About this house rental
Summary:
This house has amazing sweeping views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range from the deck, kitchen and dining room. You can even see the Air Force Academy (USAFA) from the deck. The pictures can't do justice to the view.
This house features 6 bedrooms, a great wrap around deck, large dining room, and two 4K TVs. Outside there is ample seating so you can take in the incredible views, a tetherball set, a fire pit, and a clean astroturf grassy backyard. This house is simply Legend-(wait-for-it)-ary!
The Space:
Layout:
- 3 bedrooms upstairs
- Open kitchen and dining room on main level, sweeping views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range.
- Lower level has sitting area and 4K 55-inch TV, plus a wood-burning stove/fireplace and another bedroom.
- Basement has 2 bedrooms, both with peak views.
- Large wraparound deck provides peak views and plenty of space to just relax or grill out.
- Lots of outside fun: tetherball in front, fire pit and clean astroturf "lawn" out back.
Centrally located:
- 2 minutes from Chapel Hills Mall with theater, restaurants, and shopping.
- 5 minutes to South Gate of Air Force Academy
- 15 minutes to Garden of the Gods and Downtown Colorado Springs
- 25 minutes to COS Airport, 75 minutes to DIA
Entertainment: highspeed internet, and two 4K Roku TVs for Netflix, Hulu, etc.
Please no raging parties, but family get togethers, holiday celebrations, etc. are welcome as long as you clear it with us first. Due to a city ordinance and fire codes there can be no more than 14 people in this home at once, for any family get together, or holiday celebration. Please talk with us about your plans in our home prior to booking. Please let us know and keep parking to the driveway and garage since we're in a cul-de-sac (room for 8+ cars).
We require ID verification, terms accepted, and security deposit for all reservations.
Permit #: 0667
Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire home, including the 2 car garage and backyard. We are located on a cul-de-sac so please be respectful of our neighbors and only park in the driveway and garage (can fit 6+ cars).
The Neighborhood:
The easy access to the interstate means just about everything is 15 minutes away or less. Having the Chapel Hills mall less than a mile away means you always have a failsafe, but there's also a ton of great options for food and entertainment within a 5 minute drive. This is one of the more versatile areas in the city. It has good proximity to the newer north end of town, and the interstate keeps downtown and Garden of the Gods just 15 minutes away.
Getting Around:
It's generally easiest to get around Colorado Springs by car. Uber and Lyft are both readily available in our experience (getting to DIA can be slightly challenging but is possible), and a rental is always easy. The interstate is a short 5 minute drive away.
If you like to walk, the Chapel Hills mall is less than a mile away, and there's an elementary school with field and playground about 1/4 mile away.
Interaction with Guests:
We are available via messaging or phone/text to help with anything you need, we're located across town so you likely won't actually see us. Our friend Lindsey helps us with communication sometimes too!

Nice roomy house. Enjoyed the backyard!
3.0 / 5.0
I booked this property knowing about the negative reviews because it had what we needed and was very close to the AF academy. I fully expected it to have its downfalls, but I have to sadly say I was more disappointed than I expected. Only book if you can overlook a lot.
I'll start with the good things: Communication was on point and consistent. The house is very spacious and fit our group of 8 comfortably with its 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Location to the AF academy was great. The neighborhood was nice and the view from the back deck was awesome. It had a functioning washer and dryer; the hot tub was clean and working and nice to relax in upon arrival.
Downfalls: gaping hole in the deck which is very sketchy and needs replacing. HUGE safety issue. 8 trash bins ALL FULL. Had to contact them to empty and they did it promptly. We couldn't find any dishes at first, but then realized the dishwasher had a load of dirty dishes in it. Some kitchen gadgets were old and rusty, limited amount of TP and PT, garbage bag box had one bag in it, house and rug were overall pretty dirty. Some fans and lights weren't functioning, a towel rack fell off in our hands, a patio chair was broken, so we fixed it. A bedroom screen was popped out and, on the ground, so we fixed that too. The yard was pretty disheveled, cigarette butts littered the back yard, the grill didn't work. I'll stop there. Overall it seemed like a AFA party house more than a place that a cadets family could happily stay in.

We enjoyed the views, location, and hot tub. New updated towels and furnishings would be nice.

No smoking on the property outside. The only reason we chose this place is because of the hot tub , but there is a camera watching you with motion detection. Even if you don’t move, the nosey owner turns it back on to watch you, washer and dryer don’t work. Don’t choose these people and this place. So many cameras that it makes u feel being watched.

