Overall we had a great stay but definitely had a few road bumps which can be expected when traveling to a 3rd world country.
I’d suggest Lisa update her communication documents as there was definitely confusion with what she sent vs what the situation was. Small example was the WiFi. The WiFi info sent in the documentation should be up to date with what’s in the house (not that WiFi really worked that great anyway). Another example was where we were meeting Gaberiel, her documentation said at the airport but when we arrived he was not there and we weren’t communicated with that he would not be there or that he was on the way etc. That aside, Lisa was very responsive when we reached out once we were there as was Gaberiel the house care taker.

A group of 6 of us stayed here in July. The house was more than adequate for our group with room to spare. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking-in. Everyone slept comfortably and there was ample space to relax whether inside or on a porch/patio. The pool was actually a bit larger than it appeared in the pictures. Made for a nice soak after a hot day at the beach. The owner is very helpful and responsive and there is also a house manager on-call if any assistance is required. Extra points for:
1. Adequate cooling system (that we turned off when out for the day) that isn't always the case when renting in a 3rd world country.
2. Water coolers with back-up water jugs for safe drinking without the need for buying lots of bottled water or ice.
3. 10 minute walk to the beach if without a vehicle. We had one and it was only $1 per hour to park near the beach.
4. Private and quiet stay but also near restaurants for eating out or take out.
5. Our animal loving family enjoyed the friendly couple cats (and occasional dog) that would make a visit outside the home.

We stayed at Casa Carnival over Christmas with our family of four and another family of four. The house was big enough for all of us but the layout was kind of awkward for our group because there are 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor and the master on the top floor so one couple had solitude upstairs and the other was downstairs with all the kids. The best part of the house is the deck off the main living space! The water views are amazing and you can see all kinds of wildlife, our favorites were the hummingbirds and oddly enough, the bats! They were mesmerizing! The location was great- quick drive to West Bay & there was a small grocery store, liquor store and coffee shop/cafe right down the road. We rented a car and drove everywhere - I see many people say they walked to the beach, etc. but I would not feel safe walking with my kids on that road. The yard was really nice although we didn’t get to use it much because of the weather. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would while on vacation. There is a path in front of the house that leads to an open field and a deck that overlooks the water. Go there, it’s awesome!! Make sure you wear closed toe shoes though! Overall, we had a great time.

The location was great. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The pool was a hit with our 9 year old granddaughter. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped. The 4 bedrooms were hard to find and much needed.
Great stay.

A great stay during our week in Roatán, Lisa was very responsive prior and during the trip and really came through for us with the need for a second play yard as we had two little ones in our group that sleep in cribs, this wasn’t an easy ask and we were so very thankful they were able to help us out! The property was very comfortable and clean, we really enjoyed the space with our families. The kitchen was very well stocked and we took advantage of a few home-cooked meals after getting a chance to go to the super market. The kids also really enjoyed the assortment of toys available for use! We were very thankful for all the age appropriate amenities throughout the week. We unfortunately did encounter some rough weather at the start of the trip and it resulted in loss of power for a number of hours, but the local caretaker was able to help as much as he could during the time, nothing that anyone could control! Location is a short walk to the beach (maybe 10-15 min), we didn’t mind it but note that there is not a shoulder to walk on and with kids and fast-driving cars we took extra caution! The only real challenge we encountered was the address of the property not being recognized on Google maps well, we had a couple taxi drivers struggle to find our location and resulted in a few late pick-ups for some excursions. Everything turned out fine but might be one thing to be aware of with Google Maps.

