We were two adult couples and really found the place to be peaceful and relaxing; such a joy that we could be together near all of the wonderful things to do in this area of South Dakota!

This property is exactly like its post. The location is perfect for all things in the area. Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer, fishing, Jewel Cave all minutes away from this cabin. Highly recommend. Great hot tub, and the front porch has awesome views.

Was a great location for all the attractions.

Property was nice. Kitchen stocked for all of your needs. Nice having the 3 bathrooms for a larger group was nice. Kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft.

Great location for the Custer area

Beautiful location & views. The kitchen and living room are perfect! The shower off the kitchen had very little pressure and no cold water, only hot. No propane for the grill, when we reached out to Pam, she informed us there was an Ace Hardware in town! 😳 So if you plan on grilling, be sure and pack and haul your own propane tank. The front door is tricky, our code worked for 2 days, then wouldn’t. No answer from Pam or maintenance, so we had to leave for the day with the door unlocked. Later in the day when the maintenance came, they informed us that they don’t have reception where they live, so it could be a while before they contact us. Pam’s voicemail said she lives in Florida, so you are on your own. Upstairs area is cute, but there are very steep, narrow stairs to access it.

It seems smaller than the pictures, but not a problem. A few quirks from being a remodel, but nothing big. I think the temp of the water heater should be explained. Awesome location, very nice accommodation, we had a great time there.

This property was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be when we booked and more. We had read recent reviews before we traveled about concerns regarding the hot tub and code for entering the property. She was very prompt on her response to our concerns and there was no problem at all with either. The cabin is well stocked and so cozy and comfortable. Our surprise came when we didn’t have to put someone on the sofa bed since a loft was also available! We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the activities that are so accessible. We would highly recommend this beautiful property (and already have). Thanks to our host for addressing the concerns we had in such a timely manner and having such a beautiful place to offer. We truly appreciate it and had a wonderful time!

The house itself was just wonderful, very clean (kudos to the cleaning team). The deck was fabulous for grilling, star gazing, sunsets, eating and enjoying the firepit! And yes, you really can see Crazy Horse-spectacular view!
However, we did have a few issues during our stay. The hot tub was just cleaned prior to our check-in. Whatever chemicals they used made the water foamy, like a bubble bath and caused rashes on some in our group. Tried to reach out to owner (recouping from surgery) and the maintenance person (poor cell phone coverage) so that amenity was not used as we had wished. The night before check out was the first use of washing machine, which did not work. Contacted owner, who knew of issue, and had maintenance sent out. He tried but still did not work as it should have. My other concern is the check out policy of stripping the beds and starting a load of linens. We paid a cleaning fee upon booking so this should not be asked of guest but be the responsibility of the cleaning people.
Even with the issues we had we would stay at this property again if we even came back to SD to visit the Black Hills. We loved the house, the deck, the view and the location. And, the beds were comfortable.

Came out for a spring hunting trip. Great location for us, quick access to both the highway and the back country. Six of us had plenty of room. After a long day of walking around the hills the hot tub was great to have. It was a little cool out at night for us, but I imagine the big front deck would be great in the summer. Owner communicated very well, and quickly responded.

Perfect - the beautiful front deck with a view of Crazy Horse made this a perfect trip for two adult daughters and their father. Perfect location just outside of town. We were able to see the sights and have some wonderful family chill time.

This was our first time visiting the Black Hills and we couldn't have picked a better cabin to call home.
The cabin was super clean (a biggy for us), vey well maintained and uber-convenient to all the Black Hills have to offer. Beds were soft, fireplace was warm and hot tub was hot. Everything about the cabin was above par for us. The hottub was clean and easy to operate. We used it almost every night after long days of hiking.
We will seek this cabin out when we come back to the Black Hills. Thanks Pam!

Everything about this property was as advertised. It’s absolutely beautiful! We didn’t have to reach out to Pam for anything as all information was at our fingertips. The home was beautiful; the scenery was serene; the sunset was stunning! Kids enjoyed the fire pit and making smores and we all loved the hot tub.

Great location for a long weekend for two couples. Exactly as described. Very clean.
Two issues: check in left us a bit frazzled as our email had three different codes and didn’t know which was for the main door. Hubby got us in using a code at the back door.
We used the hot tub at night and unfortunately there wasn’t a lot of light on the deck area. Lights are solar and didn’t turn on.
Otherwise a great stay. Always fun to come to the Hills!

Loved the sunrise views and the warmth and cozinesses of the place. Host communicated all we needed before arrival.

Great property with a view of Crazy Horse. We visited over Thanksgiving. Single digit temps outside but had a low key family gathering inside. Hot tub was a bonus. Property was clean and warm with an ideal floorplan. The important spaces were open and spacious. We had mule deer in the yard daily and a red fox that strolled through. Listing details online are accurate. Location is prime and close to everything the hills has to offer.

