Great fully furnished kitchen. Comfortable large deck with tables, chairs & hammocks were great for relaxing after a hot day exploring the area. Room was fine as long as fan was on.
Firstly, the owner was not available most of the time as posted on the office info. He was only there when we arrived and refused to accept cash for payment even though C/C was only supposed to be used to hold the room. As he was hardly around during our 4 day stay, we had to go and buy toilet paper! He did give another roll when he happened to come by. Secondly, the shower was missing the shower head so the what just gushed out! Considering the fact that the rate is higher, greater service for the guests would be much appreciated!

Reception is only open 2-6pm but Luis kindly stayed late to help me check in after we had a massive delay getting to the border from Costa Rica, and I didn't arrive at the property until nearly 9pm. The room is basic but was generally comfortable. Internet worked fine.
This is not a problem with the apartment as such, but there is a big hen house right behind it and the roosters made unearthly screeching noises at all hours of the day and night, and when they were quiet the local dogs often took over with their barking. I had awful sleep every night. I thought being at this end of the island away from the bars and restaurants would be quieter, but it didn't work out like that. Booking.com asked if I wanted upstairs or downstairs accommodation, and I chose upstairs but was given downstairs. The family above me made quite a bit of noise and didn't seem to go to sleep until around 11-12pm, and woke up early (no doubt because of the roosters' noise).

It had a hamock outside thats it
Poor cleaning lady, we got there and qere told qe qould need to wait as she was still cleaning, honestly i would have not sold it, looked like there had been a crack and prostitute party in the room, to her credit she did clean it, but the smell lingered and just didnt feel clean. Materess not covered and dirty, sheets old, TV didnt work, water in shower cold, towels old, in a bad.part of.town too.

No one was there when I arrived. It’s rooster cock fight right in front. Dark with no lights. Dirty as hell kitchen. I tried cleaning it for my time there. It’s just dirty with mice droppings everywhere. I left and booked another place

Hammocks outside the room, kitchen was useful.

The room I was given was right next to a group of roosters, that started screeching at 2am and did not shut up all night. Apparently this is the case EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. This is not indicated anywhere.
I had to change hostels to somewhere else because I couldn’t sleep at all. When asked about it; staff said there was nothing they could do about it.
If you’re looking to being able to sleep during the night DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOSTEL

The room is good, but the door of the bathroom didn’t close.
They don’t clean the kitchen everyday, so it’s really dirty.
I also didn’t like to arrive from the beach and don’t have water to take a shower or to cook.
It didn’t bother me, but the other guests complained about the sounds of the chickens.

The location was sublime! Loves the natural surroundings.
The kitchen was filthy and apart from the fridge, nothing really worked. There were dirty dishes there when we arrived and still there when we left 3 days later.

the price is fair for a private room with private bathroom.
Unfortunately, we got the room right next to the roosters and there is no way to sleep well in that place.
The room and bathroom were clean but all the hostel is surrounded by garbage, cans, plastics so it looks like the owners do not do any maintenance the grass is grow tall so it looks like abandoned.
The kitchen was the most uncomfortable for sure, no clothes to grab the hot things, really dirty and no even a can opener around is easier to cook in the middle of the jungle…

nice building
despite advertising it is not possible to rent a bicycle
extremely noisy roosters starting 3:30 without pause till 8:00.

Nothing.
Everything is dirty, old furniture, smell bad, cooking machine very dirty and without knobs, bathroom a disaster, sheets so thin, towels torn and faden.
You have to know that first room was even more terrible and we need to change. But the second was almost same. We stay 2 nights just because we pays in advance.
Please avoid room 7 and 8!!!!

Nothing.
Dirty, hot and dimly lit. Every surface was dirty, insects in the bathroom, cold water only, just terrible. But cheap!

The room and the whole place is well built.
The neighbor has roosters that make noises every morning.

I really liked the areas outside the rooms with hammocks and small couches
One of the rooms had no window. No hot water in the shower

The room we had was spacious, and had a private terrace. Very cheap place. The owner answered fast when we sent him a message over whatsapp.
Extremely hard mattress, bad pillows. The door to the bathroom did not close at all, which is of course unpractical when it comes to privacy, but extra bad since the drain smelled pretty bad. The room lacked basics like somewhere to hang towels and somewhere to store toiletries in the bathroom. The light in the bathroom was turned on with the same light switch as the ceiling light in the bedroom - extremely unpractical if you want to use the bathroom at night and someone else is sleeping. The backyard is very dirty and full of garbage, and the roosters will most certainly wake you up very early. The shared kitchen needs a real clean-up.