The home is roomy and lovely for the area. There was a few things that didn't work and we notified the owner about. Wish the listing would have updated because some amenities didn't work and the fam was looking forward to using them. The yard could use a good clean up to help use the tether ball spot. Aside the bad, it was a very nice stay. Had almost everything we needed for our stay.
3.0 / 5.0
Clean, great views, suburban neighborhood. Don’t expect a Hilton experience. This house is more like a dated Best Western with poor quality cookware, linens, and furnishings. Propane Barbecue grill didn’t work, teeny college dorm microwave, cheap paper products and not enough for a 14 person week stay.

I thought I did a review on this property already but apparently I didn’t. This property was clean and had a lot to do! We loved the yard games an how it was very easy with little babies.

When we first entered the property we smelled a gas leak. Contacting the emergency number resulted in the fellow refusing to help. We had to contact the gas company ourselves. The outside of the property is a mess. The inside is filthy with ground in dirt on walls and furniture.and damaged appliances, fans, towel racks, carpet, doors are damaged as is the top on the hot tub.
Kitchen sink accessories were stained sticky and rusted. Cooking range was not cleaned for a long time. Curtains would not cover doors or windows, windows were not lockable and blinds were damaged and screens broken. TV would not function correctly...only a Roku remote was found and it did not work correctly. Electric sockets were loose and some not connected. Registers were rusted and extremely filthy. Lights over breakfast table would not work. Yard was full of weeds, cut brush piles and other debris. Deck floor was worn and table/chairs were unusable as was the grill.....even the basketball goal was hung crooked. Garage full of random junk and floor was filthy. WORST of all the utility room was full of debris, paint, and dirty floor causing a potential fire hazard. We left the cars outside so as not to smell them up. We have pictures of all this if needed. The view was as advertised fantastic but unenjoyable as per the above issues.

We booked this house for our stay in Colorado Springs for my nephews graduation. The house was perfect for the 12 people that stayes everyone had a room and their own space. There are two Tvs...and TREE bathrooms which was fantastic and very neeses for our large group...the location is absolutely convenient. It is right next to the mall, Wal-Mart, and many other places to eat and have fun. The views were absolutely the best. Pikes peak does not disappoint. Perfect for a large family nice large deck and a nice fire pit. We would definitely stay there again.

Spacious house for a whole family.
Plenty of room to spread out. The hot tub in the back yard was a great place to hang out in the evening.
The view of Pkies Peak from the deck is spectacular both at sunrise and sunset.

My friends and I had a wonderful visit. The property was clean and cozy. I was initially concerned after reading some less than glowing reviews, but was so pleased to find the home as tidy as it was. Every bedroom was stocked with towels and extra pillows. The hot tub was so nice after hiking the incline, and the views of the mountains from the deck were incredible.
1.0 / 5.0
First the positives: location and view were great. It is convenient to the interstate and shopping. The mountain views from the deck were phenomenal.
Now for the areas of improvement: The house was extremely dirty upon arrival. We spent the first day cleaning as best we could, but there were no dish rags or cleaning supplies of any kind. The vacuum is broken and there wasn't a mop or bucket available. There were not enough towels supplied. We had to buy our own dishwashing soap, mop, and rags. The limited amount of dishes were greasy or dirty upon arrival, so all of that had to be run through the leaking dishwasher the first day. No hot pads or oven mitts were present. The house advertises fitting 14 people, but there are only enough beds for 12. The other 2 guests slept on the couches. The carpets are stained and dirty. The faucet in the downstairs bathroom is not attached and kept falling off. The light/fan in the kitchen does not work. Hot tub towels were advertised but not at the property. There is a surveillance camera directly pointing to the hot tub. Closet & cabinet doors are missing or broken throughout the home. We asked for more towels the first morning we were there and were told the cleaning crew would be contacted. We never heard from the owners after that until the day before checkout and all these issues mentioned were brought to their attention but ignored. The issues we experienced have been posted by other renters for months and nothing has been done, but the owners tried to say we didn't tell them even though we have the conversation saved and previous reviews confirm the issues we faced. This could have been a really nice stay if there was some effort put in by the owners but for the amount of money we paid, this was extremely disappointing. Also, not that this mattered to us but may to others, there is no longer a tetherball or fire pit as advertised in the listing.

There are few basic things which were missing:
1. Aluminum Foil
2. Dish Soap
3. Hand Soap
4. Iron press machine (only headboard was there)
5. Cloths detergent for Washing machine
6. Basement bathroom faucet was broken.

