. Live in history and try out these original tiny houses! A quick walk down to the Ferry Terminal with service to San Francisco and the SF Giants Ballpark, Saturday Farmers Market, numerous waterfront restaurants & bars, walkways, and nature trails. Walking distance is Mare Island with its outdoor Breweries, wine tasting rooms, and historical shipyard and officers mansions worth taking a tour. The ferry ride across the Bay is an absolute treat in itself. Leave your car and hop on a Ferry; for couples, it is a much better way to visit San Francisco. Vallejo is famous for its waterfront festivals(Pirates, Vintage Car Shows ++), Sear Point Raceway, Six Flags Amusement Park, and a gateway to this beautiful Bay Area. Treat Bungalows as your jumping-off point to Marin, East Bay, San Francisco, and VA hospitals in Fairfield. Only a short ride to the world-famous wineries and San Pablo Bay Wildlife Sanctuary for fantastic bird watching. And for trivia, Vallejo was the original capital of California!
Getting Around:
Centrally located, Vallejo is an excellent hub for your Bay Area attractions with easy access to Sonoma/Napa wineries, North and East Bays, and San Francisco. You have quick access to major highways via HWY 37, Interstate 80, Interstate 780, and direct ferry services. You could forgo a car if you opt to. I would recommend renting a car for families and people who wait 5 minutes for the nearest parking spot kind of person.
Bungalows are accessible via automobile, ferry, Bart, Bus, and Uber/Lyft.
Note: Even though Bungalows are located walkable distance to major transit options, I recommend having a car for grocery shopping and other site seeing in those days you need to rent cars. If you are a family of three and above, renting a car is highly recommended.
Other Things to Note:
FREE Parking: There is plenty of unrestricted street parking immediately in front of Bungalows. There are no parking rules: unlike any other cities in the Bay Area.
FREE WIFI: Fast Xfinity/Comcast Wi-Fi for guests: 225 MPS speed.
Sofa Bed: Please inform us of any two-guest reservation that requires sofa bedding. Sofa bedding comes automatically for three + guests. For two guests not using the main bed together, please inform us.
Sofa Mattress: 4" thick memory foam bed for comfort.
Pack and Play: If you need the pack and play, for children under 36" tall, please inform us no later than 72 hours (about 3 days) before check-in. Booking time is the best for asking for the pack and play. If you forget, I must charge $25 for the setup fee.
Bedding/Linens: I am a linen snob. Nothing in our Bungalows is polyester or microfiber. All 100% cotton single ply long staple yarns for bed sheets and 100% cotton turkish towels only.
Cleanliness is Godliness: Cleanliness is the top priority of other premium features we provide. IE luxurious bathrobes. Our cleaning fees reflect living wages for our hard-working cleaners creating jobs for locals.
Contact less Checkin and Checkout: So easy! The door code is your last four digit of your phone number activates at agreed checkin time and deactivates 11:30 AM checkout date.
Checkout Instructions: We do not ask guests to conduct laundry list of chores before they leave! We are easing COVID rules, and all guests must do is put away dirty dishes or soak dirty pans. This is if you used them at all. This is to aid cleaners for a quick turnaround so other guests can check-in earlier if necessary.
Bungalows: Bungalow one is styled mid-century modern,
Bungalow two is French Cottage, and Bungalow three is French Provence.
They are separate freestanding little houses on one large lot with ample outdoor space in between. Located on the hill overlooking the Bay, it provides relaxing views, but you need to climb stairs.
Quiet and Peace: Many guests cannot believe how peaceful and quiet our neighborhood is. So close to the Marina but far away enough for any traffic noise or commercial traffic.
Interaction with Guests:
I am available for any questions as they arise. There is also a guest information manual in the home, listing attractions in the area. I live near by where I can be available for any emergencies.

Perfect little cottage for stay in Vallejo. Well appointed kitchen. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Will definitely stay here again when I’m visiting Vallejo.

Sweet little house, perfect for the two of us with engagements in Napa and American Canyon.
The house was well appointed, private, charming and comfortable. Parking space, wine and coffee/snacks from our host were a welcome bonus!

We stayed at the Waterfront Boutique Bungalow in March 2023. The bungalow we stayed at is at the rear of the property and is as advertised. We had no issues and communication was good. Bed was comfortable and overall a quiet stay though nearby street noise can be quite loud at times.
Check in was flawless, furniture was clean and in good working order. The three bungalows could use a bit of maintenance (paint, gate repair, some yardwork) but nothing was broken and all functioned as it should.
All in all, a good stay in a decent part of Vallejo, which can be hard to find!

I wanted a quiet and comfortable place. Parking was easy, access was easy and it was quiet. Close enough to downtown Napa to go for a nice dinner. Mare Island was interesting and our visit to St. Peter’s church was enlightening. Not much to the town itself. Overall a pleasant experience.

I’ve stayed at this cozy bungalow before and it’s always clean and comfortable. It’s located in a very convenient part of Vallejo within walking distance to the Ferry to San Francisco. Highly recommended.

