I'd have loved to stay longer. Quaint upstairs unit with inviting back deck, comfortable (and gorgeous) beds, and plenty of room to spread out/get some privacy after a day of family togetherness. :)
Check-in was easy. The neighborhood is quiet -- though two blocks from the heart of Carytown -- and so close to VMFA with its gorgeous grounds and fun people-watching. Street parking was likewise easy. As we were moving our son into his dorm, we had lots of stuff in two cars, but never had a problem finding a spot right out front, and I didn't worry about break-ins, either.
The kitchen was fully stocked -- and more -- as Lynley provided so many delicious treats, including high quality necessities like coffee, milk, and eggs. The place felt clean and fresh throughout; she obviously puts a lot of effort and thought into ensuring happy guests.
I'll definitely try to stay here again whenever we travel without our dog.
My only cautionary note: the unit is upstairs, and the stairs are somewhat narrow, so it wouldn't be suitable for guests with mobility challenges (or perhaps for newly mobile toddlers, either, though there is a delightful children's playroom at the front of the house).

Great place and great location. The hosts thought of everything, and we enjoyed our stay very much. Lots of room for our family to relax and play games; a welcome basket of snacks, high quality coffee and even breakfast items. Truly a great experience! We would definitely seek out this property again when returning to Richmond.

This location was perfect for our needs. It is within walking distance too the CMoR, SMR, VMFA, Melmont and so much more. Cary St was perfect for ice cream each night. If your traveling with smaller children we would recommend a wagon or bikes. The property was exactly as described. The only improvement that could be made is adding a stool. Everything is very high.

Thank you Lynley for an amazing stay. We had such a lovely visit and this space was perfect to host us. I got to visit with family and grill on the back deck. Comfortable beds and everything we needed for the weekend. Safe little block with parking to boot. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Cozy upstairs place with nice deck in back. Walk to museums and shops on Cary Street. No noise. Very private. Will stay again. Nice amenities inside. Very thoughtful host.

Suggest some improvements... Shower lighting is a bit weak. Would be better to have light in the area above and inside the shower. Bathroom does lack exhaust fan. The interior door knobs for the rooms should be replaced and modernized. One of the room door knob is falling apart.

This property is in a fabulous location in Richmond’s Museum District. Just a few minutes walk to Cary Street and the Museum. You’ll feel pampered by the host with fresh flowers, whole bean coffee, and a fridge loaded with breakfast goodies. I can’t say enough good things, this is my favorite VRBO and we’ve stayed in many. Book it now!

It felt like an old home with modern conveniences, after a week in there with the family, we've got no complaints. The kitchen was stocked to get us through until we figured out what we'd need at the grocery store, it was warm and cozy even on the midnights dreary (note: go visit the Poe Museum while you're in town!). The place was walking distance to many shops and restaurants, and it had multiple comfy places to sit and TVs for afterwards. Host was responsive and courteous.

Stayed here for my friend’s 35th birthday. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to check out. The place was very clean and much bigger than it appeared in the pictures with a beautiful deck. Lynley made the check in procedure very easy and she was easy to communicate with. Will absolutely be staying here again in the future when we visit Richmond.

Came to Richmond to visit schools for my daughters. Staying here made the trip a lot of fun. Great place to explore from, shop, and find great restaurants. Host was always very responsive and helpful, made things very easy. I highly recommend if you are planning to stay in and around the Fan and museum district.

This was a beautiful apartment with a lots of extras that you don’t find in other rentals. I wish we could’ve stayed longer than 2 nights. There were a lot of nice things like eggs, milk and half and half for the morning. Beautiful fresh flowers and snacks. Little necessities that were there just in case. The beds were comfy and the temperature was just right. The inside was exactly like the pictures. Thank you so much for all of your thoughtfulness!

This attractive upstairs apartment in a Richmond row house was a wonderful location for walking to VMFA and all the restaurants and shops in Carytown. (Fire & Hops and Lolita's were special favorites!) We were lucky with the January weather, so were even able to use the spacious deck in the back of the unit. The bed was VERY comfortable and the unit nicely equipped.
Be aware that the stairs up are very steep but the railing felt solidly anchored and secure. One bizarre feature is that the microwave is on TOP of the refrigerator and requires a kitchen step ladder to access! Definitely not for anyone with balance issues!
We would stay here again.

