Good hostel on the outskirts of town, right by one of the main trails. It’s basically a two storey house converted into hostel. Friendly owners live next door.
Place looks a bit dated but actually is clean and well maintained. Dorms are very spacious and not overstuffed with too many beds. Bathrooms were clean
Kitchen has what’s needed for cooking.
The hostel is very sociable therefore it will especially suit solo travellers . You can easily team up with others to do hikes.
Kitchen could be better maintained and some equipment replaced

Place was very cosy, host was very humble and accomodating, i booked it only for one day though i was allowed to get in next afternoon ,take bath, change clothing and rest for few hours after my trek
There was only single charging point in room

nothing special, nothing poor, was ok for still being able to be booked! ;))
He nicely let's you store your stuff for nature trips, allthough no locked space.
Internet was hardly functional at all.. No lockers.

A nice place with a very nice host. One of the treks starts at the doorstep. Spacious building and it was never a problem to store some stuff while being one a hike. All in all good value even in high season.
Would love if they could offer some breakfast or coffee. Really missed any kind of bowl for muesli and soups.

The owners are very nice but don’t live on property so there is not 24 hour reception. We had the private room and it was comfortable size. Good location for one of the popular hikes, but a bit farther from town.
The kitchen is pretty dirty and only one of the stove tops worked. We only cooked there because we bought food before we knew how it was. The sponges and towels were gross and old. The bathrooms were cleaned every morning but there were only 2 for the whole house so it got messy throughout the day.

the owner was absolutely amazing, and the place was really clean. The kitchen facilities were just okay, and the location was close to trails!
absolutely no hot water, reallllllly poor wifi, good got stolen out of the fridge even though it was labelled (I guess that’s not the properties fault, just crappy guests)

Location right next to trailhead for Cerro Torre
Only two bathrooms

Oh my God, don't think twice. Location is good and the owner is one of the nicest and helpful guys out there!
The Wifi is poor but so is the internet all over the town.. so don't really count with internet while staying in El Chaltén.. no matter at which place!

the man who runs it is very sweet, helpful, and kind. he really wants to make sure you have a good stay and a good time in El Chalten. everything was about the hostel was as clean as it can get considering the crazy winds and constant dust flying everywhere. there is a kitchen that has most things you need. it was heated appropriately, though our room (#1) was actually too hot. it’s at the base of Laguna Torre trailhead.
not much of an atmosphere, not super cozy, just a place to stay and that’s it. the shower head in the downstairs bathroom is a bit harsh. better mats on the floors in the shower would be nice. the kitchen is ok, but lacking a bit if multiple people are cooking. a bit far from the centre and bus station, though not too bad.

Big common area, easy to meet people and chat. Clean and very quiet.
It’s not in the center of town, so you’ll have to walk a bit to go to town, but it’s right off the trailhead for Laguna Torre. The facilities weren’t fancy, but it’s comfortable enough and good value. The host/owner is super nice, but keep in mind he doesn’t speak English.

Good place to start your hikes. The apartment is located right across from the trailhead to hike to Laguna Torre. It was clean, had everything we needed and was quite spacious for two people. Also the communication with our host was prompt and easy and we were able to prolong our stay.
Walls are a little thin, so you hear the people above you walking and talking. Overall the apartment is pretty dark. But since hopefully youre gonna spend a lot of time outside this wasnt really a problem.

Great value for money and has everything you need! Quiet hostel (not very social - not a bad thing when you’re out all day and want a good night’s sleep). We were able to leave bags there after we left to go camping.
Downstairs shower was a bit low on pressure - upstairs one was much better!