I would like thank Lisa for being a wonderful host to us. The house was impeccably clean. The rooms and beds were perfect and comfortable. The house has Awesome AC and was able to accommodate everyone of all ages . My boys 18 and 16 Loved it and its amenities. Boys enjoyed the pool after the beach. My baby enjoyed the pool as well. Parents enjoyed the house and we did too. The house is in a perfect walking location to the beach. Only 10 min walk. We were able to use the stroller and carrier. There are also drivers available at the market offering a ride and only charge you $5. Lisa the owner was amazing. She answered all of our questions prior to coming and during our stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Gabriel was also awesome, when needed he very accomadating and helpful. He gave is a tour on how to get around.
Loved Casa Carnival ♡

Our Family loved the house and the functionality. We were really impressed with the views from the various Decks and having the pool to cool off in was really nice as well.
Our 20ish year old family members walked to the beach area many times and back and did not mind at all. Plenty of good dining options near by.
Right up the road is the Black Iguana Golf course which we want to try next time and the Luna Restaurant.

This home is very close to the beach. We walked to West Bay most days in less than 10 minutes. West Bay has excellent snorkeling and is a really fun beach to walk on from one end to the other. The teens jumped off the dock as well as a higher dock on the end near the boats. We rented a few chairs each day and relaxed and swam. The sunsets there are great too. The home had a lot of games we enjoyed playing. We also enjoyed the many decks and cooling off in the pool. The owner was helpful and responsive. We ate at the Argentinian Grill for a special night and at a more food court area with many options including pupusas which were cheap and excellent. All of these places were within walking distance but the Argentine place was a longer walk. We enjoyed Daniel's monkey and Sloth place too but also saw that there's a monkey and zipline place close by you could walk to and the street that leads to it is gorgeous.

This home is wonderful and very peaceful. You are close to West Bay Beach yet far enough away to enjoy the solitude and nature. The owner is very pleasant to work with and was very timely in responding to questions.

Paradise in Roatan
We loved our time at this beautiful property, wonderful host that was extremely helpful in our planning and navigating the island. The caretaker Gabriel was incredible and extremely accommodating no matter what we needed. His response time made it so easy on us, anything we needed including transportation around the island, suggestions on restaurants and even arranging a Honduran style dinner, made the trip even more memorable. Highly encourage anyone staying here to take advantage of the dinner, great meal that made the experience!
Property was in a great location, a little bit of a walk to access the beach from a couple of locations so come prepared. After the first day we had a routine down but be ready for your exercise!
Property is spacious and well-maintained, great layout especially for groups of 6+. Gorgeous view of the ocean from the top deck of the master suite. Incredible beaches and just could not be more thankful to Lisa, Brent and their family for sharing their place with us! Lots of great memories on this one. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful!
Beautiful, clean, amazing home. Our family had a great time. Gabriel was amazing, always available to help with whatever we needed-he picked us up at the airport, showed us how to walk to the beach, took us on a few trips to town for excursions and groceries, was great to have around.
Our only recommendation to the host is to update some prices on the listing, laundry is listed at $5/load but it’s $35/load, airport transfer is listed at $35/car but it was $50. (Gas prices have doubled where I live recently so the difference wasn’t too surprising) All in all the house is awesome(keep the lights on when using the spiral staircase!) and there was plenty of space for my parents and my kids and us to all spread out, and the snorkling at both West Bay and West End was amazing!

Great property.
We (2 couples) spent a month in February-March in this amazing house. It is spacious and decorated in a beautiful ocean theme. We loved spending our mornings and evenings on any one of the multiple decks that allow you to find sun or shade, any time of the day. The house is well equipped with kitchen equipment, extra sheets and towels. We enjoyed cooking many meals on the barbecue while we sat around the outdoor bar nearby. The backyard and pool is a great place to spend a lazy day when you need a break from the beach. We were a short 10 minute walk from West Bay beach and many amazing restaurants there. There are also lots of walking options if you enjoy a longer morning walk. Our hosts Brent and Lisa were very accommodating and responded quickly to all of our questions and concerns before and during our stay. The caretaker Gabriel took care of all of our needs and is a wealth of information about the island and life there.
We would definitely recommend this house in beautiful Roatan.

