This quaint little yellow cottage is the ideal stay for anyone looking to getaway from the hustle bustle of life and get back to basics. Perfectly located on Charleston Lake, bordering the breath taking Provincial Park and just down the road from the sweetest little rural town of Landsdowne that has all the basic needs.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore nature during the day, be it hiking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, paddling or anything else and relax by a cozy campfire under the stars, listening to the loons at night.
We had a wonderful time! Greg was a fantastic host and look forward to our next stay.

The cottage is small and more suitable for 2 adults, not 4. However cottage has everything you need during your stay. Comfortable bed in master bedroom. 2 level bed in other room needs to be lubricated so it doesn't squeak. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, weather was perfect, lake was full of fish :)

We enjoyed staying at the cabin, very convenient location, beautiful outdoor area and nice patio, our host showed us around and gave tips how to navigate. Appliances are old but working just fine, the beds are super comfortable, great deal for the price.

This cottage was exactly as listed and came complete with everything we needed for our stay. Greg, our host was very personable and helpful. He kindly provided us with a gift of fresh vegetables upon arrival. He was also very accommodating with providing space and an extension cord for our boat. We had heavy rainfall during our stay and he provided a place for us to dry out our boat cover. We look forward to returning at a future date.

The cabin was a little more rustc than i expected. However the bathroom was in good working order & had plenty of hot water. Could use more window coverings. The toaster oven need to be cleaned. Need to be aware that The walk to the boat dock is a steep incline. Greg was very nice & hospitable. Thank you!

I grew up going to this lake and really enjoyed my stay in this little rustic cabin. We had a lake view and access to the dock; enjoyed drinking coffee while watching the sun rise and hearing the loons call. We enjoyed our host Greg and invited him for a drink one night. This place is near to many gorgeous hikes and you can rent a canoe at the end of the lane and hop into the lake. There's a good liquor store and grocery store within 10 minutes and a cool brewery within 20. I'd stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay. We were 3 people staying and the rooms accommodated us perfectly. The tin roof was the perfect cherry on top at night when it was raining.

The cottage is a delight: impeccably furnished and with a complete set of cookery, towels, pillows. Greg was there to greet us, but not intrusive. The included admission to Charleston Provincial Park was a gateway to hiking/ swimming/ nature and is a real bonus. The lake path at the cottage would be challenging to some, and the swimming is pretty reedy. But that's a minor cavil.

Myself and my 2 old friends rented the cabin so we could attend a local weekend festivity. We have been getting together annually for years. Greg's place was perfect. The screened-in porch is great for hanging out any time of day or night. the cozy cabin has 2 bedrooms with one bunk and we were able to fit, no problem. Greg accomodated us and even went the extra mile. thanks Greg.

Beautiful Sunrise and Sunset
Great and relaxing time at this property. The area is tranquil. The cottage is spotless and has been updated. I annoyed the host when my friends came by with their dog. However, that was my fault for not letting Greg know, plus the fact that there are no dogs allowed. He was very gracious and very charming. I would stay there again, and I would recommend it to others.

Nice spot, with dock
As the owner says it's not a high end condo but it is a very comfortable and clean cottage, complete with everything you need. A few steps down landscaped slope and you're at the dock - a perfect spot for a coffee in the morning or a cold one in the afternoon.
Dock access is super easy both of from the land and water.

Thank you
It was very nice to have peace and quiet for a few days. We are packed and heading out the key will be in the lock. We took all the garbage out. Thanks for having us maybe we can do it again next year but maybe we could rent the Blue Heron.

Quiet and close to Charleston lake Provincial Park
Greg, the owner, was personable, very informative (excellent directions to the property, and suggestion for hike at the nearby park).
Quiet area near the lake.
The cleanliness in the kitchen was not perfect (we had to clean toaster-oven, refrigerator, and utensil drawers).
A little insulation in the attic and under the floor would make it much warmer.

Unclean property
As soon as we got there, my friend smoked a cigarette outside, the host instead of saying: Hi, welcome to my place, hope you will enjoy your stay, if you need anything I’m right here.. Our greeting was: I can smell cigarette, please do not smoke inside or outside under the canopy.. no hello no welcome.. nothing.. so we got inside the cabin.. the place was disgusting, blue masking tape to hold the kitchen sink, we had to clean everything we want. ie: glasses, plates, utensils.. beds were very uncomfortable and I’m not sure if the pillow cases were washed.. we couldn’t lock the door from inside, we couldn’t see through the windows as they were too dirty.. never ever again I will rent from VRBO..

Great little cottage
This is a great little cottage. The owner is lovely and took the time to walk us through the property and explain its history. The lake is a 30 second walk down the hill and is great for kayaking! We also really liked the extras like a TV, electric fireplace and all the beautiful outdoor seating options!
