Fantastic value for money, few mins walk from train station, would defo stay here again .

Few minutes walk to the train station, great value for money and as a solo traveller felt very safe.

Very busy noisy pub but actually this did not impact on my stay !

Brilliant people

Great little business in town centre. Very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for me. Fantastic bar meals, simple but generous, and really fantastic value

Due to central location, safe motorbike parking was a challenge. The staff went to great lengths to sort that for me, however, and they did not need to

Excellent low cost accommodation in a great centre for touring Teesside and the northern regions.

An excellent little establishment just outside the ring road within a few minutes walk of the Toiwn Centre and Bank Top, Darlington's main station. Darlington has good bus services for the present day so visitors can explore much of the North East and North Yorkshire car-less and care-free. A limited menu but fantastic fresh cooked breakfasts and really friendly, staff "prepared to go the extra mile" to deliver real Tesside hospitality.

It'd be churlish to criticise the lack of desk space compared to budget hotel chains at least twice the price! However, Freeview TV, live sports in the bar, very hot water and up-to-date bathroom exemplified hoe the owners have done everything to make their guests comfortable.

Fantastic, friendly, convenient and VFM.

The pub is a traditional local, with friendly staff. The room was clean, the shower worked well and the pricing was spot on. The location is very handy, a short walk to the station, lots of little shops and food outlets within easy reach and only a short walk to Darlington town centre.

Convenient and clean. I expected noise from the bar downstairs but was pleasantly surprised at the relative quietness

No the most salubrious area of town and was worried about the parking but everythinwas ok - a bit of noise from Royal Mail wagons early morning but not too bad

Excellent value for money and very convenient location

I had an extremely comfortable bed bed and being on the top floor meant it was very quiet. The black out blind was also very effective.

Great value spot for a one-night stay

Great value for money for a quick overnight stay in Darlington. Room was spotless and the bed was very comfy. Check-in and out were very easy and there were plenty of options for food/drink close by, and both buses and trains within easy walking distance.

Niggles

• Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was clean and adequate • Electric socket by the bed, very important for medical equipment • Bathroom was clean and well equipped, and no problem with it being seperate, not ensuite.

• The heating was so hot! I had to turn off the radiator and open the window all night, (See point about safety/security strap). And it really hit you when leaving the room, onto the landing/corridor. • The safety/security strap on the window was broken - reported but no action immediately. • No electric sockets near the kettle, which had to be put on the floor to boil, not convenient or safe. • No signal to the TV, reported, told it was because of the weather and nothing could be done. • No one in attendance in the breakfast room, I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to appear, so delayed in making order for full English, and when it arrived it was cold (hadn't been put in the microwave), so by time she reappeared, it was too late to resolve. I also had to deal with a delivery driver, who was also looking for staff. • Poor quality bedding - pillows and duvet, very thin

oh my goodness!!! it was so so lovely!! clean and fresh and looked so good

I could hear footsteps of people walking up the corridor outside my room when I was sleeping but no one was loud or talking, just an old building maybe. it didn’t take away from my enjoyment though
