We spent three nights at Casa Maru and had a wonderful time! The house is lovely and the views are unbeatable. It’s a great spot for relaxing and accessing the many trails in the area. We really enjoyed chatting with Jhousy and the other guests who were staying there. We had dinner at Casa Maru one night which was a bit pricey but delicious. Jhousy is a great cook. The breakfasts were all top notch. One tip would be to bring some extra snacks with you just in case. The one restaurant near Casa Maru was closed the night we arrived and we were too tired from driving and hiking all day to venture out again (Jhousy offered to drive us into town to get some food which was extremely thoughtful of her—thanks Jhousy!). I cannot recommend Casa Maru highly enough!

We spent two nights and had a great time. It is a beautifull house in an amazing environment. We did several different (very nice) hikes during daytime which can be easily done from home. The breakfast served was just perfect. Thanks for the good care!

Casa Maru is perfect in every way, from the setting in spectacular Picos de Europa to the handcrafted decor to Jhousy, the delightful host/owner.

Amazing. The host is fantastic. Breakfast is perfect with a view to match. Rooms are clean, modern and comfy.
Nothing, but worth noting the roads are tight to get up to the hotel

Casa Maru is one of the best places I’ve stayed in my life. The rooms are immaculate, the food is fantastic and the views are breathtaking. The views are the best on the region to see Naranjo de Bulnes.
They give great advice, recommendations and are just easy to talk to.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This is an incredible place. We had such a warm welcome and the view is jaw-droppingly beautiful in any weather. We did some amazing hikes in the area and loved having Jhousy’s place as our home base. The breakfasts were amazing (and different each day), and we even had a lovely dinner there one night. The road up was tricky the first time, but Jhousy helped us out! It’s well worth it for the view. Jhousy gave us great recommendations as well to make our stay really special. I highly, highly recommend this place — it is truly exceptional.

Wow - the location of this place is truly incredible! You just cannot get enough of looking at those mountains. Eating (the delicious) breakfast from the terrace with that view is the perfect start to the day. Given the location, this place is incredibly private and quiet - I think there are only 2 rooms in the building. We had the nicer room with the spa bath, which was great after a long day of hiking. The beds were very comfortable. The owner is so warm and welcoming, a great cook, and so knowledgeable about the area. The drive up is a bit harrowing if you're not experienced, but luckily we were and it really wasn't bad at all. The only part I found scary was the parking, but really it's not too bad.
While there were only 2 rooms, if someone is in the other room (which was the case our first night), you can hear a lot of what's going on in there (even just talking). The tv in the room is quite small and with bad speakers. There is a big tv downstairs, but there was no way for us to plug in our hdmi cable to watch netflix from our laptop. There was a dvd player, but only a couple of Spanish nat geo dvds. There's nothing to do here at night, so having games and a smart tv would be excellent!
I had messaged the owner 2 days prior about dinner options and parking, but didn't hear back. Apparently she didn't see it until the first night we stayed. That night we saw a dinner menu that she could cook, and we never knew that was an option (other than that, there's just a bar nearby for dinner). I asked the next morning and she said she needed 24 hours notice for this. Understandable, but I had asked 2 days prior and she hadn't answered. When she did see the messages the previous night, she again didn't mention the dinner option. I guess maybe she just didn't want to cook dinner, which is fine, but disappointing because it looked good and the bar nearby doesn't have the greatest food! I suggest putting this dinner info in the confirmation message and on booking.com and the website to make it more accessible for guests.
The only other gripe was that the bathroom had no door, it was just completely open to the room. This is great for the bath, even the shower and sink, but I'd really rather the toilet was in it's own room! Not so romantic haha :|

I absolutely adored the host's warm hospitality; the little touches like handmade jams & bathroom products, the local knowledge & suggestions of where to go & who to say hello to, all made our experience feel so unique & special. I was blown away by the incredible views. Pictures can't prepare you for the astounding beauty that surrounds you as you enjoy your home-made breakfast watching the mist pass over the mountains. I'd highly recommend this location as the perfect place to stay if you're planning to do the Cares Gorge hike, as it's incredibly close to the starting location.
The drive up to Casa Maru is tough...but it's so, so worth it.

What an incredible place! Casa Maru is located in a spectacular location, with stunning views all around. It's the kind of place where you could just sit and stare at the mountains all day long and not get bored. Cares Gorge and Bulnes hikes are close by. Jhousy was very kind to pick us up from Poncebos after we returned from the Cares Gorge hike. Thank goodness for that! Those last 1.5km up the hill would have been sooooo tough!!!
Jhousy is a wonderful host. She knows the area well and can recommend places to see and eat. That was very helpful. The house and bedroom were beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent! The last bit of the road and parking at Casa Maru was a bit scary but totally worth it. I really wish we could have stayed there longer! Definitely hope to return one day.
Everything was perfect :-)

Best ever!!! Location in the middle off Picos de Europa. Room and home made food (breakfast and dinner) are outstanding. Would rate 11 if possible.

A very personal and nice pension. Probably one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful with both local recommendations and tips for the rest of our trip in Asturia. The house itself is beautiful and has a remarkable position in the mountains. The view for breakfast and dinner is unbeatable. The food was superb (probably best breakfast ever). Don’t miss it if you go here.