House close to West Bay
Our party of 8(us, grandparents and college aged young adults) recently stayed at this home during our first visit to Roatan. It is a close walk in to the beach and restaurants of Roatan (10 minutes). However, we mostly drove because there is nowhere to walk off of the road and it can be pretty busy with traffic at certain times of day. Gabriel (caretaker) and Lisa (owner) were quick to respond to the few issues we had during our stay and were both very helpful. Overall, we thought this home was a good value and in a great location to explore West Bay.

Wonderful Getaway
This was our second time traveling to Roatan. The house was as advertised. We had a great time. Gabriel was so nice and accommodating. The only suggestion the we have is to download the “WhatsApp” before you leave for your trip. This application allows toy to make phone calls on the island.

Incredible Vacation! Thank you Casa Pagoda!
We stayed at this home during Dec 17 to 27,2018. From the moment we got into the airport to the moment we left we loved it.
The House:
This home is incredible. The amount of space and bedrooms was more then we could have asked for. It has three separate huge bedrooms in the main floor and the Master is upstairs. The home also has a main area in the main floor that has a huge bed/couch for little ones to sleep on -- if your group has little ones. There is a kitchenette on the main floor and water cooler, for the bedrooms to use if needed. The bathroom was huge and we were four adults sharing at one point. It had plenty of space and cabinets for all of us.
Now the best part of the house, the Common Area on the second floor…..I cannot say enough about it. The open concept kitchen and dining and family room, that all opens up on to the big outdoor deck was INCREDIBLE! There was plenty of outdoor furniture for everyone to enjoy. Morning Coffee with my family will never be the same.
Now the EVEN better part of the house …the Master Bedroom space! WOW, WOW, WOW…..the space, the furniture, the master bathroom and the balcony!
We must have taken a million pictures from that balcony. We loved it!
Location:
I cannot tell you enough about this location. Every morning we walked down the road and wondered on to the path that takes you down to the Lighthouse properties. It was one of the most beautiful morning walks in a long time. You can walk for 20 minutes or you can do what we did which was about 2 hours -- and walked the whole loop back to the West Bay beach all the way to Beachers bar and up the road back to our house.
At night time, do not walk the main road without flashlights. Not because anything will happen to you, but because it is completely dark and the cars that will drive by (not too many cars) will not see you. So just a safety note -- if you must walk, bring flashlights!
Now the Most Beautiful beach on this whole island is close by and it is walkable, however if you are bringing bags and coolers and toys etc. make sure no one is carrying too much.
Our favorite spot on the beach was Beachers Bar --- food was excellent. Service was excellent.
The Owners:
I have not encountered more sweet, kind and responsive owners on Airbnb - as Lisa. I cannot say enough about the great experience. Thank you for everything!

Where do I begin??? I came across the house and it immediately caught my eye. Seeing it in person, I was not disappointed, at all. It is in a perfect location on the island, and it is just beautiful! That in itself, would be enough, but you add the caretaker, Gabriel and his sister, Rosemary to the mix....and it is just like home. We met Gabe at the airport and felt like I had know him for years. He made himself available to us, and took us on several adventures on the island. Rosemary....what a cook!!!! She made meals for us 4 of the seven nights that we were there...and each meal was as delicious as the last. Have her make her brown stew fish....OMG!!!! We cannot wait to go back again! The island has some amazing scenery and we were able to see only a fraction of it. We went zip lining and dune buggy riding. You can walk to several restaurants, including Beachers, and it was a perfect day/night. Everyone is just SO friendly there!Cannot say anything bad about our trip.....just perfect! Thank you to the Grams, Gabe and Rosemary for making this a standout vacation! You are the best!!!

