Polecam 🙂

The best host, food and people! We loved our stay in the camp. If you are looking for a place to stay just choose Wadi Dum Desert Base Camp ;)

Its remoteness. How far removed it is from everything else. Its setting is superb in the dessert to make you feel you are truly in a far away planet.
Availability of shishas for extra charge. Made my night under the blanket of the night sky mystical.
Night lightning lacked mood (warm lights). Standard cold led which are functional for kitchens and bathrooms, but not ideal to convey the cozy feel of a bedouin tent, or the appeal of exoticism of the near orient. They are trying to improve with solar led lanterns but recent rain and floods have washed out many of them.
Additionally, the room lacked a/c (I understand it’s a desert off the grid) but no fan or window that opens (except small) which meant I had to sleep with the door open all night long. The heat was unbearable otherwise. It was July.

We had an amazing time there and the people were so friendly and helpful. We had a great time gazing at the stars with Mohammed. Definitely would recommend the experience!

Staying in the camp was a great experience. The hosts were able to satisfy all the needs I had regarding desert trips. Everyone in the camp was very friendly and helpful. Food served both in the camp as well as during the trips was delicious and there was tea served everywhere with no limits :)
It may not be a good place for someone used to modern, comfy apartments. It's quite cold during the nights, there may be electricity shortage and you need to go fully off-line - but all that allows you to experience something unique and feel that you are in the middle of the desert. Therefore, I consider all that as advantage of this place.

Mr Hillel was verry kind and hospitable. We have enjoyed unforgettable sunset on perfect spot right from the start of our stay. Later, we arrived to a Camp which was well equipped. The dinner was traditional meat vegetable pot cooked underground. It was truly delicious. There was also campfire relaxation with traditional bedouin song. The next day we have experienced jeep tour thorugh the best spots in the desert. The tour was concluded by home made bedouin lunch. We have enjoyed our stay and thus we are resommending Mr. Hillel's services. Great value for the money.
All was good.

The breakfast was very good. the location was good as it was very quiet and away from all the other camps, so no other groups driving through.

We had the time of our lifes!! Location and hospitality were just excelent! Welcoming and kind hosts, who really introduced us to the Bedouin way of life. Very accommodating and attentive. Great communication in English. Hillal and his uncle went out of their way to make us feel like at home. The camp was beautifully located, away from other camps, which made you feel like you were the only one on the dessert. It also had a great ambience, especially in the eveings with all the lights lit up. We added on a full day jeep trip through the desert and a camel ride at sunset, both amazing and VERY memorable. Highly recommended and a must do in my opinion to fully experience Wadi Rum. It was my mother's birthday while there, and Hillal and his crew really made her feel special. There was music, cake, and Happy Birthday sung by all the guests. After which we all had a party with shishas. All super memorable :) THANKS SO MUCH HIllal, we'll definitely be back!
Nothing really :)

Neat and clean, close enough to the village not not take ages to transfer but far away enough to feel ‘wild.’ simple but comfortable. Flushing toilets and functioning showers. The staff were great and were accommodating and attentive.
Nothing really. I would suggest bringing a battery pack for cameras etc because there’s a socket or two to charge from but the my use solar energy so may or may not be helpful when you need them. This is not a problem and is actually very nice providing you have backup.
I would suggest clarifying about prices of activities from the start. we had 30 odd JDs added onto the price of our trip for stuff we hadn’t been made aware of the cost of. I was more than happy to pay it anyway but I’d have liked to know from the outset. for example, we were told camel rides were 15JDs - so three of us went. we expected to pay 45jds - but the cost rise to 20 each because the ‘guide’ came with is. we were driven back from the camel trip and were charged extra but this was not explained beforehand. As I say, I had no problem paying it but I would just rather we had been given straight prices from the outset. it was all awesome and I can’t recommend it highly enough. it’s well worth the effort.

Welcoming and kind hosts, who have introduced us to the Bedouin way of life and attitude . Unforgettable desert experience on the jeep tour organized for us by the host Abdullah! And the kindest Mohammad, who was taking care of the camp and our food. Thank you all very much!

We stayed there for three nights. Be aware that you, once at the camp, are fully dependend of the management there (transportation, water, nutrition, trips, goodwill) and that everything has its price. For example: Day-Trip with 4 WD Pick-up 40 JD + 8 JD lunch / person; accompanied by a guide + 50 JD; Dinner + 10 JD. We recommend to fix the prices in advance by WhatsApp!
For a more comfortable stay/overnight: bring your own sheets!
