Lovely native stone cottage next to Galway Bay with a view of the islands and across the bay to County Galway. Everything is quite compact due to the size of the building, but we were very comfortable. Knowing what to expect in a restored dwelling of this nature and age, we settled in very nicely. Bed linens and towels were fresh, building was easy to heat, bathing facilities were better than anticipated.
This wasn't a big issue for us as we were familiar with the area and the availability of services. Don't drive up to this cottage expecting to go to the local grocery and get everything you need. There is a small grocery and a pub/restaurant a short distance away, but services are quite limited.
We'd suggest doing your grocery shopping on your way to the cottage. If you come in from Dublin, stop in Kinvara. If you come in from Shannon, stop in Ennistymon

Beautiful cottage, amazing view, so clean, comfy and has everything you need. Highly recommend if staying in Clare

Situated across the road from the Atlantic ocean the view from the front windows and garden is stunning. The property was very clean and well presented. The heating was timed to come on in the morning and evening; it could also be put on instantly if needed - no extra charge for reasonable usage.
The WC being upstairs but the shower room downstairs took a bit of getting used to.

We had the entire cottage to ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped and the view was stunning. Shiela even brought my washing in one day when it was very windy.

This cottage is the real thing! On the coast with a beautiful view of the ocean. Built in 1844, the thick walls and small space is cozy and comfortable.
Could use extra blankets.

The cottage was only a 23 minute drive from the Supervalu in Ennistymon and a 3 minute drive from O'Donohues pub and local shop. The cottage is within the Burren national park and provides the most breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Galway Bay. The cottage itself is very intimate and cosy. It is perfect for a couples' romantic break away. We were provided with enough fuel for the fire for our three days on arrival and our host Sheila was extremely helpful. If you are a Father Ted fan, Kilfenora is only a 25 minute drive where you will meet the barman Michael who said the famous lines "sorry the bar is closed" in Vaughan's pub, and where Speed 3 episode was filmed.
Only some small things that weren't available in the cottage, there is no freezer section in the fridge, no oven glove in the kitchen, no stopper in the bath. The layout of the toilet facilities means that you would have to be very comfortable with the person you are staying with as the toilet is very open plan and close to the bedroom/stairs.

Location and the cottage.
Stove was not allowed to be used, but was advertised as one of the selling points.

Great location for exploring the burren
Not a problem for us but someone very tall might have to watch headspace upstairs