Perfect place to stay!
We were a group of 8 adults and this property was perfect! It was a lovely home, very well appointed and had everything we needed and more. There was lots of room and the balconies were where we all spent most of our time when there. There is 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, kitchenette, and small living area with a futon sofa on the ground level. The second level has the kitchen, dining room, living room, and half bath. The third floor has a large bedroom and large bathroom. There are three balconies, the largest on the second floor with beautiful views. The courtyard as seen in the photo is beautiful but a bit too warm to enjoy during the day but quite nice at night. The property manager, Gabrial was awesome! He was personable, kind and honest. Gabe was always accessible if we needed anything or just to answer questions. He is the finest asset to this property. The location of this home is in a short walking distance to the beach and restaurants in West Bay. We felt safe walking everywhere! Even the ladies felt safe walking alone to the beach during the day. West Bay beach has some of the best snorkling anywhere in Roatan. It was my favorite spot! The water is absolutly beautiful. Very clear and has a sandy bottom. There are many restaurants to choose from and they are all very good. Love, love the Mojitos from Bananarama! I throughly enjoyed this place and highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

A Fantastic experience!
1. Gabrial is all that and way more, he was awesome to deal with, punctual, honest, a great person, we even met his family as they joined us for dinner one night. Gabe found us some fresh sea food and I grilled it up...it was a very nice evening and they are great people.
2. the house was wonderful. It was as advertised and more, the vistas were awesome, it was so quiet, when the clouds parted(maybe twice) the nights were just wonderful. L walked the roads every day and Jo went with her a couple of times, they felt safe, never had an incident...it was all really really good. the layout is very cool, had we travelled with the kids it is a perfect layout. With the separate living area downstairs then the space on the main floor, tough to beat.
3. The place was very clean and well presented, it had everything that we needed plus...The balconies and views are just awesome, almost has to be seen to be appreciated.
4. The Island itself, well we are planning on returning in 2017 to look for a property to maybe build on, we are spending our downtime now researching...that is what we thought of the Island...I liken it to Cozumel 15-20 years ago, sleepy, laid back, great people, safe, a place that I can see us parking some money in the coming years. This was the first vacation that I have been on that I can honestly say without hesitation that I was sad to see end. Usually after 4 days I am pacing, anxiously awaiting the flight home...this time I was sad to go...it felt like home. Despite the weather(see #5)
5. The weather was awful, I think we caught the outer edges of Hurricane Otto, so it rained pretty much every day and most days it rained all day...we dove and we wandered around in West End, and on what was the best weather day we toured the Island with Gabe...despite the weather still a 12 on a scale of 1-10.
6. Gabe, well he gave us a tour of the Island one day and it was awesome, we saw some amazing beaches that were deserted, I suspect a combination of weather and low season...but stunning beaches none the less. We just toured the entire Island to get a feel for it...and the feeling was positive in the strongest terms. Gabe and his kids gave us a pretty good sense of the people on the island, but it seemed that everywhere we went people were welcoming and warm and friendly, and not in that I am about to extract money from you way...it really seemed like a genuine warmth...the place was awesome.
7. The negatives...well negative...the stairs in the house

Beautiful home! Great location to walk to pristine West Bay Beach! Price is a deal!
I stayed at this home with my Husband, Son(22), Daughter, Son-in-law, and 6 year old Grandson in January 2016. We had a wonderful time and the house had plenty of room for all of us! We walked to the gorgeous beach daily (great snorkeling) and felt very safe in the private neighborhood. It was clean and pretty! We had a wonderful vacation! The rental process with the homeowners was seamless!
We were greeted at the airport by Gabriel (House manager) and another gentleman, in two small Suvs. They took us to a grocery store before arriving at the house (helpful!). Gabriel walked us through the home and answered any questions we had about the area. Gabriel was always a phone call away and often provided us transportation as well as advice on activities. My daughter and Grandson and I had a wonderful evening with his sister Rosemary and her children at a drumming and dancing gathering, for many locals, on the other side of the island. Gabriel and his family are very warm and a great bonus to renting this home!
The home has 3 bedrooms down stairs that are perfect for a couple to stay with their young kids or older children to have a little privacy. It even had a kitchenette and bathroom all contained in the bottom level. The master bedroom is on the third floor up a round steep staircase. It has a private bathroom and large bedroom area with a little balcony that has a very nice view of the water. All of the rooms have air conditioners that cool quickly and we left them off when not in the home. The kitchen and living area are on the middle floor and very open for the whole family to hang out in.
Gabriel's sister Rosemary, cooked many delicious meals for us during our stay and kept our kitchen spotless! If she is available, I highly suggest using Rosemary in the kitchen. She even babysat for our grandson one night when we all went out! I really enjoyed her company and loved that she took great care of all of us!
Upon arrival we were slightly disappointed in the outdoor patio area because it was in need of some repairs and straightening. Gabriel quickly saw to this as soon as we complained. We didn't use the patio much. We often found ourselves sitting outside on the balcony off of the kitchen,it was very nice and spacious!
We would stay in the home again for sure! Use the neighbors Jay and Lavinna for diving (they were great!) I would not suggest this home for people of poor health, elderly, or a family with toddlers because of the stairs