This was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. Comfortable, peaceful and clean. Everything was perfect!

Wonderful hosts. Cute very comfortable bungalow, old but updated in the important areas. It is in an old neighborhood with some less than desirable structures. Once you get used to the location, it really is very conveniently situated. Close to Napa, expressways to most ant area of interest and within a mile of the ferry to San Francisco.

We had a great time here. Vallejo is a good central location to explore the bay area. Will stay here again.

The inside has been decorated and updated nicely. The outside needs painting, screens on the windows and front, replacement windows and some kind of insulation to help with heat retention. Even on a 78 degree day the house was very hot when we returned. We left a hot foothill area for a break. Outside wasn't too bad but inside took hours to cool off.

Good experience overall. Easy check in and out/clean up policy. Just be aware that 99.9% of local restaurants and bars close at 9 pm.

Great location
This is our second time staying at the bungalows. We found it to be a great location and super comfortable!
The bungalow is very clean and the host has thought of all the little extras. Check in is super easy and communication was easy with fast responses. When in Vallejo we would definitely stay again.
Just a wonderful ferry ride to San Francisco or an easy drive to Napa/Sonoma from this centraly located property

Wonderful little bungalow
We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. The location was perfect. We walked to the ferry for San Francisco, and it's a short drive to Napa. There is also plenty to do an see nearby.
The property itself was clean and well maintained. Our bungalow had private off-street parking, which was really nice.
The owner was responsive and helpful with any questions we had or issues. I.e. we had the wrong combo for the lock, but it was resolved in minutes.

Cute Little Bungalow Close To Mare Island
We had a wonderful time is this little place. Owners were very accessible and responsive. The Saturday Farmers Market was delightful and we highly recommend the distillery on Mare Island. Wine tasting in nearby Suisun Valley reminded me of what Napa was like in the 70's. Quaint, rustic and great wines.

Perfect retreat in NorCal!
What a wonderful home base this was for my recent escape! I just love northern CA and after much searching chose the Boutique Bungalow!
The house itself was beautiful… super clean and co
Fun! Bed was perfect and the snacks and wine were a bonus! Was a relief to have my own parking and the owner reached out to make sure everything was as expected.
Ithe location was perfect my excursions both up and down the coast and it was a winderd ‘home away from home’.
Hopefully I will be back in the area again and I will be sure to seek out the bungalow for my next trip to Vallejo!

Cute Bungalow
This is my third visit to the Boutique Bungalows and as always I'm impressed. They are immaculately clean, very beautifully decorated and extremely cozy. The bed is very comfortable like a luxurious hotel. Meehyun and Michael are great owners, very responsive and have done a wonderful job with these bungalows. The area seems a little sketchy but I grew up nearby so I know its perfectly fine. Easy and fun to walk to nearby Panama coffee and Mare Island Brewery. Will be back!

Unsafe neighborhood! Not safe to walk to nearby places
Place is adorable BUT We were hungry when we got to property and booklet on the coffee table suggested a couple restaurants close by and “no need to Uber” because they’re within walking distance. We walked to the pizza place suggested and were followed by a man with his hood up and gator-like mask on his face. We turned and stopped walking to see if he’d keep going and didn’t. He stopped with us. Not sure what he was planning on doing to us but left us alone when we called 911. The police officer that brought us back told us, if it was possible, we should stay somewhere else. We left the property right away and got a hotel in nearby American Canyon which the officer also suggested. The homeowner was unwilling to work with us on a refund.

Great stay
This property was very clean and perfect location with proximity to San Francisco and Napa Valley. Meeyhun even left us a bottle of wine. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

They've thought of everything!
My daughter and I stayed at the Bungalow while we were in Napa for her water polo tournament. The location was easy access, and the place was immaculate. The queen size bed was SO comfy and the Braun coffee maker with pods already there was an added treat!
I'd recommend this place to any traveler, single or small family.

Cozy Bay Area Accomodations!
My fiance and I stayed here for three days in September and really enjoyed our time in Bungalow 2! The check-in process was a breeze and the owner was quick with communication - there was an earthquake while we were there (we had no clue lol) and she checked in to make sure we were safe.
The home is well-appointed with everything you might need - comfy beds, bathrobes, snacks, and coffee in the kitchen, plus a bottle of local wine to top off the experience.
The house was SPOTLESS! Even the curtains seemed freshly laundered. As COVID-era travellers, this was very reassuring.
The house is old and therefore has its quirks - while fine for me, the tub was definitely small for my 6'4 partner to shower in, and the AC system works hard to heat the home. All minor things, and not at all negatives, just things to note :)
We hired a car for winery tours on Saturday and found it to be a bit farther than expected from the vineyards we visited, but that was poor planning on our part. If you're new to the Napa area, be aware of the scale of the place - it's HUGE and very spread out.
The recommendations from other guests for Napoli Pizza and Mare Island Brewing were spot on - definitely take advantage if you're staying here!
About an hour to SFO airport.
Thanks to the owners for a great stay!

