We had a really nice evening here. It was a quick overnight stay for us on the way to Cornwall. Entry was straightforward via a code on main front door and then a lockbox. The view from the apartment has lovely sea views. We didn't go into Torquay, as we met friends in nearby Teignmouth, which was lovely. The apartment was well equipped, cosy and clean. Nice touches, like fresh milk in the fridge for making tea and coffee were very much appreciated. We also had a dog friendly apartment, which was great for us. Communication with management was easy & they were very accommodating when we were running a little behind with checkout time. Thanks Astor House for a lovely stay :)
There was nothing we didn't like, but we noted our apartment might be a little tricky for anyone with mobility issues as there is no lift available. The property is built into steep hillside, so there are lots of steps required to access some of the apartments.

bedroom was like sleeping in a rabbit hutch, very small no draws and difficult to get in and out of bed, difficult to get undressed and dressed

a front entrance door code was sent to my phone and a further code was sent for the key box outside the room
No lift and steep stairs downwards with a heavy case

Fantastic ocean view from the room, short walk to the beach and restaurants.

Lovely building and fantastic view. Apartment had a nice feel to it and was tastefully decorated.
Layout was poorly designed, for example, 1) vanity over sink is in the way when trying to brush teeth, 2) not enough towel hooks, 3) when unstacking dishwasher in kitchen you can't reach the plate cupboard etc. Also, paking on Warren Road is a nightmare and car park is down a steep hill, which (10mins walk away) whilst ok for us would be prohibitive for young kids and my elderly mum.

The view is spectacular. Flat 17 is worth every penny.
Didn't like the sky light in the bedroom (too much light in the morning). In the week before check-in, we received 17 emails - all lengthy, all too much info, all looked the same, could never figure out if each one was trying to communicate something new or different or not. ONE of the emails said the entry codes were supposed to be texted to us the morning of check-in. Didn't happen. But at least when I called the contact number, a real-live human answered who was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. All good in the end.

The view and the balcony were brilliant! It was very clean and warm.
The bedrooms were open plan with no doors for privacy and the stairs to the bottom bedroom were very steep for 2 young children. Also no freezer compartment.

The flat was warm, the view is amazing.
The complex checking in, £1 to get the entry code? I understand that this is now the new way, however I am an infrequent Email user so had to sort this at the door.

The view through sliding "patio" doors, overlooking the beach and bay, in Apartment 16 is brilliant.
The large double bed was comfortable, although the duvet appeared to be a winter warmth one, which was a bit warm for the hot weather. Unfortunately, the apartment doesn't have air conditioning, but the hosts had provided two fans and we coped by opening the front and rear windows to create an air flow.
The apartment was very clean throughout.
On the second night (our last booked night), we found that the lounge tv didn't work (we didn't try the tv on our first night). It wouldn't turn on with the remote or by the tv button. We then also noticed that the input leads were disconnected from the rear of the tv, and the aerial connector had been removed from the lead, sitting on a shelf. I sent an email the next day and received a polite thankful reply, but no apologies. I feel this problem should have been found and corrected on the pre-occupation check.
