About this house rental
Delightful holiday home suitable for two families or mature groups . Interior features polished floorboards, 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms one with a spa bath. Air conditioned.
Two lounge rooms, two dining rooms. We have no wifi but mobile phone hotspot geberally works well. There's a gas barbeque and outdoor setting at the back of the house. This area leads out onto a large grassed area which surrounds the house.
Sleeping arrangements: 2 queen bed rooms and three bedrooms each with two single beds. We also have two folding beds.
The house is in a great location right on Avoca Lake and a minute's walk from the beach.
The house is very safe - it's all on one level, well off the street (which is a cul de sac) and borders on the park which surrounds the lake. There is lots of off street parking for 6-8 cars if necessary. The back area with the BBQ and outdoor setting is fully enclosed for the safety of children.
Fantastic Access to Avoca Beach
It takes less than 2 minutes to reach Avoca Beach. Head along the lakeside (5 minutes) to the shops & restaurants of Avoca. Walk along the beach to Avoca (South) surf life saving club, shops & cafe.
An easy walk past Avoca Lake to Avoca Shops
It is only a short walk (1 minute) to fantastic views and waterside access to Avoca Lake. Enjoy views of the lakeside wetlands from the bedrooms and living areas.

We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and lake. How easy it was to have a bigger family trip.

Great location within walking distance to the beach. It is a older house but it was clean and we had no major issues and it met our requirements. Small quality gas BBQ in the back yard. We had a great holiday.

House location close to beach and lagoon was a plus. The bathrooms were extremely old dirty on arrival. Both shower heads needed replacement as water flow terrible. Also toilet flush buttons sticks continue running. Bbq gas empty on arrival.
Neighbour blocked driveway with garbage bins every day very annoying to your guest getting in property.

Nothing is perfect, but the property was perfect for a relaxed family celebration 🎉

The house location cannot be beaten - quiet, short walk to beach, shops and dining options, and it was plenty big enough for our group of 6.

The drawcard for this property is being able to walk to a dog-friendly beach in about 3 minutes! The house and furnishings are in need of some TLC, and a really thorough clean. The upside of everything being older is that with kids we weren't paranoid about things getting damaged! It's a shame you can't open any windows as it can get a little stuffy in the house. The proximity to the beach and lake, however, meant we spent a lot of time outdoors. The house was a good size for 2 families and our Dad, and it was good to be able to separate the 2 ends of the house with the double doors. Bill was very accommodating and communicated well, and we appreciated the towels being supplied and beds made up for an extra fee.

Well located house in a quiet street super close to the lagoon and beach. The house is well sized internally and tidy enough. It doesn't have a huge amount of bells and whistles, but it was well priced so can't expect the world.

The property is in an excellent location - right opposite Avoca Lake and an easy walk to cafes and shops in both North Avoca and Avoca. It's perfect for a dog friendly family. The house is spacious and clean and the kitchen is really well equipped. It is mostly an original 80's house with basic furniture but is ideal for a no frills relaxing beach holiday. The ceiling fans and air conditioning are great and very welcome because most windows cannot be opened.

A nice holiday home for family and pets. Could do with a bit more cleaning and an additional AC as there was only one which is not enough on hot days . That said, my grandsons and dog had a great time there ,

The house is in the best location a min walk to the beach and lake . The only problem is the house was dusty in the bedroom specially the blinds on the room and underneath the beds I suffered asthma during my stay for 2 nights . The bathrooms didn’t have enough toilet paper we had to go and find shops that are open on Christmas Day to get one . The two kitchen one stove are not working every time we have to cook we have to go all the way to the front door kitchen to cook and all of the appliances for cooking are in the other kitchen .the bed is really soft and the spring make noises .

We had a terrific two week stay in Dec/January with a multigenerational family group. The property was as pictured/advertised. The location is terrific. The house is of an older style but the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and basic items such as salt oil sugar, plastic bags, cleaning products etc etc. The laundry(s) were great. The check in process was easy. The fold out beds proved useful. The fans and aircon were brilliant in hot weather.
The pegs had deteriorated on the clothes line, so bring your own pegs. The extra parking spaces were great.
It’s a big house with good ventilation but some things could do with more cleaning, however, this did not detract from our enjoyment.
This place is great for families because you can hire kayaks, SUPs or pedal boats on the lake. The ocean is also only a short easy walk away and the house is all on one level.

