About this cottage rental

Located just a bike ride from Sonoma Plaza, this 1930's cottage - TOT Cert # 1190N is tastefully decorated for your enjoyment. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and has a strict 4 person maximum occupancy. Instant book only allows booking & access to the main cottage!

OPTIONAL 1 bedroom guest cottage (Max Occupancy 2 w/queen size bed) located 25' from the main cottage, which is available for an additional charge $60 night +$35 cleaning - great if you have more than 4 people in your party (6 MAX, including cottage + guest house). Sorry - Zen Guest Cottage is NOT available as a stand-alone dwelling, only for overflow guests of Lazy Oak Cottage existing reservations, and ONLY with approval & extra rent.

Sitting in the shade of the front porch is a wonderful way to while away an afternoon. The shade from the large namesake Oaktree over the property keeps everything about 15 degrees cooler than out in the sun, and sitting there just feels somehow... right! To help enjoy the cool breeze, we've placed a teak glider bench next to the front door to enhance the experience. The travertine patio gives privacy just steps away from both cottages, and around back is a pergola with a gas fire pit and comfy chairs. A couple of chaises, as well as other lounging furniture, makes the backyard incredibly relaxing. Pick some tomatoes and pinch off some basil from the herb garden drizzle a little olive oil, mix in some slices of asiago cheese and you've got a wonderful, simple Mediterranean tomato salad like Nana used to make!

Newly renovated home with a gorgeous bathroom that includes a full soaking bathtub and separate walk-in stall shower. Bedrooms include a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, both with Queen-size Beautyrest beds. Each bedroom includes flat-screen TV's. The cottage features an eat-in full kitchen, a cozy living room with a gas fireplace with a web-enabled flat-screen TV, and an attached dining area. Of course, fast WiFi Internet is provided.

In the garage, you'll find a full laundry, and even 2 new bikes (with lock) available for your use.

The yard is fully fenced and it is very private. There are 2 patios, one with a table & chairs under the namesake Lazy Oak Tree which seats 6 next to a burbling wine-barrel fountain and another patio just behind the house with comfortable seating around a gas firepit which is also available for your use.

The backyard includes fruit and citrus trees, as well as a vineyard of edible grapes as well as a small vegetable & herb garden for your (seasonal) use. The xeriscape landscape is easy to relax in - especially while reclining in the fun bright green Adirondack chairs near the Agave.

With its central location, Lazy Oak is a great place to use as an exploration base, or simply to get away from it all!

We were pleasantly surprised by this property. Very reasonable rates, location was great (2miles from the square so short Uber for us), and the house was cute, comfortable and very clean. You can tell the owners are meticulous and take great pride in their property. In return we were very respectful and took great care during our stay. It was perfect for 3 couples celebrating a 60th birthday. Would stay here again.

The regulator on the fire table was broken and it’s dangerous. The barbeque propane lasted for five minutes and then was empty. We used the propane from the fire table for the barbecue. Not happy about those two issues.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the owner Theresa. She was wonderfully accommodating, very responsive and about as lovely and gracious as anyone I know. The house and cottage were a great value for the price. The guest house was perfect for our needs. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and the house and cottage suited us just fine. Wonderful location, close to all we needed.

My friends and I stayed in the Cottage and Guest House and it was absolutely ideal for our trip. All amenities and property spaces were exactly as listed and Theresa made sure we had all the information needed to enjoy everything included. The location was perfect for exploring both Sonoma and Napa! The neighborhood felt safe and the proximity to cafes, restaurants, shopping, etc. was so convenient. Communication with Theresa was easy and she made sure I had emergency contact numbers if needed. Overall we couldn’t recommend this property enough and are so happy with our stay. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home!!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at this property. We rented the cottage and the guest house. Both were well appointed and allowed all 3 adults to have their own space. We utilized every aspect of the place, including the bicycles, the outdoor space including fire pit, and the gas logs. The location is fantastic. One day we rode bikes all over Sonoma, including a visit to Bartholomew winery. I cannot say enough good things. Mike and Theresa were always responsive and kind. We cooked in several times and the kitchen and eat-in space were perfect. I highly recommend this property. If I go back to Sonoma, this is where I’ll stay!

We three sisters who stayed at the Wine Country Cottage for a Sonoma getaway enjoyed the property very much. Both the main house and Zen cottage were clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated. We appreciated the amenities such the gas fireplace in the living room and huge shower. The outdoor spaces were very nice; although we didn't use the firepit it looked like it would be a great place to gather in the evening. The location of the house was good, in a residential neighborhood just a short drive to the shops and restaurants on the plaza in Sonoma. The only negative is that there is only street parking; would have been nice to have been able to park the car in the garage.

A group of 6 of us rented the house and extra cottage for 4 nights in October to celebrate 40th birthdays. We really enjoyed the patio area and fairly private fenced outdoor area. Nice place to return to after sipping wine all day for more wine sipping. Check in and out was easy. Good location to wineries in Sonoma/Glen Ellen but also not far from Napa. The only downside of this trip was that 4 nights was too short! We would definitely stay here again.

This was a very nice spot- a busy street during the day but very quiet at night. It was nothing fancy but more than comfortable with all we needed. The grounds were roomy but could use a little TLC I wanted to use the lounges in the yard but was afraid I would break them- those need to be replaced

We really enjoyed the inside and outside spaces. Very tasteful and comfortable. Perfect location for visiting both Napa and Sonoma. Beds we’re comfortable with nice quality linens. Hosts were good communicators and responsive. Would definitely stay there again!

My daughter Maddy and I came to Boyes Hot Springs to attend a Wedding for her best friend. Maddy is the Maid of honor so she had rehersal , rehersal dinner, wedding reception , but your cottage was located in the middle of the events at the Flamingo and Vansi vineyards. Worked out well! Great place - met up with an old friend in from Calistoga. We enjoyed lunch in the backyard.

This was the perfect spot for our group of 6. We were in town for a wedding that was a 5-minute drive away. The location was super convenient for both the wedding and for exploring the plaza for meals and grabbing a glass of wine before the ceremony. Theresa was very communicative, the directions were clear, and we had 0 issues.

Comfortable cottage, lovely furnishings and outdoor vistas. 2 senior friends on first trip to wine country. House was comfortable, well stocked, lovely location and outdoor amenities. Sonoma market nearby was wonderful. Beds are comfy, gas fireplace in living room was lovely. Had a great time and would definitely come back for another visit.

This was our first time in Sonoma and it was beautiful. The cottage and guest house were well equipped with everything we needed. Loved sitting out around the firepit area in the evening. I would have given a 5 star review but the water in the toilet in the cottage kept running and we had to shut if off every time we used it, then turn it back on. It was a pain. Contacted the owner as soon as we realized it and was told someone would be there the following morning to fix or plumber would be called. It was never fixed during our stay. We only stayed 2 nights so not a huge deal just an inconvenience.

The cottage was just as advertised. Warm and cozy for our family of three. Simple rustic decor, very comfortable beds. Less than 10 minutes to Sonoma Square for shopping. We weren't able to enjoy the outside patio due to the excessive rain. We would definitely stay again on our next visit.
