Nothing
No service. No staff. No hygiene. No comfort. Shared bathroom which wasn't even on the same floor. (Didn't go into the bathroom so cannot comment on this)
I just couldn't bring myself to stay there even one night
The place looks horrific. The bed felt like something you wouldn't let prison inmates sleep on.
The pictures are certainly not what my room looked like.
When I arrived there was a whole mess with the code to my room that wouldn't work - I was given a new one which everyone could overhear. You have to call a bell and then someone talks to you over a speaker. I was asked if anyone was near prior to them giving me the new code but the place has zero acoustic insulation. People in the next room sound as if they were standing in my room so there was no way I could be sure other people didn't hear the code to my room..I didn't realise this of course until I gained access to my room and could hear a couple next door talking. The voices weren't even muffled. They were crystal clear.
This made me feel very unsafe as I realised anyone could have heard the code. I sat on the bed, trying to convince myself to at least stay one night, but the bed felt so aweful and uncomfortable. I called around and got different accommodation immediately.

Good value for money , comfortable the showers could be bigger but for the price was over all good
Never put enough toilet paper in and the internet wasn’t great

The closeness of the Hotel to the Cliffs Theatre.
This is the only reason I would stay here again.
The heating wasn't working, so the room was very cold.

I liked the concept of having codes but due to the location it made me feel very uncomfortable as the code for the front door could be given to anybody
it is right next to what seems to be a rehabilitation house for people on drugs or something. one particular lady was just awful shouting and swearing all night. but worryingly some of the people staying here (maybe living here actually?) were friends with them and it felt very uncomfortable

Free parking in front is good.. In the room, quite clean. And the staff there answer our questions when we need.
Not what we expected. There is a kitchen in the room but cooker can not be used, all the cupboards is empty, nothings there. We book this room is because of the kitchen but only know when we get there. And also, when booking, I saw in the booking.com said free wifi all area in the building but is not. our room no WiFi. My whole family very very disappointed. I paid this price is for the free wifi and kitchen in room but its not, I think is not worth the money. I should book a nice hotel rather than this with the same value.

The location was good for us. Room had a kitchenette. They send check in access in advance.
Beds aren't that comfortable. Building needs a bit of updating.

The Staff were professional and respectful. Roni was very helpful to us as a family. I will continue to use the Hotel.

Close to the beach and the staffs were nice.
Everything else. The shower would block everytime we would use it. The neighbours were smoking weed all the time and you could smell it everywhere really awful as we had 2 kids under 2 years old. The beds were very uncomfortable and we had to leave the place 2 days early as we really didn’t think it was a safe place for our kids.

An excellent choice for a stay in Southend. The hotel has been recently very nicely refurbished. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A pleasant stroll along the seafront to the pier. I would recommend this hotel. Claire

Situated in a quiet area, very close to the promenade, comfy bed, very clean and functional bathroom. Very friendly staff . I need to thank them once again for the pleasant surprise and support. Bear in mind there is a 50 £ refundable deposit.
Paid a fair price,, I hope to come back .
nothing to add

Water was hot, toilet clean as was bedding.
Reception not open until 8am for checkout and even though I waited and rang bell no staff came. I had to collect refund of deposit and had to leave for work. Hopefully they automatically refund to my card.
Bed was soft and could feel springs through it, so probably due changing.
Carpets were fairly worn and certainly could do with a proper clean.
There was no wardrobe in my room, instead a small metal clothes rail was beside the bed. But no hangers!
TV was an old LCD model and had freeview.
And it was dark, most lights off, which was obviously a cost cutting exercise, understandably.