Beautiful & Well Cared For Plus Perfect location
Casa Pagoda is a beautiful, super clean, well cared for home in perfect location. We stayed for a week over Easter. I wish it could have been longer. Gabriel, who maintains the house is a wonderful person. He is helpful and kind and extremely reliable. I don't think our first trip to Roatan would have gone as well without his help. He met us at the airport, took us back to the airport and he also took us on an amazing tour of the whole island. His sister Rosemary also cooked two very delicious evening meals. She took care of getting all of the ingredients locally and it was such a pleasure to come from our day at the sea to a wonderful, home cooked dinner. Both she and Gabriel are charming people. The house is really classy and secure! I wish I owned it. It is close enough to the beach but we didn't have to worry about the unpleasantry beach bugs and sandy beds. It has beautiful balconies with luxury furnishings. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living area are very nice. This house is a short walk to the beach, ATM, restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed Beachers -3 lobsters, salad and mashed potatoes for $18! In the back of the house, there is a meadow that leads to one of the most beautiful views that I have ever seen --of the sea rushing on to volcanic rock formations.
The owners are responsive, helpful and very reputable. I would give this vacation home 10 Stars.

Gorgeous house with a great breeze!!
I stayed here with 8 other people as part of a workation trip! The house gorgeous, with views of the ocean on both sides framed by the trees. It's position on the ridge gives it wonderfully refreshing breezes pretty much all day long. The house itself is well appointed and everything easy to find. The kitchen is well stocked with gear, and makes cooking even for a large group easy and social. The Master bedroom is gorgeous, and has fantastic views - even from the shower! AC works really well throughout the house from wall mounted units, and is especially helpful when cooking.
It's about a 10-15 min walk from the beach, and from there a $3 water taxi to the West End (where most of the bars are). We ended up staying here without renting a car. Gabriel - the caretaker - helped us with airport trips, and picking up groceries (for an extra fee), which took care of most of our transit needs, and then we took cabs for the rest.
We all loved diving with West Bay Divers - they were super friendly and 4 members of our team got open water certified during our trip! Diving here is fantastic. The coral is beautiful, and the marine life is abundant.
If you've got any accessibility issues, there are a lot of stairs here, and main spiral in the middle can be a bit steep. That said, it's beautiful, so worth it if you can walk up stairs :)
If you don't like local animal noises, bring some ear-plugs. There are some frogs which live in the waterfall, and sing at night. I found it relaxing and proof that I was out of the city.
WiFi is pretty decent for an island. I wouldn't plan on streaming lots of movies, but we did relatively well with that and a few MiFis for 9 people working concurrently. A bit slow, but workable, and at least when we were there, there weren't government mandated data caps to add extra data to your mobile devices. You can get a local sim card with data for relatively cheap at Captain Van's in the West End Mall - though I received a lot of random text messages in spanish.
Lisa is super responsive - and was awesome about letting us stay on short notice. You can tell that they really love this house, and that they've put a great deal of attention into making sure it's wonderful for everyone who stays here. Gabriel is super friendly and knowledgable, and was super helpful!
I would heartily recommend this house to my friends, family and co-workers who might be interested in Roatan!

