An authentic lovely place to start your discovery of Tunis!

Beautiful B&B in the center of the Medina. Traditional spacious rooms and a marvelous rooftop terrace. Extensive tasteful breakfast while you can admire the design of the roof and walls around you.

Maybe a small remark is the quite small bed, but nothing more than that.

Awesome, authentic and convenient for the medina.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great. The rooms and overall aesthetic of the building was really cool especially the rooftop. There’s lots of little enclaves with rooms that are very comfortable and overall I really enjoyed my stay.

I do feel that the rooms could use some more tender loving care, some furniture were slightly damaged or had a stain(the couch on my balcony had a stain).

A magical welcome to Tunisia

Our stay at Dar Ben Garcem was simply wonderful. From the moment we were greeted by Rhouma to our final minutes talking to the owner, Leila Ben Garcem, we were impressed by the attentiveness and warmth of the staff. Our room was beautifully appointed in traditional decor and the Dar, after being meticulously renovated in 2019, is now cared for beautifully. Our bed was firm but comfortable; breakfasts were fulsome and fresh, and everything was assidulously cleaned. We particularly loved the rooftop terrace - it was just gorgeous. Particular thanks to Leila, Rhouma, Chedley & Yusuf. This is a hidden jewel in the medina!

We wished our stay could have been longer!!!

Très agréable séjour d'une nuit dans un hôtel au charme de l'ancien.

Emplacement parfait pour visiter la médina, proche d'une rue avec taxis. Petit déjeuner traditionnel très bon et copieux. La terrasse en roof top est très agréable. Pour manger sur place prévoir de réserver la veille. L'hôtel est une ancienne riche maison traditionnelle rénovée, pour nous c'était parfait mais le charme de l'ancien à forcément des petits revers en particulier en terme d'insonorisation. Je ne conseille pas aux adeptes du confort moderne et des hôtels aseptisés.

Petit détail personnel : l'éclairage de la chambre (froid = ampoules blanches à led) mériterait plus d'attention (ampoules plus chaudes, luminaires teintés...) pour donner tout son charme à la pièce le soir.

Très bien et joli.

Hôtel très joli et propre. Personnel serviable. Petit déjeuner tunisien (chakchouka) très bon et copieux (et possibilité de le prendre assez tard). Lors de mon séjour peu avant Noël il y a eu une chorale dans l'hôtel ce qui donnait une touche encore plus chaleureuse.

Pas de parking privé sécurisé même si possibilité de se garer dans les rues autour. Quartier pas rassurant quand on rentre tard le soir. Pas d'eau chaude après 21h (restrictions dues au manque d'eau à Tunis ce qui est compréhensible mais il serait mieux d'être prévenu avant de prendre une douche froide à minuit).

Una notte alla Medina

Sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita da questo Dar nel cuore della Medina e dal rapporto qualita'/prezzo. Ho apprezzato molto la pulizia della camera. Il bagno aveva una doccia molto grande ed era molto pulito. Inoltre, la terrazza con vista sui tetti di Tunisi 'e da non perdere!

Magiskt ställe mitt i medinan.

Otroligt trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Väldigt vacker byggnad som känns som ett museum. Fantastiskt utsikt på taket över hela Medinan och böneutrop är en väldigt häftig upplevelse därifrån.

A gorgeous gem w/superb hospitality in the heart of the Medina

I LOVED everything about it: excellent location in the Medina - 5-7 minutes to all best sights and restaurants; very cute and stylish rooms, excellent A/C (hugely important when it’s 43C / 110F outside), stunning sunsets from gorgeous rooftop, home-made breakfast of kings served in the dining room made for kings, superb service from kind and professional staff. They really go out of their way to help you - I even got walked by Feta, a cleaning lady, to hammam and the hotel paid for me as I had no cash - and just added it to my bill.. Very thankful for everything. The best experience one could have on the first encounter with beautiful Tunisia. 10+ hospitality. 🧡

A gem of beauty and hospitality in the heart of the Medina

I loved my stay at this lovely riad. All the rooms are well-appointed (we had two) and spacious (for a riad); the breakfast was unreal, and the dining room itself was from a fairytale. The rooftop offers more comfort and stunning sunsets. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

Un séjour enchanteur !

L’emplacement au coeur de la mėdina et l’histoire de ce dar plein de charme. Un endroit privilégié hors du temps où nous nous sommes sentis accueillis avec tant de gentillesse, d’attentions délicates dans un décor merveilleux. Chaque instant fut savouré grâce à la discrétion de nos hôtes, nous avons pu aller de pièce en pièce, d’étage en étage, nous reposer et savourer la tranquillité de la terrasse dans une solitude bienvenue après des heures à découvrir les merveilles de cette médina. Les petits déjeuners savoureux et servis avec tant de délicatesse nous ont subjugués… Merci à notre hôte et à toute son équipe qui nous ont offert un séjour inoubliable !

C'est pas mal !

- petit-déjeuner au top, très varié (orientale et continentale) et frais - très grande chambre et salle de bain - peignoir, serviette et drap de bain fournis - lit et canapé propre - les employés sont à notre service - le prix est correct

- serrure de la porte difficile à fermer et à ouvrir. Les gérants se sont excusés - odeur des poubelles quand on mange le petit-déjeuner, pas terrible de nettoyer à ce moment-là - pas de gel douche, shampoing - la moquette n'était pas très propre, il faut passer plus qu'un gros coup d'aspirateur - la localisation située dans la médina ne permet pas à un taxi d'y pénétrer (techniquement c'est possible, mais comme ils galèrent, ils nous laissent en haut d'un escalier. À nous de descendre avec nos valises, et ça glisse). - restaurant à 15 minutes à pied, ne suivez-nous pas Google Maps, suivez ce que le gérant vous conseillent. - le matela fait un peu mal le lendemain... - pour la chambre d'en bas, quand on éteint la lumière, ça éteint tout le système même pour recharger nos appareils, très dommage.

The most amazing guest house in all of Tunis! You won’t find a better rooftop terrace in the area! Super close to the main souk, and the staff are absolutely delightful! We were always well looked after and enjoyed spending every moment inside this delightfully decorated property. A MUST STAY!

Lovely place if you don't mind the hassle with taxis

Lovely property, super helpful staff, great breakfast

While in theory it's great to stay in the medina, in practice it's a bit of a nightmare to get dropped off/picked up by a taxi, particularly with luggage or late at night.

Very central 👌! Situated in the middle of Medina. Very cozy and nicely decorated! Helpful personal 👌. For those who travel by 4x4. There is no private parking next to the hotel, you can park on the road, but is kind of narrow.

Great stay in the middle of Tunis's Medina.

Dar Ben Game Kahia is a wonderful boutique hotel in Tunis's old Medina. The place has great design, in traditional Tunisian style. There's a wonderful rooftop terrace where you can spend time. And we appreciate that the owners support local cultural and social life.

There is nothing to complain about - all was great.