The room was very large and had a not very nice, yet private bathroom. There was a small kitchen (BYO lighter for the stove). The balcony was lovely with hammocks and tables. The bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to a food market.
The room was very hot and stuffy and only had one mini fan. There were very bright lights right outside of each window at night that didn't appear to have an off switch. I tried to enjoy relaxing in the hammock on the balcony, but between the vicious mosquitoes, the noise from multiple construction projects, an obscenely loud cacophony of roosters crowing for hours in the morning (normally I'm cool with a few roosters but this noise level was intense), and a guy in what looked like a hazmat suit spraying what smelled like a cocktail of Pine Sol, Ajax, Fabreeze and Roundup in the front yard to the point that I needed to hold a sweatshirt against my face for more than an hour just to be able to breathe, made it very challenging to enjoy the space. Before and on arrival I called and texted three different numbers for reception with no answer from any of them. However, when I pressed an alarm bell by reception somebody came down. When I needed something later in my stay, I was unable to reach anyone. Overall it looked nice for the price but I wasn't very comfortable.

everything was good but sometimes the internet didn’t work very well and they need to fix the bicycles. the bicycle that I rented got broken when I was far away from the place, and I had to take a bus and pay extra money for it to get it back.

Room was large with 2 opening windows so light and airy. Plenty of power sockets. Chairs and table in the room as well as balcony space. WiFi was good, occasionally a bit slow but not an issue. Quite at night, a bit loud in the morning from the roosters. Location was slightly out from town, but an easy walk in, and good location for us to run down the beach road in the mornings. M/S very close and the collectivo passes either into town or to Starfish beach, and the other beaches. There is also a water machine which dispenses a gallon of water for $0.25, you just need the bottle.
Kitchen was in another building which made cooking a bit awkward but well organised with plenty of fridge room and a box for each room to put their food in.

el lugar es lindo
it was veery dirty! i think they haven’t cleaned the room where i was staying. the bed was used, the towels were really dirty! on the floor in the bathroom were also a lot of dirt! you can’t give a dirty room like that to someone! i made a reservation one hour before i checked in, maybe that was the reason that they give me that room, but still you can say that i have to wait because the room is bot ready… it was really miss appointing

I liked the terrace with the hammocks, room was spacious and with private bathroom. Friendly people work there. Supermarket very close and super nice coffee shop at the corner (Omnia)
Location is a bit far from the center, but if you don't mind walking 1km it's fine. Bus costs 1$. Cocks are quite loud during early mornings, and also dogs bark all night. But that's just living in the nature

- very nice personal: Owner super friendly and english speaking girl that was very helpful aswell!
- decent budget Option, you geht what you pay for. Dont expect to much and you wont be disappointed :)
- not to central
- clean (depending onnexpectations ofc)
- budgety
- Drinkwater dispenser (25ct for 2 gallons)
- rented a bike and went to Bluff Beach wich worked great if you are good at riding since its not mountain bikes. But the bikes are super chill to FIDE, should have done that more often
- many locals live around wich i enjoyed a lot
- Fu..ing rooster and chicken farm right next door. Party starts at 5 a.m. :)
- Downstairs room in old building is very dark and the air is not to good. But i wasnable to upgrade to another room. Just take the little bit more expensive Option
- The Beach next door is pretty messy but good enough for running or walking and here are several options in the Island. 25 min walking distance or Bus (20-30 mins) or Bike

Really liked the apartment! The room and the kitchen is nice. Nice hangmat to chill outside.
Bit out of town, but walkable and closer to the beaches.

Very nice, clean and comfortable studio. Fully equiped kitchenette with fridge, good bed, cold water shower. There was even TV with great classic rock radio station 🙂! Porch with hamac. Good location, 20 mins walk to the port, close to supermarket and bus stop. Bicycles for rent for 6$/ day.
Surroundings of the guesthouse. Rooster farm from one side (no problem if you stay in the studio) and construction place on the other. Nice busy owner, but the lady (his wife?) was really unfriendly. No english spoken, but the owner Luis speaks very slowly and it was easy to communicate with him. Only one thing - after 4 days they refused to store our backpacks for even a couple of hours.
