This day was very nice. The house was perect for a family of 6 The area was beautiful. Plenty of space to sit together or spread out. Inside or outside. Very quiet location. Everything was clean and well stocked. The only thing to take note of is there is only air conditioning in one bedroom. The rest of the house does not have AC and we had to look for fans. The whole house exhaust fan worked okay to take the edge off. You also need to cross a very small country road to get to the lake. It is not attached to the actual property. Not much room for sitting there as a group. We had a wonderful day in spite of that. Thanks so much! We would return

We could not have asked for a more perfect trip! The house was fantastic! Kevin thought of anything you could want. The kitchen was fully stocked with all equipment, linens were top quality and plentiful. The lake is beautiful. My family and I had a wonderful time! We can’t wait to go back.

I stayed here with my family of 4 and another family of 4. Our group included a toddler and three 8 year olds. It was the perfect place for our stay. The house is on a quiet street looking over a pond. It was comfy and clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. And whenever I had a question, Kevin was highly responsive and helpful. Checking in and out was easy, and we would easily come back during any season.

Another fantastic stay at this fine lakehome. I stayed here with my family for the holidays. There's plenty of amenities in the kitchen, lots of space in the home and it has a wonderful & peaceful atmosphere. We've stayed at this home multiple times over the last 5 years and look forward to it every year for Christmas. Kevin is a tremendously gracious host, responsive, and offered us flexibility for our stay. We continue to look forward to making his home a part of our holiday tradition each year. Thank you Kevin!

On a 25 day driving trip from Missouri. This was a great location for a visit to Bethel and Woodstock. The home and amenities were great. Kevin was quick to respond to any questions. Our last night we were able to enjoy a great fire by the fire pit and enjoy our wine and some music. Highly recommend this getaway!

OMG! This house was exceptional. Everything anyone could want and more. The lake is literally across the street and the view from the deck is just beautiful. It rained one day and we spent the afternoon in the basement playing pool and foosball. Rode to Woodstock and did a little shop browsing and had dinner at one of the local restaurants. Walked along the wooded path in back of the house. So peaceful. And deer came into the yard on the morning we were going to leave! They also passed by on the road every day while we watched from the kitchen table. Oh! Almost forgot. The beds are soooooo comfortable. Slept like a baby. We are already making plans to come back!

House was spotless and well maintained. my 2nd stay there and it won't be the last. Easy to get to and close to all in Bethel.

We had such a wonderful stay at Kevin's Bethel Lake House. The location is perfect. So quiet and peaceful. Just far enough to getaway from the busy city but close enough that it's such an easy drive. The house was everything we imagined and more. On the days getting caught in the rain there is plenty to do in the game room/ basement but the real gem is the lake across the road. Seeing all the deer was so much fun. Glad we opted to stay here rather than the busier area at White Lake, although it's close enough to enjoy the great restaurants over there. The only regret is not booking more days. Kevin was a great host and was easy to contact for any questions we had and for when I stupidly left the car lights on when loading and our battery died. Be forewarned cell service can be very shoddy in the house but we enjoyed being disconnected for the few days we were there. Looking forward to staying there again.

Extremely relaxing. The lake and the community was so quiet and peaceful. The house have everything you might need. There was 6 of us including a small child and there was plenty of room to have a space for yourself. We would definitely rent again. Wouldn’t even think twice about going with even more people.

The family group from the north met with the family group from the south there at the house and had a lovely stay together. The lower level of the house was perfect for the teenagers. We all enjoyed the homemade ice cream shop in town. And although some of us we're way too young to know what Woodstock was, they still enjoyed the visit there.

Kevin was outstanding to work with, providing not only the details on how everything in the house worked, but literally PAGES of "things to do" in the quaint neighborhood around the home. The house and property itself are immaculately kept up with, and stocked with all the necessities for a week of off-the-grid living. The neighborhood is remarkably quiet, and buried deep in the woods of the Catskills, with a short drive to a few convenience stores, gas stations, and restaurants for the necessities -- and a reasonable drive from Walmart, casino, golf courses, Woodstock museum, and lots more for those who don't like to be "stuck in the house" all week. While the lake has a notable algae bloom that they're working on correcting, it's stocked with plenty of bait-sized fish to keep the hobby fisherman happy. My only suggestions for improvement at this home would be to move the WiFi router upstairs for better coverage in the yard and master bedroom; a detachable shower head in the upstairs bath since it's so low (my wife and I are 5'5" and 5'2" respectively, and had to crouch or kneel to wash our hair, but fortunately the downstairs bathroom is just fine); and a murphy bed or some other more comfortable sleeping option in the basement (the two adults sleeping down there said the bunk beds were not very comfortable). If these things aren't dealbreakers to you, run -- don't walk -- to this property for your getaway. It's an understatement to say you won't be disappointed!

This was the best stocked kitchen and vacation house I have ever stayed in. Kayaks for the lake were ready for us and we used them every day. We prepared our meals with no loss of utensils or cookery. The kitchen was large enough for several of us to be working at once and the dining area both inside and outside was just right for our group of six. The neighbors are all very friendly and everyone we passed on our walks around the lake were most friendly. Smiles and waves from everyone. There were cute docks to sit on and in some locations benches on boulders that made for wonderful meditation moments.

