About this house rental
This unique 70s house with studio on Broulee Headland has a peaceful and relaxing ambience. It is a much loved house in a wonderful quiet location. It is not a house for large groups or parties.
The main living room is open plan and comfortable. It has a combustion wood burner. The long shearers table is great for family meals, games, large jigsaw puzzles, art or study. The large glass sliding doors give a lovely indoor- outdoor feeling when sitting downstairs. The informal mostly native garden attracts lots of birds. There is a small, well appointed kitchen. Weber BBQ just outside the kitchen. The upstairs mezzanine master bedroom with queen bed and ensuite has an adjoining outside verandah with view through trees towards South Broulee Beach.
The open plan studio (orgininally built for an artist) has a double bed and ensuite upstairs and two single beds with work table downstairs. The studio is linked to the main house by the upstairs verandah. The studio is more difficult to warm up and potential guests need to be happy to wear warm gear inside in winter months.
The house is ideal for a holiday for a family with older children, individuals or couples with or without children or 2 small families.
Both the main house and the studio are well appointed however linen is not provided (1 queen bed, 1 double bed, 2 single beds, 1 mattress if needed). Doonas, blankets and pillows are provided, as well as doona covers. The garden is not fenced.

Great location for our family event near by

A group of friends who visit the South Coast regularly were delighted to find this quirky home which we thoroughly enjoyed. The layout was unusual but we soon familiarised ourselves with it. The woodfire was a bonus in the cold weather. Great position and easy walks to the beach and shops.

We loved our stay at this cool and quirky property, the location is brilliant, 3.5 minutes walk from the beach and with a lookout offering stunning sunset views right outside the door. The hill up to the headland location is significant and challenging to do on foot - this was a factor for our group as we had grandparents with us. We were a group of 5 and were very comfortable in the house and studio and loved the retro artworks and furniture.

The perfect place for us to stay with our adult children. The house is light and airy with lots of space. The beds are really comfortable and everything we needed was available. Being able to bring our dogs made it a great holiday.

The property is certainly unique, the only way to access part of the house is to go outside. The kitchen is small, but has all the necessary features to make a nice meal, which is good. The location for the beach house is one of its best features, it’s a five minute walk from both Shark Bay and the South Broulee Surf Beach. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful and very beautiful.

A stunning 70s home in close to original condition. Great spot, perfect weather and Sue was very helpful. I'd go back!

Used to stay here in my early teens. Happy to see that they now have indoor toilets, but not much else has been done to the house in the last 50 or so years. Still it’s an amazing architectural gem from the 70s and has a special sort of mystique. Brilliant position.

This property has a quirky design by joining two adjacent buildings. The large glass areas make you feel a connection between the garden/grounds and the inside.
We have stayed before and would like to stay again.

The location is spectacular. The lovely house is set in amongst a forest on the headlands, and is wonderfully private, yet a stone's throw from the beach and nearby cafes and restaurants. It is an ideal location for a large family, or two families to holiday together and enjoy the peaceful natural setting. Wonderfully clean and well appointed. Check in was easy and correspondence with the host a great experience. Having stayed with my business colleagues, I would love to return with my family as I think it is best suited to that scenario.

Fantastic location and an interesting space
We had two families stay comfortably here And we loved being so close to two fantastic beaches plus shark bay, playgrounds and Takeaway, coffee spots etc. If it’s hot weather the shade cover over the house is great but otherwise it can be a bit dark. The house itself needs a bit of TLC in parts.

Broulee Headland Retreat
This retreat boasts a fabulous location and an extremely helpful and gracious host. Sliding doors and screens on the ground and loft levels help bring in breeze. Beds are firm and comfortable. The kitchen is clean and well-equipped. The studio-and-loft is sequestered from the main house-with-loft; connected by ground and loft level walkways. Very relaxing place!

Loved It!
My family and I stayed in this house for a long weekend and we loved it. The house is amazing, it has everything you need, we especially loved the fire place. The location is fantastic, situated on a quiet headland, only a few metres to a beautiful lookout and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Pet friendly is a fabulous bonus! We will definitely be back!

Fabulous Location
Perfect location for a beach holiday. No need to use your car as you can walk everywhere. Our kids enjoyed their own space to sleep & their was a brilliant fishing spot on the rocks below. Thank you Sue for your excellent communication.

Just what we were looking for.
This house and location suited our style perfectly. The house is an 1970's gem with Japanese over-tones. We loved the furniture and art and cosy lamp light for reading. No tacky or twee blue beach decor here! Situated right on the headland in amongst the trees, there are glimpses of ocean from the house, but you are only minutes walk away from the beach and the house is 20 metres from stunning cliff views. Kitchen is tiny but well equipped. House is quite dark, but that is part of it's charm. Thanks Sue - we will be back!

Forest hideaway with seventies vibe
This was our second visit. We love this gorgeous architect designed seventies treasure. The location with easy access to all three of Broulee’s beaches is perfect. It’s quiet and surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. The kitchen is small but well equipped and the living areas spacious and comfortable. We will return!

Sublime location, architect designed fab house
We loved our stay in this gorgeous seventies time capsule architect designed house. The generous airy spaces marry perfectly with the surrounding forest, sounds of the surf and abundant bird life. So relaxing. The mezzanine bedrooms feel like being in a tree house. Sue has the house well equipped and we loved the retro furniture and artwork. Quirky, clean, comfortable, easy access to three beaches. What’s not to love? Hoping to return! Thanks Sue.

Uplifting location with choice of 3 beaches just a walk down from the headland
Earthy, retro and rustic. An eclectic juxtaposition of spaces with a great indoor/outdoor connection. Great for families with older children. Pet friendly but no enclosed yard. Would go again just for location alone and the lovely quiet neighbourhood of the headland at Broulee.

Architectural gem from the mid 1970's
We have stayed in this house often and always find it a joy. Bit quirky but in keeping with houses from that era. Being pet friendly is a great bonus. Wonderful fire and good BBQ. Separate pavilion a plus when holidaying with adult children or other families. Close location to surf beach and island walks. Wonderful bird attracting garden has a relaxed feel.