The location was great for going to the amazing Fine Arts Museum and walking to a lot of funky shops in Carytown. This is an upstairs unit of a very old row house…the property owner lives downstairs and was very responsive re toilet and heat issues. The bathroom and kitchen were fine…the heat was an issue because there is no thermostat for the unit and only the property Owner could control it….it was freezing during the second night. The carpeting is stained and some of the walls were in disrepair. While there were several nice touches…milk, eggs, juice, bread in frig, good coffee supply and machine and plenty of generous snacks, the place felt run down and overvalued when adding up all the charges. Beds and bedding were fine!

Lovely spot for our family if 4 (2 young kids shared a room). Super welcoming treats and flowers. So clean and easy to check in. Felt like home in the way a hotel never can. Can't wait to come back.

This is our second stay here. It was just as nice this year, as last. Property is cozy and well-appointed. The fresh flowers are a nice touch, as are the snacks and coffee, etc. There was never any issue finding street parking. We again enjoyed our stay.

Lynley was super responsive, the home was really lovely and well equipped, and my favorite part was all the snacks and food items she had for us. The whole milk in the fridge helped us in a pinch with our baby! Such a nice touch. Wonderful spot, really central - perfect for our visit!

First off, the downstairs entranceway smells pretty gross. The rental unit, which is upstairs, overpowers it with tons of Febreze so eventually you will go nose blind.
Beds were very comfy and the unit reasonably well appointed. Great snack basket! Thanks for that. Lighting is too dim throughout almost the entire space.
Neighborhood is interesting. You are just 2 blocks to Cary Street, where there are tons of shops and restaurants. It is also very close to the outstanding local museums. Don't miss the VMFA!

Lovely apartment, perfectly located two blocks from Carey Street, a short walk to dining and shopping venues. My adult son and I stayed for a few days and found the apartment to be very tidy and clean (and I’m a total neat freak!), with comfy beds, a fully equipped kitchen and just enough room for us to enjoy one another’s company but retreat to another room for privacy when wanted. The decks were great for outdoor reading and dining, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Lynley is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and she bends over backwards to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. One of the best VRBO’s I’ve stayed in!

This property is just as advertised. A century old upper level 2 BR, 1 BA unit with character. Great location for exploring the Fan District, Cary Street, Carytown, and museums. And, although it seems like a busy street, it is very quiet and walkable.

Lovely high ceilings and period details in this top floor VRBO unit. Master Bedroom is especially inviting. Very comfortable bed. Street parking was very easy. Wonderful to have access to deck right off the kitchen. Thank you.

This unit was absolutely great and the host was probably the best we’ve encountered in nearly 10 years of VRBO trips. The unit was spacious ( only 1 bathroom which we knew but GREAT shower /water pressure) beds comfy and amazingly well stocked kitchen. Extra touches of welcome snacks and fridge supplies went beyond anything I’ve had before. Plus.. when I realized I’d made an error in booking she was happy to accommodate my last minute change. Apartment decor eclectic and charming.
Neighborhood great.. walk to great museums and nearby restaurants. 20 out of 10!

This property was the perfect place for a spring visit to Richmond. A short walk to restaurants and shopping on Cary Street, an equally short walk to the museums, and a very finely stocked townhouse in a neighborhood of beautiful gardens. Couldn't have been better!

My wife and I visited Richmond and found this place to be quite enjoyable. The location is excellent for walking to museums and restaurants. The place was clean and had many welcoming foods and snacks that helped make our stay enjoyable. There are plenty of games and cards on site. If that is your thing. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. This was an excellent place to stay! When visiting again, we will try to stay here.

My family of 4 adults stayed here for a long wedding weekend. The apartment was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us. The kitchen is fully stocked. The beds are comfortable. There is a lovely deck and front porch. The neighborhood has a lot of activity but is still quiet
