Our family has stayed here in the past and always enjoy our time. We loved the access to downtown, bike trails and short drive to Custer State Park. The location is clean, has everything you need for wash, cooking, and lounging as well as enjoying the town of Custer.

We loved the house. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was great! We could walk to downtown in the evenings. Even though it’s a duplex we never heard noise coming from the guests on the other side. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in Custer! The house was perfect for our stay with our adult children. It was very clean and well maintained. It was centrally located to all of the nearby sites we wanted to visit during our week in South Dakota, Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse, Badlands, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood and Devil’s Tower in WY. It was about a block from downtown Custer so we could walk to the stores and restaurants and not have to worry about parking. Communication with the property owners was good and they were very responsive! They even searched for an item for me that I thought I’d left behind in the house. We would definitely rebook this property again should we be traveling back to Custer area. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Perfect location being two blocks from downtown. Close to all downtown activities, but just far enough for quiet nights. We were there for Gold Discovery Days and a class reunion. We would definitely book again. Only two things that could improve our stay. Shower curtains were very hard to deal with and the bathrooms could use a cabinet or shelf for toiletries.

The location of the property was great. The description was accurate, but when I did send a message to the owners about the bedrooms, they never got back to me. I let it be. I wished I pursued it more. If you are short, they were fine. My husband is 6'4 and my son-in law is 6'2. Pretty hard to stay in dormered rooms without closets. Just saying. I guess that is the reason I never heard back. The home was not as clean as expected considering a cleaning fee is added to the reservation. I did call for new shower curtains since the one was full of mold and the other was moldy at the bottom. There were no wash clothes to use in the shower and no hot pads or dish towels. Very disappointing.

The property is cute and comfortable as well as being perfectly situated within a short drive of a multitude of Black Hills attractions and within a short walk to amazing downtown Custer (which has everything you need as well as everything you want from a mountain town). If we make a return trip to the Black Hills, there's no question we'd stay here again.

My wife and I have been the Black Hills area 6 times and this was the best place we've stayed yet. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised.

I did not understand that there were 2 units to the same location. The part we stayed in was extremely nice!

This house was the perfect location for our stay in Custer!!! Centrally located to ALL attractions and steps away from the Main Street through downtown Custer. The town is like visiting back in time and everyone we met was so friendly. We were 4 adults and stayed in Apt. B. The size of the house was perfect, beds were comfy and the house was VERY clean!!! Had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was very quiet and quant!!! Absolutely loved all the deer that roamed the area and were in the backyard every night. The owners were very attentive to any questions we had and responded to e-mails almost immediately!!! I would stay here again if we ever returned to the area and would definitely recommend this home as the perfect place to stay!!!

The property is cute, clean, and generously supplied with paper products, soap, linens, and kitchen utensils. It is located so close to shops and restaurants that teens can go out on their own. Custer is a great location for a sightseeing base. Although there are enough beds, the configuration is a bit tight for 5 adult-sized people to watch movies together.

My family and I stayed here for three days after camping for a week. It was a wonderful place of respite with comfy couches, beds, and close to everything. We biked the trail, hiked, stopped by the library, and went to Mount Rushmore Brewing (try the garbage pail nachos - super good). The hosts were helpful and thorough!

O!M!G!
This was one of the best places we have stayed in. Everything was clean, everything worked (fridge, stove, washer, dryer, etc.) The host was always available and very helpful with giving us information about where everything was in town and attractions around the area since this was our first visit to the area. Would definitely stay here again!!

The pictures are misleading- you aren’t renting the house, look to the far right, the little door, that is your entrance.
Need updated pictures of inside and outside. The area you do stay in, inside of their home is new(ish).
The couches are very worn and upon arrival we found food in the freezer and refrigerator. The refrigerator wasn’t working well, they were responsive. The lawn has deer feces all over it, have to be careful.
Unfortunately the home neighbors some run down properties with couches in their lawns. It is literally two blocks from Main Street which is great.
I would have rated this property higher had the owners been transparent what you are renting. I had to request pictures of the bedrooms and back yard.
The location is the best part about this property, unfortunately you have to live with rest.

Great home base on our trip to the Black Hills
We enjoyed this house for our lodging on a recent trip to SD. There were 6 of us (3 adults and 3 kids) and the 2 bedrooms and pull out sofa for the kids worked well for our needs. This house had adequate space for us and was well equipped for all our needs. We walked to downtown several times and it was conveniently located for all our Black Hills adventures. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house had everything we needed and was quite spacious with a pleasant deck out back. It’s proximity (easy walk) to all the shops and restaurants in Custer can’t be beat and it is a great central location for exploring all of the beauty the Black Hills has to offer.

It was perfect!
We absolutely loved our stay! Location was close vicinity all of the amazing South Dakota sites, and within walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. Cozy, clean and spacious. The owners were very accommodating and friendly! We will definitely be back again!!

3 Pleasant Nights
Two couples traveling together and this property met our needs perfectly. We were able to prepare breakfast each morning before setting out to Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, and Jewel Cave National Monument. We took advantage of the grill and outdoor dining space one evening and it was very pleasant. Saw multiple deer in the backyard. After several days on the road, it was great to have a washer and dryer in the rental. It is close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse which we visited on the way into Custer. Caitlin & Darin were awesome hosts and we would definitely stay here again if we were ever in the area.

Great Black Hills Homebase
We just returned home from a trip with our 3 young children to the Black Hills. This property was perfect for our family. We liked that we were only 2 blocks from down town Custer and each evening we were able to walk down town and try something new to eat and take in the local shops. It is a great location to quickly get to Evans Plunge, Rushmore, Bear Country and many other stops.

House of flies
This property is overpriced for its condition and location. We selected as it was dog friendly however the yard isn’t fenced and it littered with feces from deer that no one bothers to clean up so there wasn’t a great place to walk pets or protect them from the wildlife. The house is in good condition but they have a fly issue which was very gross to have dead flies all over. The owner is on premises. The town of Custer was closing for the season so many restaurants were closed and would have been nice to know that we would struggle with even buying a coffee on our way out of town and only two lunch choices so a burger or a burger. The kitchen is equipped but could use a few items like tongs and sharp knives to cut with. Beds were ok but the couches are worn out to where you can feel springs. No hooks for coats no closets in bedrooms and really didn’t have a decent mud area set up to remove shoes hang up coats and umbrellas yet there is a nice area they could do this with. In a pinch it worked but really felt like I paid way too much for this poor neighborhood. It was the nicest house on the street but not a clean area

Enjoyed our stay. Unit a little short on cooking utensils and supplies but made it work. Bought and left a can opener for future guests. Location really convenient to everything. Easy walk to bars, restaurants and grocery. Restaurants in Custer were excellent!
