We didn’t have any issues finding the property. The door code provided in the check-in procedures email was incorrect. We called and were provided with a very different door code, which didn’t work either. Finally after many, many attempts we were provided with the lockbox code so that we could just use a key to get in.
Upon entry the condo was very warm, thermostat showed 81. We attempted to adjust but nothing ever came on. After a call to Vacasa we learned that AC was not an amenity provided with this property. I understand that it’s my fault for not making sure there was AC but I never even thought that I needed to. The condo did cool down during the night as we had every window open and all the fans on but upon arrival after a long day of traveling it was not pleasant. I’ll also note that a hot shower doesn’t work well when it’s hot out, the house just can’t cool back off.
Finally, the house was just dirty. There was a bag of trash on one of the upstairs beds when we arrived. Cobwebs were everywhere and dead bugs in the bay window in the living room.
We had rented the property for two nights but only spent one night, we decided to take the loss and move on for the next night.

Recently visited the Toadstool retreat with a group of guys for a golf trip. Everything you need for an easy stay and nothing extra. Space for a good group in a great location.

We stayed at the Toadstool Retreat for a quick summer weekend getaway. The decor was super cute and retro and in great condition. It rained both days we were there and the sound of the creek between the condo and golf course was very soothing. There was a heatwave the weekend we were there so it was a little warm during the day without air conditioning but the open windows let in a great cross-breeze. All and all a great location and stay.

Great location. Grocery store close by and short drive to area attractions. I love that linens were included. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for meal prep. Beautiful view off back porch. Got to use the tennis courts on site.

Nice place, close to Sugar Mountain
Overall, a very nice place and just as advertised. The kitchen space is a little bit tight with the microwave taking up counter space, but this does not take away from the rental at all. It is an easy 2 minute drive to the parking area for Sugar mountain so the location is very convenient. Would certainly book again!

Relaxing Stay
Always a good time in the mountains. This condo is a great location. Kids can walk the golf course at night, great walks around the base of the mountain. Awesome central location to hikes on Blue Ridge Parkway. The condo is spacious and airy with the vaulted ceilings and great porch to enjoy a morning or evening beverage on.

Comfy, Clean, 1970s Throwback
It looks just like the pictures only it’s even cleaner. Let’s face it, there is a lot of unique decor in this condo. We didn’t see a speck of dust. If you were raised in the 1970s, you knew these owners. Sporty (skiers and golfers) and Outdoorsy. It was a fun time travel.
Beds were comfy and fireplace is lovely. The view is beautiful. We enjoyed hiking on the property and found the secret sunset spot. We also visited Boone and did Zip Lining in the area. Great price. Great value. Thank you.

Excellent place to stay for skiing whether with family or friends
This property has everything you need including a ski room to keep ski coats, bobs and boots. The gas fireplace was beautiful and warm. The kitchen is well stocked. The WiFi works well, and the Roku television is easy to use.

Family Thanksgiving
My family planned to spend time snow tubing in the mountains this year. Unfortunately, the weather was too warm. We did enjoy our stay. The house was extremely comfortable for everyone. The house was immaculately maintained. The kids enjoyed ice skating. Will definitely return.

Easy access to Almost everything.
Easy access to almost everything. Just less than a mile to food lion, less than 7 miles to grandfather mountain, and I think 17 miles to blowing rock. The retreat house was easy to find. Quiet place. The thermostat was confusing - it was not on but sometime during the night it seemed less cold inside. Much colder downstairs than upstairs. Wifi was good. It was clean. Overall it was a good place.

Fun family time
We had a great time with our family here. The wide selection of games made for endless laughter and entertainment. We enjoyed the deck with the golf course view and the babbling stream. The location was perfect for local dining. Side note: this property does not have air conditioning, contrary to the listing. Thankfully, the weather was perfect so we didn’t necessarily need it.

Peaceful retreat
What a peaceful location and this condo was spacious and had everything we wanted. We wished it had A/C but it was cool most of the time. The decor was whimsical, loved the mushrooms and while a little dated we were very comfortable. The parking was the only draw back, don’t take more than one auto, we never found the second parking space and the one space was so small no one could open the doors on our truck once it was parked

Southern Charm in the Mountains
Nice place.... too busy with my son’s move to Mountaineer Village as a transfer student at App State to fully enjoy. Our stay was short and sweet! Thanks, Vacasa for responding to the WIFI connection issue in a timely manner.

Shroom room
First Thankyou for sharing this cozy condo. Wonderful view of mountains while looking over Golf Course. Close to shopping attractions and mountains trails. Totally enjoyed hike to the top of GFM and retreating back to the condo was pure pleasure. As the chef of my family pots, pans, dishes, kitchen fully prepared for Cooking a feast. Neighbor next door great guy. Truly. Nothing bad to say and blessed to have spent time in the shroom room!!💪🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

Great Location
We loved our stay. It was a great location with a great view of the moutains and golf course. The only negative thing I would have to say is there is no A/C. Which we did not need during our stay. But it is listed with heating and cooling section under amenities. But under the things that you need to know it is there which I over looked.

perfect getaway
This place is in the perfect location for Sugar and Beech mountain! We were right at the slopes for Sugar and the place was huge! It was a perfect fit for our two adult boys, us and another couple. There was tons of sleeping space, fireplace in the living room was perfect and the kitchen was stocked very well for someone who likes to cook. The décor was a little dated by the place was cleaner than any hotel I have ever stayed in, and believe me, I look for the places that usually don't get clean (baseboards, kitchen. etc)! Could not find a speck of dirt! This place far exceeded our expectations and would most definitely recommend it to ANYONE and would love to stay again!!