The views from this property were great. Very good view of Crazy Horse and the sunsets were gorgeous. The deck was huge and really nice. Had up to 13 deer on property for at least 4 of the 7 nights we stayed there. Bed was very comfortable.
The only negatives I would give it was that you couldn't keep the temperature from dropping to 58 degrees every day when we were gone (and one of the nights, when we was there) and it was really cold and windy, so it was hard to warm up when you got back to the house.
The other thing is that the water level in the hot tub was low and the jets shot out on top of the water. It also smelled really bad, do didn't feel comfortable using it.
Other than that, we were very pleased with the home.

Property was as described, and located perfectly for visiting Black Hills area and riding the Michelson Trail. Only downside was a dishwasher full of dirty dishes and towels still wet in washer.

Nice and close to town for food and fuel. Wonderful view of crazy horse. Great big firepit and large spacious deck! Great hot tub with plenty of room to entertain! Will definitely stay again!

My family of 5 enjoyed a couple days here for fall break.

Private enough to relax, close enough to do whatever you want to do.

This cabin was well stocked and had everything that we needed. It was great for 6 adults. We would stay here again.

Our family of 7 really enjoyed our stay here. Our 8 and 5 year old grandkids loved “exploring” the property every morning. It was an adventure in itself for them. They also loved the cute little sleeping loft above the living area. Not sure why that isn’t listed or shown on the listing but it was perfect for them. The house had everything we needed for our stay but the outdoor living space was our favorite part. The 1st night we were there we saw over 40 big shooting stars during the Perseid meteor shower. None of us had ever seen anything like it! It was incredible. We really enjoyed sitting out under the stars after our busy days. Our only regret is that we were so busy we didn’t get to spend as much time hanging out at the house as we would have liked too. The location was great for all of our day trips. I would highly recommend staying here and our grandkids said they want to go back again.

The house was exactly as shown and described. Very clean and comfortable, the beds were especially comfortable.

We loved our stay, so many luxury amenities that were unexpected, and such a great location. 3 queen beds, 2 singles in a fun loft, and a pullout. The tub, the hot tub, the DECK, the view. A deer on the lawn, a horse in the next yard. 10-45 mins from everywhere we wanted to be (which meant we were smack dab in the middle of heaven!) We stayed 7 nights, but could have stayed longer. Lots of thoughtful extras like a full kitchen, robes, extra towels and linens. We hope to be back!

The house was beautiful. There were 6 of us all adults . We had plenty of room . Very beautiful views . We could see Crazy Horse from the front porch . Early morning coffee watching the sun rise was priceless. Evenings relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring was so nice . The fire pit was well used and the grill . We will definitely be looking into renting this property again .

Great outdoor space. Wildlife came right up in evenings. Sunsets were amazing. Hot tub was private and clean. Love the washer and dryer. Beds were comfy. Enjoyed the three bathrooms since traveling with teenagers. Check in was easy. Close so so much that South Dakota has to offer. No issues with electrical or heater/cooling that other guest have mentioned. In fact, we had ZERO issues. Plenty of hot water for our party of 5. Would recommend.

The house was perfect for us. Just the right size, beautiful property, and location was excellent. It was our base camp to see Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles highway, Deadwood, Reptile Gardens, and the Wildlife Loop. Loved it.

Nice cabin near Crazy Horse. Definitely Recommend!

We loved staying at this home for our family vacation to South Dakota. The area was beautiful and it was in a great location -- close to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, and more. The house was well-stocked with many amentities and had everything we needed for our five-night stay. It had many excellent features like ample deck space, firepit, tub, and a well-stocked kitchen that we enjoyed. The only small complaints I have are that areas under the couches and beds could be cleaned more throughly (we found some food wrappers and used tissues) and the water level in the hot tub was too low to use the jets properly.

First, the good things about this cabin. The location was secluded, quiet and beautiful but still only 10 minutes from town. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were well stocked with towels and toilet paper. There were plenty of plates, cups and utensils in the kitchen. The central AC and ceiling fans were a welcome relief on hot days. The large deck and outdoor seating were great for relaxing and enjoying the view (we even saw a doe and her tiny fawn one evening).
This would have been a 5-star rating if not for a few supply and maintenance issues. The refrigerator had problems maintaining a consistent temperature and froze half our food. The other kitchen appliances worked great. And the water pressure was quite low if using two water sources at the same time, but there was no shortage of hot water.
There was an electrical issue that caused the dining table light/fan and some wall outlets to not work. The property owner responded quickly and sent someone out, but it wasn't a problem that could be easily fixed.
The VRBO listing noted that paper towels would be provided, but we were given only half of a roll. We were also asked to wash towels on checkout, but there was only about 1/2 cup of liquid laundry soap in the cabinet. The bathroom and kitchen soaps were also only 1/2 full. More supplies should have been provided for a week's rental.
All in all, we loved this Custer cabin and would not hesitate to visit again.

This was a really nice little house with a large, beautiful deck with great sunset views. We had a couple of small issues, but the maintenance person was very responsive. Beds were extremely comfortable and the place was very well stocked with anything you might need for your stay.
