super social, loved the vibe, great chilling and kitchen facilities
the difference between the top bunk and bottom bunks felt prominent

Location is good
I got bad luck with people Incas sharing the room. They were talking and turning on the lights and drink at 3 am — there’s a 11pm rule.
Besides that the kitchen was always dirty, the curtains are not real curtains and the is no space to keep your things safe, only small lockers in the corridor — half broken and half occupied.

The place was beaaaautiful!
Beyond my expectations. The staff was really gentle and welcoming, I wanted to go to a lot a places in Cali and they told me how. The energy is great and the bed perfect to rest. Would come back any day 🖤

It was decent for a night.

Great hostel! Nice vibe, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and free tea/coffee. They are conscious of recycling - best I have seen in a hostel - and provide baskets to take shopping to reduce plastic waste. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially Antonio and Miguel on reception and Marceau the volunteer :) also, they have space in the garden to work out (and even some weights and mats) which is so appreciated in a hostel! Would stay again for sure.

Anthony was the best front desk worker you could ask for. He is a go getter and liked to learn english from me when we would chat. Would definitely do buisness again at the larry pelican hostel.
The mixed dormitory, you definitely need the fan but the mosquitos would come and bite you late night whilenyour sleeping. This was my only complaint about this hostel.

You get what you pay for… We booked here because there were no other hostels available during event… Staff seemed nice but overall really disorganized, not really clean, no hand soap in washrooms, only toilet paper in a few stalls. Quite hot, no airflow in rooms. Overall the place has potential but wasn’t up-kept at all.

Nice hostel. Hammocks and pool table. Staff were great
Showers were either very cold or very hot, kitchen was a bit small for number of guests. Not enough lockers

- nice shared area with hammocks and yoga mats
- great location
- good space to work remote
- good Wi-Fi
- hot water is unstable, but nothing serious
- kitchen is dirty most of the time
- extremely chill and relax. if you want meet other travelers and dance salsa this might not be the best spot

friendly staff, especially the owner. toilets were clean although occasionally without paper :(
a man was masterbaiting in his shared room which the staff did nothing about. the fridge has multiple bits of mouldy food in it. the staff were unable to help with or sort the activities that I wanted to do. breakfast is 7:30-9 but the eggs are cooked for 7:30 then left cold for anyone who comes later.
3.5
location and the friendly staff, lots of area to hang out
breakfast want that great, small portion of eggs or cereal. the pool is the dirtiest pool I’ve ever seen but they were cleaning it and changing the water when I was there. kitchen in need of a serious clean

Cool little place very close to all the restaurants. Very friendly owner with lots of local information. I only stayed one night but felt I got to know Cali through the walking tour led by a friend of his. Bottom bunks are better as they have curtains!
Nothing

Great location in a trendy neighbourhood and walking distance to downtown and around.
Staff were rude except (specially guy with long hair) Ceasar. Quiet time rule was not enforced. I booked the private room to get a good sleep for the couple of times I had to get up really early. That was a waste, since it's right besides the courtyard where loud old "guests" drink and talk loudly every night. Everyone smoked wherever they wanted, including staff. Poor kirtchen area. No hot showers in the lower bathrooms, only the 2 on the upper floor would work.

This hostal is one of my favourites in Colombia. I like the vibe, the people, facilities and coffee all day long! I was leaving Cali twice, returning after couple of days and always choosing The Pelican!

Got lots of bed bug bites, the price looks attractive, the stress afterwards isn't worth it

Location was good, and personal is quite friendly
Worst hostel that we have been visit in Colombia, room was dirty, towels, pillows, were so filthy, really disgusting, showers were flooded of water during the day, another repulsive aspect.
If you are not comfortable with cannabis don’t visit this place smell to marihuana the whole day, at the night used to be noisy and all the place is full of mosquitos, the breakfast is really bad.
At the end is a place that allows you to do anything you want to do, so if you are going to go with children avoid this place

I have stayed for a short time, but can guarantee that the stuff is very friendly and wellcoming.
If you look for a cozy, not too fancy and overpolished option, with music at the evenings (but not after 11 p m ), and breakfast at the big common table, go for it.
As I was told, the hostel was closed for a while, but deffinetely worth of revival.

The property itself has all the things you need. They have a kitchen, a spacious dining area, a front porch, booths to sit and eat work done on the front lawn, a community room with salsa lessons, a living room with TV and Netflix, and several hammocks. Their breakfast is pretty awesome. They cook to order your eggs and toast along with a good supply of fruit, coffee, and dry goods. What’s really unique is that your eggs are in a basket with your name on them. So, there’s very little risk of being left with no eggs (unless you wake up past breakfast hours). The bed was a little too firm for my taste, but it was still comfortable enough for me to sleep comfortably. The location was great! About a 10 min walk to the main bus lines and 30 min walk to the terminal.
They have a resident cat on the property by the way. It was therapeutic being able to pet the cat from time to time, but not be good for someone who is allergic.
There wasn’t enough ventilation in the rooms. I was in a dorm and then in a private room. Both got really stuffy fast even though I was by myself.
The biggest issue for me though was the smoking on the property. They say that they have designated smoking areas, but in reality, every exterior of the hostel is a smoking area. My impression of a “designated smoking area” is that it’s away from the dorms/rooms and common areas, but the openness of the hostel makes it so the smoke trickles into the rooms, the living room, and kitchen. You can’t even eat in peace without someone smoking because the dining area is also outside. I have debilitating chronic migraines and cigarette smoke is huge trigger for me. It was nearly impossible to avoid the smoke(rs). I ended up staying in my room a lot when I was on-site, but that didn’t matter either. The smoke lingered into my room even when I had the window closed and put a rug to cover the small opening on the bottom of the door. It’s sad because everything else about the hostel was wonderful. The smoking soured my experience enough for me to not come back.