We’ve stayed in numerous VRBOs and this is the first time we were disappointed upon arrival. I’ve never submitted a review, but feel vacationers should know what to expect if you go with this house.
Upon arrival, the yard looked like it hadn’t been weeded all summer. When I opened the refrigerator, it was missing shelves and wasn’t clean. Microwave had food spots inside and fingerprints on the door. Trash from previous group was still in the kitchen trash can. Washer and dryer had dust bunnies all over the top. There were doors off closets/bathroom cabinet, and a hole had been cut in the top of a shower and glued back in. The downstairs bathroom sink handle came off every time we used it. We had 9 in our party (below the max) and didn’t have enough space to sit together and watch tv. The nice chair in the living room photo had been removed and replaced with one that I thought I would fall through when I sat down. I messaged the owner shortly after arriving and sent pictures of the issues we noticed upon arrival. He thanked me and stated he would let the management company know. However, none of the issues were resolved during our stay.
Positives: as noted in the listing, the view is nice and the house is close to everything you will want to see while in Colorado Springs. The beds were all comfy.
We would not rent this one again.

Looks good on the website….not so much in reality!
We had multiple issues with this property during our stay with no resolution by the Owners/managers
Overall it has been poorly remodeled and poorly maintained and poorly cleaned and kept up and I wouldn’t stay again or recommend that anyone else stay…unless you know what you are getting into. By that I mean there is plenty of rooms for a lot of guests…but you will likely be disappointed by the details. You know…like a 2 star rating.
1. You will be greeted by a note near the front door…if you need more toilet paper here are the directions to the nearest store…go buy your own!
2. Overhead Lights in the cooking portion of the kitchen not working
3. No coffee maker…(says there is on in the description)it was broken and in the utility room along with a broken keureg. We notified the people at the #, they responded they would get a new one asap…never happened during our 4 night stay, plan to make trips to Starbucks for 11…so budget for that!
4. Downstairs toilet backed up into the downstairs shower…yes waste where you stand in the shower…I fixed that myself…because there was no time to wait for the owners/managers not to respond, we had a graduation to attend to.
5. Doors fell off of the closets downstairs
6. No wine glasses, or matching glassware…we bought mason jars to use during our stay
7. No serving bowls or platters…the kitchen is just a jumble of mis-matched left over utensils and crockery. (For a large group its nice to be able to sit down and gather together at one time…not possible without paper plates and plastic utensils)
8. Kitchen was filthy
9. Carpets haven’t been steam cleaned in a long while
10. Dishwasher leaks (managers notified…lay a towel down)
11. Etc, etc, etc
Overall the details are lacking…we made do because we were happy to all be together celebrating a joyous occasion, but it was not well kept up…you can find better options out there. Avoid. managers not responsive. Expectations were not met for what we paid…should have stayed elsewhere.

Great big comfy house
It was a nice experience. The house was big enough for our family. Great location next to everything we wanted to do and see. Would stay here again!

Deceiving and Dirty
The establishment is very well equipped to host a group; however, the property is not well maintained. We encountered the coffee machine with a very old, moldy filter still in the reservoir. The garage is very filthy with leftover trash left by previous tenants. The surfaces in the restrooms and kitchen were dusty and dirty. There were leftover trash behind the dressers, washer & dryer and in between the couch pillows. We needed extra comforters our first night, during our search, we found a closet full of dirty linen.
The kitchen, as much as we wanted to enjoy it, is very dark because the main light and fan does not work. The stove has missing knobs and broken parts. We had to purchase pans, can opener and other hardware so we can cook our meals, as well as cleaning supplies, trash bags and toilet tissue. The “noise police” is another distraction. There are set rules posted on the patio door warning about the decibel levels after 7:00PM with a security camera strategically placed right in front of the hot tub. This made our entire group not want to enjoy this amenity. We tried getting ahold of the property manager to voice our opinion but never received a phone call, instead the communication was left to messaging. We have pictures of all the evidence mentioned above in case this review makes it to owner.

Not a good stay
The house was not cleaned. Picked up yes... but not cleaned. Dirty floors, pee on toilet, hair in shower and beds, dirty dishes in cupboards, coffee grounds left in coffee pot, dirty coffee pot and other guests garbage left at the house inside and out. With Covid19 still a concern this was not acceptable!

Nice house for a large group
Our stay at this property would have been amazing if all toilets were usable. We did have two working toilets (for 10 adults) but both were up steps which was difficult for those in our group with knee and hip issues.
