Peaceful, beautiful, great location.

Fantastic houses, very nice layout, beautifully furbished. The host is very active and puts in full energy to make the stay as pleasant as possible.

ALLEEN (!) afzuiging in de badkamer zou mooi zijn. Further: well done Jeroen!

Sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft für einen Madeira-Urlaub

Das Ferienhaus liegt wunderbar ruhig (am Ende einer Sackgasse) im Grünen und mit Blick auf das Meer. Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und alles war sehr sauber (bei einem Aufenthalt von 10 Tagen wurde eine komplette Zwischenreinigung durchgeführt). Zudem ist Jeroen ein wirklich netter und angenehmer Gastgeber mit prima Tipps rund um Madeira und man kann vom Standort aus mit dem Auto bestens die ganze Insel erkunden. Außerdem standen in der Unterkunft besondere Annehmlichkeiten zur Verfügung: kostenlose Sonnencreme, ausleihbare Yogamatten, eine Grundausstattung mit Lebensmitteln und Reingungsutensilien, extra Strandtücher, „hilfreiche“ Kleinigkeiten wie ein Regenschirm, eine Taschenlampe, eine Kofferwage und vieles Mehr. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Magnificent-quiet - flowery - superfriendly and approachable-Top!

Jeroen is a wonderful friendly host who took time to accommodate us and show us around at our arrivel. The communication prior to our stay was also top, and Jeroen aided us to book or excursions by giving valuable (insider) tips, for example about a Portuguesian Festival at the location that we wanted to visit anyway. The house is very high standard, all desirable equipment is in it including airco. The gardens are magnificently kept and the pool is beautiful and inviting. The location is exceptionally quiet, no traffic sounds or noises from other hotels or guests. There is a little minimarket in walking distance whit a great vibe of local live. I would absolutely go back to stay with Jeroen at a future visit. In the house we were welcomed by very tasty local products and could dig into books on local history, flora and fauna-great!

An oasis of calm, chilled relaxation

Blooming Botanic houses is a little oasis of calm, chilled relaxation. Jeroen is a fantastic host; he made us feel so welcome throughout our stay & his little touches of kindness and consideration toward ourselves and our two kids (5 & 2 YOA) were much appreciated. Very clean, well equipped, and charming, the house itself is a wonderful space and had everything we could possibly have needed for an enjoyable stay. The property is well situated to explore this part of Madeira with easy access to the nearby supermarket, beach, etc. in Calheta. It should be mentioned that the driveway for access is extremely steep and can be tricky to negotiate for an inexperienced driver, but you do get used to it quickly. Each house feels apart from its neighbours so if youre in search of a peaceful alternative to the bustle of Funchal or Câmara de Lobos - but still want to be within touching distance of both - BBH is a great choice. Peace and Tranquility meets 5 star stay.

I cannot recommend this place more! It was absolutely beautiful. The small touches like welcome pack, children’s toys, yoga mat, books! The owner had thought of everything. It was immaculately clean, stylish, homely, peaceful. We will return.

Exceptional

What a beautiful stay! We spent 6 nights here during our time in Madeira. Jeroen, the owner, met us on check-in and showed us where to park. He had left us some lovely treats on check-in. There are 4 separate homes that all have their own private gardens, we absolutely loved having our own space to sunbathe and outdoor dining area. The apartment was super clean, plenty of towels, and the bed was SO comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the shower was perfect. There's a pool area that's accessible and handy on a hot day. There are very thoughtful touches such as yoga mats, which we made good use of too! The location is great, 5 minutes drive from Cahleta and 20 minutes from the 25 fontes hike. Jeroen also gave us a list of recommendations that were really helpful! The only very minor challenge was driving down to the apartment, it's quite steep and took a day or so to get used to it - but Madeira is very hilly and we soon did it with ease!

Nothing - it was perfect.

I will be back

The owner, Jeroen and partner are very helpful and hospitable. The house is very modern and comfortable, lovely terrace, great kitchen and very good airconditioning. Also the property provides enough household supplies so you don’t have to bring soap, washing liquid, toilet paper, garbage bags etc…

The road to the house is typical steep Madeira driving and takes some getting used to. Price for a lovely location.

Basically great.

We self-catered. The location is peaceful and quiet though a bit distant from shops etc. Impossible without a car.

Pretty much the only thing missing was any sense of welcome from the owner who lives on site. A grumpy first greeting and then no further interaction. It would have been good to have someone check in. Nothing major - just high rate of lightbulb failures., no stock of toilet paper. It was a bit cold sometimes with either an underpowered electric. Heater or a very smoky wood stove.

Best accomodation on our Portugal trip

The cottage was really very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace and watching the surroundings and the flowers and plants. Everything which we needed was available and had good quality. Thanks for the wine water and nuts on our arrival! It was the first time that we did not have any contact with employees or patrons during the whole stay. The key was on the door and when we arrived, we also left it on the door on our last day. In case of questions a phone number was available. Quite unusual, but in the end I liked it. It is also a good location for all the outdoor activities in Western Madeira.

I really liked it, so it is surprising that I will write several points here. The only thing which I did not like at all was the small and steep road to parking lot of the cottages. This was my daily headache and I also damaged my car there. There was construction noise from the neighbour house. In the morning we did not have warm water. Different than the rest, the beds had been not so comfortable. It would have been nice if the cottage would be cleaned once per week or so.

Superb

Great vacationhome, a few miles from the coast. Private terrace with a view over the ocean. Supermarket, restaurant and bar are nearby. The Dutch owner Madeleine is very friendly and helpful. House is very clean.

The last 50 meters downhill towards the house are truly nerve-wracking....

We’d like to thank Madeleine, the host, one more time for a unique atmosphere she created for us and other guests. It was a pleasure to have breakfast on the terrace and to spend evenings around a fireplace. We are in love with this place and the whole Madeira Island. Hope we’ll be back soon.

Relaxed and sunny in the south of Madeira

We found a wonderful accommodation on the sunny side of Madeira. 4 cottages with terrace/garden and a great view, one of which we stayed in. Madeleine gave us a warm welcome (including some wine). The cottages are clean and neat and equipped with everything you need and the owner is very attentive and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the west of the island. But it is also not too far to the places on the east side. Small shops and bars are within walking distance. Supermarkets a short drive away. A car is absolutely necessary, but in our opinion this is true regardless of where you stay on Madeira. We already miss the sunsets on the terrace... Edit, because it was missing above: we can really recommend the accommodation.

The warm water took some time to get really warm. Which shows: actually, there was nothing to complain about.
