1) The location is really great
2) The hotel design is very unique, we really liked it
2) The breakfast was fine, not too much not too little, which is really fine by us since we don't really eat a lot in the morning. the staff there is also very nice, they offered special upgrades on the third day
3) The staff in the reception is very friendly and pleasant
4) We got our room before 15:00, which was very nice
There are a few thing we didn't like. I really don't like to give negative review and I hope it will be taken as a constructive criticism. Moreover, it's important to mention that this review is for the brewer room only, the review might not be relevant for the other rooms.
1) There are two windows, they cannot be opened and they are covered. In addition, there is almost no noise canceling from the street, thus the feeling we got was of a basement but not in the positive sense
2) The ceiling is very low, I'm not that tall (about 1.81 cm) and I hit my head on several occasions.
3) There is almost not storage space, it's not very convenient
4) There is not air-conditioning, as I mentioned earlier, there are no windows as well. there is a Dyson air purifier but it doesn't really help, the air in the room feels "dusty".
5) They didn't refilled the body wash and shampoo on a daily basis, we had to ask twice on two different days.

Perfectly located hotel with boutique character and charm.

The Craftsman was wonderful - fantastic location right on the Singel, perfect for people-watching from their lounge. The rooms were awesome - charming and individually decorated with wonderful details. But the best part was the staff - so helpful and friendly. They truly went out of their way to give us a warm welcome and a good overall experience.

The breakfast was so nicely prepared and the breakfast room is fantastic
It's noisy street - but, i understand that's it's very central location

The hotel was beautifully done down to the details giving a modern clean feel without compromising the historic structure. the food was great and fresh and the staff was beyond helpful and cheerful. the rooms were unique with historic furniture , with a great use of space and very clean. Location was perfect.
Nothing could have been improved.

The canal view is great. my breakfast was brought to my room at the exact time I wanted.

Fantastic location, walking distance to the central station, restaurants and attractions. the hotel has a very unique and stylish design, is recently renovated, and there were little extras like robes and heated towel racks. We stayed because our flight was canceled and we had no luggage, but staff were very helpful in getting us toiletry items and packing a breakfast to go since we had to leave early.
nothing

Location was excellent for transport. Despite being central, the hotel was quiet. Good view of the canal and life in Amsterdam.
Prefer a help yourself buffet. We had a tray every day waiting for us. Very welcome but unnecessary wastage as there were some items we left every day.

Breakfast was just right. But the room was cold
I left at 7:00 Am. Nobody to check out, and did not get an email to check out on line!

The location, room, facility and staff were all amazing! Really exceeded my expectations and I stayed in probably the smallest room. I got in and the room wasn't ready but was offered a coffee in the Galeria.
The only tiny slight disappointment was that breakfast started at 08:00 and I had to leave earlier for the airport. They packed me a very nice doggy bag and prepared a cappuccino to go even at 7:30, but I was envious looking at the actual served breakfast. A reason to come back again ;) I will be back.

Great location - just round the corner to the main city centre.
Unique style - not stayed anywhere like this before.
Really comfotable bed.
Really helpful and attentive staff throughout our stay - able to offer advice / tips and organise taxi's without issue.
Hotel is very quirky which adds to it's charm - each of the rooms are decorated around a different theme - so much better than a chain hotel.
Room was in the basement so ceiling height is limited - could not stand up straight during the whole stay - so if you are 6! 4" or more then maybe you have to think before booking.
Entrance to the room from the reception is not so easy - very steep staircase - lucky the is a seperate entrance direct from the street level into the room.
Although in a limited trafic zone you can hear everything coming past the street window - thankfully not so many people walking or cycling in the street during our stay.
Breakfast was not up to much - you have to schedule your time the night before due to the limited space so the breakfast could be set up for that time - no buffet just what you are given (very small portions). Coffee was the saving grace though.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff - will definitely stay again - 10/10

loved the quirky, unique character and finish to the property, with decor that remained true to the property but also with modern and luxurious touches.
the bed and particularly duvet, was so comfortable. the canal view was lovely and the room was peaceful.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and the extra touches like providing a great breakfast with a cute little note for marathon day.
Nothing we didn’t like about the property. Just a note that whilst the room was kept very clean, housekeeping didn’t always clean/replace glasses or toiletries that we had used up and could do with some bath bubbles - I had bought some myself.

More storage in room

The property was adorable! The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff was amazingly attentive and extremely helpful. The breakfast was awesome with spectacular canal view!
The stairway is narrow and steep but there is a small elevator if needed.

Everything was excellent. First of all I want to thank the staff for perfect job! The location is close to everything. Good breakfast.
I can notice only one thing - small wardrobe in the shoe maker room.😊

Staff was incredibly friendly! Breakfast was amazing. A lot of attention to detail. Highly recommend! Location is walking distance to many food options.

The room was exceptional and the location is not far from Amsterdam Centraal Station.

We loved the location and cleanliness of Hotel the Craftsmen. Breakfast was also delicious!
We stayed in the Airplane Builder but were unable to use the tub - the water dripped out slowly and got cold quickly. This would be my only complaint.

Location was perfect. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They upgraded us when we got there and i left my sunglasses on the table at breakfast one morning and they put them to one side for me until i got back. I would definitely stay here again the hotel is really quirky.
The only issue i had was that it can be quite noisy around the hotel late at night / early morning and it woke me several times. That's no fault of the hotel, its just Amsterdam.
