Great location
We had a great time in Ventura. This property is a couple of blocks from downtown and a nice walk to the beach.

Location, Location, Location
The location of this condo is fantastic. 15 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to all that downtown Ventura has to offer, and there's a grocery store on the same block.
The secure parking in the underground garage gives peace of mind while the best of California's homeless population is camping outside the gates.
Being from the Mid-West, I did not know what an "art loft style condo" is or was. The dictionary was no help. The host makes it clear that this is an art loft style condo, and perhaps it is, so familiarize yourself with whatever that means in Southern California.
This is not, however, a comfortable stay. The furniture is sparse, almost austere. The kitchen is ample, but the pots, pans, knives, and utensils reminded me of my college bachelor pad. A shopping trip by the host to Ikea would work wonders. I kept cooking to a minimum, but eventually bought my own pan, blender, kettle, and knives. The dishes and cooking utensils that were there were sticky and all required washing before use. There were no hand towels in either bathroom, so I bought my own. Two bath towels rounded out the linens. No spare linens for the bed, and I had to wash the sheets the night I arrived before sleeping.
No curtains, drapes, or blinds. There is a building with second story windows and balcony that look directly into the condo's bedroom and living room, but it appeared to be empty during my stay. When I was working nights, sleeping past sunrise was impossible. The "dresser" in the bedroom is more decorative than useful, so for a month I lived out of my suitcase. I travel for a living, so I'm used to it, but it made me wonder if the person choosing the furnishings had ever stayed in a "regular" house.
All this said, I had a pleasant, although uncomfortable, stay. Do not come here with kids that aren't good with female nudity, as most of the artwork is of nude females. Do not stay here with more than two people, there is no where for a temporary guest to sleep. Do not plan to cook much, and don't feed the homeless, which are everywhere in SoCal.

Great condo
This was the perfect place for me to stay during my contract as a travel nurse. The owner, Timothy, answered my questions right away and was great with communicating. I love the decor and artwork. I would definitely rent here again if the opportunity came up.

Great location
This condo is the perfect location for grocery shopping, restaurants, and the beach. Walking distance to everything I need. It takes 10 minutes to drive to work at VCMC. It’s very clean and comfortable! The property grounds are beautiful and within secure locked gates.

Perfect weekend in Ventura California
Husband and I stayed at Timothy's condo last weekend. Perfectly clean, comfortable and in great downtown location with easy walkability to great cafe (Harvest) As a frequent user of Arbnb and Homeaway, we loved the comforts of this condo. The enclosed private back patio was perfect. Loved Timothy's original works of Art displayed throughout the unit. Looking forward to staying again when visiting family.

Great Owner and Unique Condo!
Timothy was so accommodating and kind. He helped us out when a VRBO we had rented months earlier, was canceled by the host and for that we are sincerely grateful. We stayed here for three weeks. Timothy's condo is in a nice complex of Mediterranean feeling apartments. The complex always felt secure and safe, with locked gates and a clean, secure underground garage, on the west side of Ventura. The bed in the master was very comfortable with soft cotton linens and a nice comforter. The air mattress upstairs was pretty good for an air mattress, according to my teenager. The shower had plenty of hot water. The kitchen worked out fine. It didn't have a lot of gadgets and such, but there were two different nice coffee makers and pots, a great iron skillet, powerful gas stove and large refrigerator and enough plates and cups for the three of us.. I don't think you'll be making a gourmet meal here, but for a vacation it's fine. The living area has a few chairs but no couch or TV (we don't watch TV, so it was fine for us). The place overall was quiet and we could easily make the temperature comfortable with the windows (no screens), fans and A/C. The wifi was fine. Our ATT cell service was spotty, but better if we stepped out in to the courtyard.
This condo is Timothy's home and he is an artist and a musician. The place reflects his interests and his artistic leanings maybe more than you'd find in a VRBO that is furnished primarily for guests. It is definitely unique and might not be ideal for children younger than teens. Also, the steep stairs to the upstairs loft have no railings, so again might not be ideal for children. After calling Timothy's place home for 3 weeks, I would recommend it for travelers who like interesting places and artistic surroundings.Thank you Timothy!!

Easy walk to Main Street and beach
Easy on street parking and short walk to Main Street. 1 mile walk to beach. We are a walking family so that was no problem. Grocery right around the corner. Plenty of food choices and lots of nearby shops. This property is best for adults and not small children. Complex itself was very secure but neighborhood it is in did not feel as safe. Stairs to loft has no railing so not ideal with smaller kids. All in all a very good value for the size of the accommodations.

Nice, but some surprises.
I’ve never stayed in a VRBO where the owner lives in the place… that wasn't mentioned in the listing and it felt a little awkward (i.e. sleeping in his bed). The art is really cool, hip, edgy. I really liked it a lot (!!!!) Innovative and intriguing. Interesting to stay in a place that feels like a gallery. Loved the blue mood lighting. Not a place for kids who shouldn’t touch the art or fall off the stairs with no railing. I loved the high ceilings, big windows and back patio ~ BEAUTIFUL 30’ tall birds of paradise, lush ferns, and chairs for morning coffee. Surprisingly quiet for the busy street it’s on. I was able to find close on-street parking all of the seven nights I was there. Owner reserves (locks) the master bathroom (and washer/dryer in it) for longer-term tenants, but he advised me where local laundromats could be found. Easy walking distance to the Ventura Mission and Main Street thrift stores/bars/restaurants, and Johnny’s Burritos is across the street… famous for decades! Place was mostly nice and clean, and I just put the owner’s food from the fridge into the freezer for when he gets back. It was easy to know which kitchen things were on/off limits because the off-limits cupboards and drawers were either zip-tied or taped shut. I was really glad to have the peace and quiet of no TV… and buying an iron and mini-ironing board worked out fine. GREAT shower with strong water pressure, and fluffy towels.

disappointed...
The location and condo grounds were good for us. The condo was not as good. It was not very comfortable or relaxing. It is set up more as an art gallery than a welcoming home. The kitchen only had one linen towel, which smelled sour. There was no salt, pepper, coffee, etc. There are no window coverings so its light and bright in the morning. There are no railings on the staircase, which is not very wide to begin with and did not feel safe to us at all. The second "queen bed" upstairs is an air mattress with a foam cover and you have to go up and down the unrailed staircase to get to it. Although, there was no cat, the condo smells like cat box and we saw several fur balls. Lastly, My husband got electrocuted when he tried to turn on a light fixture in the living room.

uncomfortable environment
We had 3 children ages 10-14 staying with their parents. There was a general feel of uneasiness from all the artwork throughout the entire place. Unfortunately they only stayed the one night.