Nice place with good location near good restaurants!
We stayed here then went to San Francisco and St. Helena! It was a location IVe never stayed and enjoyed it! There are at least two good restaurants nearby which was so helpful (Napoli and the brewery). Nice, clean place.

We are from far Northern Calif and rented two of the 3 houses, the one in the back and one of the two that sit out front over looking the street. Personally, I preferred that our house in the back had it's own parking area and we didn't have to climb the steps (first from the street then up the porch) each time, LOL my feet were killing me from playing tourist. The coded locking system was super easy and convenient AND the location was ideal; central to everything we did during our 3 night stay, One day in San Francisco/Wharf/Alcatraz/Old Firetruck tour (which was really cool). One day in Napa for an awesome picnic at Pine Ridge Vineyards and mud baths in Calistoga, then day 3 we went to Six Flags. The houses are definitely older, which is part of their charm, you'd never know it by much of the inside with a mix of modern such as the appliances while maintaining the historic feel.It was clean! I dribbled some water on the floor and used white paper towels to mop up and I'm not sure I've seen them come up still so pure white from doing that...as a germ-a-phob, I appreciated that I felt comfortable walking barefoot in the house, no nasty carpeting. You could feel a sense of history, we found ourselves wondering what all may have transpired over the years in those houses, who lived there...I even enjoyed the old style windows you slide up in their wooden sills. If I had to point out 3 tiny negatives (trivial really and no impact to our stay) I'd say 1- because the house is old, it does lean downhill to the north a bit, a bottle laid on the kitchen island or the floor does roll LOL but we laughed about it and chalked it up to the age/charm of residence. 2) The tub/shower combo could use a tad more pressure from the rain shower head and the clear liner touches/clings to you a bit while you are showering. 3) I'd like a little bit more counter space or shelves in the bathroom for while getting ready for make up and toiletries...again, super minor not even considered drawbacks but things I may have wanted to know. One other thing unrelated to the houses, it seems the Mare Island Brewery down on the water was a recommended place to eat, all 4 of us didn't really love our dinner; a great upper deck over looking the water for a cold beer but the food we found a bit mediocre. We would definitely rent the Boutique Bungalows again as they were a great deal and a great location.

Great Base for Wine Country
Perfect location for our vineyard hopping through Napa and Sonoma. Parking was simple, recommend a small vehicle as the alleyway is a tight fit. House is exactly as pictured, the tub sits high with no bar to help out but water pressure was great.

Cute bungalow
Cute bungalow in a great location. I gave 4,stars because the place was not clean when we got there so we had to spend a few hours washing all the sheets and disinfecting. The host called a d was very gracious and apologetic. Had that not happened I would rate this place 5 stars.

Vallejo bungalow worked well for us!
We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean with nice contemporary decor. We had everything we needed including iron, hair dryer, fan, and washer and dryer. The property owners were friendly and responsive to our communication. The location was very central for our San Francisco and wine country destinations. The size was perfect for us.

Historic Bungalow & its Garden: Beautiful, Eclectic & Fun
There were four of us, and everyone agreed it was a great place to stay.
A good location to spend a day touring wineries. It was a pleasant drive to Napa.
Opus One & Robert Mondavi were open for tastings with a reservation that can be made online.
Restaurants very nearby at the waterfront were fun and good.
The Dead Fish restaurant across the Carquinez Straight bridge is always incredible.
At the bungalow, the kitchen was roomy & well equipped.
The bedroom had a super comfortable bed with beautiful linens and great pillows. The sofa bed worked well for our guests.
Being springtime, we got to spend time in the bungalow's garden...perfect weather and lots in bloom.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay & would choose this VRBO again.

Beautiful, cozy cottage
Beautifully decorated, spacious one-bedroom with nice bath and kitchen. Great bed and linens! Quiet. Sun-filled. Nice laundry facilities. Parking space next to house and easy access to highways. Just a couple block walk to the waterfront promenade. The kitchen isn’t really stocked well for someone who likes to cook gourmet meals, but that truly was the only drawback. The owner was quite responsive and easy to work with. We hope to be back in the spring.

Perfect Boutique Bungalow
The descriptor "boutique bungalow" is perfect. Everything is right where you want it, the walk to the pier is convenient, directions to the house, entry instructions, all good! Also, a short walk away is the Good Day Cafe which serves amazing breakfasts .. do not miss that!

A lovely bungalow
A quick weekend getaway to San Francisco for a wedding in Sonoma was made perfect by our stay at this adorable bungalow. After tons of research, we are so grateful to have selected this beautiful place, in a great location with parking. The bungalow was immaculate, well designed, modern and very cozy. We loved the porch areas and didn't want for anything, with a well stocked kitchen, linens, comfy bed and household supplies.
We're also used to quiet neighborhoods and we were so grateful for the serenity and close proximity to the water and great restaurants.
The Owners were responsive, helpful and very pleasant throughout the entire process. With surprises upon our arrival we felt so welcomed and didn't want to leave!
We hope to visit again soon!