We had our choice of many hotels near West Bay Beach, but a friend told us to look on VRBO for alternatives, since there were 3 couples and we might be able to save money by staying in one property. We chose Casa Pagoda just based on the pictures and hoped for the best, and that's exactly what we got! As it turned out Casa Pagoda sits on top of the ridge at the tip of the island, so you get the best of all worlds. You can easily walk to West Bay Beach from the house, as well as any number of bars and restaurants. the owners gave us access to the house vehicle, so we were also able to do some sight-seeing, go to the grocery store, and also spend 2 nights out at West End.
Casa Pagoda had everything we needed- 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a full kitchen, a kitchenette in the lower level, a bar, plus a waterfall bar, decks everywhere, and one of the the most beautiful views on the island. We saw a red macaw and a toucan in the tree just off the LR deck! In the afternoon, you are cooled off by a breeze from the windward side, and at dusk, you can see the beautiful lit-up cruise ships go by. You can see both bays from both sides of the master suite...2 nights we just sat on the decks drinking wine and enjoying the beautiful weather and shooting stars. The property is just off the main road, but sits back in the tress with just a few other quiet single family homes. Casa Pagoda is 20 minutes from the airport, about 10 minutes from the bar district, and you can also walk to West Bay beach with tons of restaurants and bars (we highly recommend "Vintage Pearl" for both food and live music!).
All in all, we found the perfect place and will try to make it an annual event. If you don't like the expense, crowds, and noise of hotels, I highly recommend Casa Pagoda. With three couples, and by cooking in a few nights and drinking local beers and wine, we saved a ton of money AND stayed in a property that was far more beautiful and enjoyable than a hotel!

Girls Week Out in Roatan!
We (a group of 5) stayed at Casa Pagoda from November 8-15, 2014. If you want to feel like you are in paradise, this is the place for your next vacation! This was my first trip to Honduras and did not know what to expect. All I can say is…WOW! The house itself is amazing. The owner’s description of everything is spot on. The kitchen and open concept living space is amazing. A restroom on every floor and outside was very convenient. The showers were great. All the bedrooms were spacious and very accommodating. You only had to run the a/c if you were too hot sleeping. (I have never had a more comfortable bed to sleep on away from home!) But enough about the inside—the outside is where it’s at! You will want to be outdoors the entire time you are there! The only time we were inside was to shower or to sleep! I can honestly say we never even turned on a TV! This property was like having your own little oasis. There were so many decks with amazing views it was hard to decide which one to sit on! The first thing I did when I got up, was to go sit on one of the decks (I tried them all) and just stared at the breath taking views of the ocean and Roatan. The weather was wonderful—about 85 degrees every day. West Bay Beach is less than a 5 minute car ride away! (If you are adventurous a 15 minute walk.) There are lots of bars/restaurants on the beach, too. Take advantage of a massage on the beach--$20 for an hour—I’m not kidding!! The beach itself was so serene and the water was calm every day. So calm in fact, we took rafts and just floated in the warm water. (I was in Cancun at the same time the previous two years and the water was so rough you were constantly getting knocked down by waves!) We spent a couple of evenings at West Bay Beach and an evening at West End Beach, but most nights we were back at the house drinking and playing games on the outside deck off the kitchen or enjoying the patio/waterfall area or outside bar. The evening breezes were welcoming after being in the sun all day and were the reason you could stay outside all evening! There is a high fence around the outside area so we really did feel like we were in our own little resort!! If you need anything, Gabriel (property manager) is your guy! He is the nicest, friendliest, most helpful person you can depend on while staying at Casa Pagoda. I can’t wait to go back!!