Great location near the beach and walking tracks . Backyard was great for kids and dog to run about. Kitchen well stocked and easy to use.
The bedrooms right off the living area is not a usual layout.
There was plenty of heating in both living area and bedrooms.
Having two bathrooms was essential for a large family group.

House was in a great location next to lake and beach. Very clean, well stocked house with everything we needed. Older style house which needs a bit of work.

Bill's property is the perfect size for a group of 10 looking for a quiet getaway. Being in the middle of a quiet neighbourhood & backing on to the inlet, it was a lovely little area for the family to spend our New Years! The property needs a bit of work - the bathrooms are a little bit old and the screen door at the back doesn't close - but that aside it was great. For pet owners, keep in mind that the back yard is not fit for small dogs (we took our little cavoodle and she almost got through the fence!) but for medium-large size dogs, the backyard is great.Thank you to Bill for being so responsive to our questions, we hope to book again one day! :)

The house is big with plenty of space for everyone. The best resourced kitchen I've stayed in. The bathrooms need some work. The newer bathroom had poor water pressure and the older bathroom although clean enough was disappointing. No towels, soap and only two back up toilet paper rolls. The outdoor area has so much potential, but is currently looking neglected with outdoor furniture that looks like it might collapse. I felt the accomodation was overpriced in its current state, but would be an amazing holiday spot with a facelift

The key lock number wasnt sent with the email which cause a bit of stress, but Bill was prompt and called back within 10 mins. House was comfy and relaxed, had a good feel and a short walk to the lake. Kids loved picking mulberries from the bush outside.

location is fantastic and the house has everything you need for 2 or 3 families. We had a great time. It was lovely to be able to bring the family dog along. The property however is looking a bit tired and dated. The hose in the back garden did not work so no place to rinse off after beach so things got a little sandy! Fortunately it’s floorboards throughout. The mattresses could do with being updated and the bathrooms need a real deep clean or a minor reno

With four kids, this house was great
Big enough for the kids to have one living room while the other one was ours.
Close to the beach and just a walk over to avoca.
We will be booking again
Thankyou to Bill for emailing back quickly with any inquiries I had.

The house was fantastic for us as a multi generational family group. We had plenty of room and the space worked really well. A 3 day game of Monopoly could be set up and not be in anyone's way.
The house could do with a really thorough clean (greasy rangehood etc) and spiderwebs everywhere but it was fine.
The kitchen was really well stocked. Lots of crockery, cutlery and glass-wear. There were loads of platters and salad bowls and they were very appreciated.
The BBQ was dirty when we got there but once that was cleaned, we used it every day. Appreciated having the second back up gas bottle on hand.
IMO the beds are too bulky for the spaces that they are in - big, heavy wooden beds with bedheads and ends really took up a huge amount of space in each bedroom when the rooms are not large (sporting a few bruises lol).
There isn't really any storage for clothes, so you need to live out of your bags.
The owner, Bill, was very responsive to our messages.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the beach and would happily return.

The location of the property is fabulous. Just 30 sec walk to the beach and not far from cafes and shops.
The house is quite spacious. The interiors are a little dated but because we were after something affordable and not so luxurious so it was perfect for us!

This house accommodated 5 teens, 4 adults and 2 dogs with ease. The house is not flash but there was definitely enough space for all of us. The bed mattresses are thin but comfortable enough. Make sure you bring bath towels, bath mats, hand towels, bed sheets and pillow cases. The sliding doors in the bedrooms are difficult to open and several fly screens are missing or broken but we weren’t bothered by mosquitoes. The freezer wasn’t working well - ice cream was sloppy. The beach is only meters away and cafes in Avoca can be walked to if the tide is low. Bill was amazing responding to all my emails immediately and allowed us to check in early and out late. Thanks Bill.