This is a place that we all want to come back to! Everything from booking questions, to questions while at the house, to leaving was seamless. Kevin had recommendations for any questions that we had and was always prompt in responding. The house has everything that you could need for a stay. The walk around the lake is beautiful. The kids loved the downstairs rec room. We all loved seeing the deer and bald eagles. We can't wait to go back again!

If you are looking for a VRBO that has everything needed for a great stay, this is the place. One literally just needs to show up and bring clothing. Everything else is provided. The kitchen is very well equipped for actual meal preparation if desired, with essentials I have not seen in a VRBO rental. Communication with Kevin was easy and timely. This gem on a small lake checked all the boxes for a great reunion of looong time friends. Thanks so much. I hope we are able to revisit at some point.

My family and myself favor the fall season for many reasons, and the Bethel Lake House was a perfect spot for us to take them all in. Between the beautiful foliage and lake views, to the deer family of 6 literally sitting 10 feet away from us at the fire pit, this house is the definition of relaxation. On top off all that, there wasn’t one thing that this house didn’t provide; an awesome game room, spacious, comfortable bedrooms, plenty of spacious reading areas, and solid internet, (for those you needed to know, lol), it immediately calmed your nerves and put your mind at ease. We loved our stay!

Kevin’s place was a wonderful place for my friends and I to get together with our families. We also had a baby and a dog with our group, and everyone was well situated. We had a great time cooking most of our meals as a group and hanging out both in the living room and basement. The lake and nearby trails had amazing colors in early October, and we would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

We stayed in this property end of September and had an amazing experience. Very spacious house with beautiful design, many lovely spots, which you can enjoy with a company or have some self-time enjoying the view of the lake. Owners were very nice to equip bathrooms and kitchen with everything we needed. Our kids had a blast playing various board games and reading books. Gas grill was very convenient to cook dinners and then we moved to open fire for marshmallows for desert. We loved our get away in this beautiful spot and enjoyed quietness of the nature, while having lots of fun. Highly recommend!

We wanted a nice calm lake house to stay in with our family for an extended weekend get together. The house was so cozy and beautiful. The bedrooms were very clean and welcoming. Loved the open layout of the kitchen and living area and the basement game room. We had a really fun time and Kevin (the host) responded really quickly when we couldn't find the trash bags. The check in process and checkout process were very easy. I would recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a quiet and cozy "staycation".

Came up for for Labor Day Weekend with a group of friends. From the start Kevin was great and made the process super simple. The house was awesome. We loved the location and fire pit in the backyard. If you're ever going to a concert at Bethel Woods this is the place to stay!

Our family had a delightful family vacation at the Bethel Lakehouse. Laura and Kevin are such gracious hosts. Kevin went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information/guides we needed to have a fun vacation. The house is stocked with everything you need and the beds were super comfy. The kids loved the game room in the basement and going fishing off the dock and in the kayak. We also enjoyed swimming at the beach and eating ice cream at the snack stand. Everyone we met was so friendly and I love the energy of the community. We can’t wait to come back again!

We enjoyed our stay at your lakehouse. We felt comfortable and at home ( which we don't often say) The house is equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood around lake and took a walk to the dog park. This was the cleanest house we have stayed in also!
10.0 / 10.0
The house and property were just as pictured. We stayed during a super-hot week in Aug. The one AC unit in the master bedroom up in the loft does a nice job cooling the house. You can only swim at the beach, which was fun, and everyone is very friendly. There is a snack bar with ice cream it all has an old time feel to it. We will be back, maybe we'll try the Fall season this time.

Vacation at the lake
Our five day vacation at the lake house was great. We enjoyed eating all our meals on the deck, kayaking, fishing at the lake, walking around the lake, and using the fire pit. We were happy to find the waterfall at the Forest Reserve at Smallwood via the hemlock trail. Thank you for allowing our nine year old dog to join us.

Great family fun
The whole family had an amazing week! We had so much fun kayaking, fishing, hiking, swimming and exploring the area. We saw a ton of deer, lots of does and their fawns, and they were so close. We enjoyed the game room, putting a puzzle together, reading and relaxing by the fire. Great family vacation!

Fun & relaxation
First, the house is in a great location, close to restaurants, shops & attractions but secluded in the neighborhood to have a true getaway feel. The view from the porch in the comfy chairs would have been enough. The house is also outfitted with a game room, books, board games and a garage of equipment. The Smiths are so generous with their amenities. We had a range from kids (5 & 7) to grandparents and everyone enjoyed their stay!

Pre-Christmas Family Getaway
The property is beautiful with a stunning view of the lake. Our family enjoyed several days together, much of it within the house or on pleasant walks around the wooded property and through the friendly neighborhood.
The home is very well-equipped and extremely clean. It instantly gave us a cozy feeling and everyone was at peace during our time there.
Kevin and Laura were excellent hosts. They left detailed instructions and notes and were a pleasure to communicate with throughout our visit. It was an all-around smooth experience.
In summary, we had such a nice time on this trip. Our family created many warm memories, deepened our bonds and left with big smiles. This was a perfect warm-up to our Christmas gathering. Thanks for everything and happy holidays, Kevin and Laura!
