Great B&B, clean, well presented and fantastic hosts.

We arrived really late, so Paul was on hand to provide a code to access the front door and our key to the room was waiting for us. The breakfast was really good and great value for money. Choice of bagels with bacon or sausage and a fried egg, eggs benedict and other choices as well as toast and some fruit and cakes. The facility is clean and well presented and the hosts, Paul & Lee are really accommodating and go out of their way to help.

The only points we were not so keen on, the bed was a double, rather than a king, which there was ample size to accommodate one. I am sure there is a reason. Secondly the bathroom was snug, but clean and functional.

Five Star Establishment

When we arrived we were given a family room which was out of this world, everything about it was first class and very clean, we couldn't have asked for a better room if we tried. Paul and Lee couldn't do enough for us, they gave us information regarding places to visit and where to eat out at night. We were asked to fill out a breakfast request so that they new what we wanted to eat in the morning, the quality of the food was first class. We will certainly recommend 'The Metropolitan' to friends and family.

Weekend stay

Will definitely stay again, really friendly and the breakfast was amazing I have already recommended the guest house to others. The rooms and decor were spotless and there was everything you needed.

The Metropolitan offers a great variety for breakfast, nice advice for restaurants and activities in Whitley Bay. The room was lovely decorated and clean. I'm looking forward to come back =

second I’ve stayed here and it’s such a lovely guest house. the rooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfortable. would highly recommend their breakfast too. very friendly hosts and always very accommodating

Excellent

Furnished to a high standard. Amazing owners, very welcoming. Great location, not far from sea front or Metro.

Nothing really. Some guests were noisy, but that’s not down to the owners. Maybe add pancakes to the breakfast menu.

Excellent, clean value for money place to stay run by fabulous hosts

Lovely and clean, good options for breakfast. Excellent value for money. great location close to the beach and good restaurants. Hosts Lee and Paul are very kind and nothing is too much trouble. Have a lovely dog too!

Great value stylish B&B with lovely owners

The owners were friendly and let us check in early. They were very helpful with giving us directions to the restaurant we had booked and how to find the independent shopping area. The room was lovely - bright, stylish, and very clean. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious. Would recommend and will definitely return ourselves.

Very good

Breakfast was really great -fresh fruit and waffles and the full English was really well cooked! Room was clean - bathroom wasn’t huge but shower was good Easy to find and check-in was quick and easy

Parking was on street so had to drive round to find a space but didn’t take long to find one!

Fabulous- would absolutely recommend!

The Metropolitan was wonderful! So accommodating, wonderful renovated and very spacious for a single room. Breakfast was wonderful and the location is fabulous - close and walkable to all beaches.

Stylish, convenient

Breakfast is delicious and well stocked, the owner is really friendly and laid back, and the location is ideal - directly between the metro station and the beach. Stylish, clean, cosy rooms. No complaints!

Nothing springs to mind at all. An option might be to provide some peppermint or chamomile teabags with the tea/coffee etc., but that's personal preference really.

Hosts were lovely. Breakfast was excellent

Room was too small for two single beds. Ensuite was tiny with small cloakroom sized sink and shower had no hot water
