Perfect central location but quiet and the host was very accommodating.

Owner greeted us on arrival, very friendly and the apartment was clean. Large bathroom with a great shower. Small kitchen but provided breakfast goods and well stocked. Lots of literature about the area and things to do. We had booked due to travelling to visit Warner Bros. Studio Tour and this was the perfect base.
Didn't actually stay at this property due to a booking clash, was informed the property had become unavailable to rent after booking but when we arrived there were people already staying in there. The owner offered us a smaller property next door (20 Keyfield Terrace) with a partial refund. Great customer service, accommodation was adequate if not a little tired. No communal living area or anywhere to eat a meal together so only really suitable for one night. Clean and comfortable, quite noisy during the night due to foot traffic/cars outside and single glazed windows (we heard lots of conversations) and people in the upstairs property.

The personal touch

Host was nice and property was in a good location.
Accommodation was not what was pictured in the booking.com advertisement. I was advised that only a 2 bedroom was available (not sure how as property was advertised as a 3 bedroom) but still a form of false advertising.
I am not trying to be nasty but the beds were hard and the pillows lumpy.

Barry was informative and friendly. The property was very warm on a very cold night. The facilities were all adequate for our 1 night stay. The car park was directly opposite the property and the town centre a very short walk away.
The property wasn't the one advertised and was smaller in size but because our party was less in number than we had paid for, this didn't matter. We had another property above ours that made noise late at night and early in the morning.

The host couldn’t be more helpful. The house was exactly what we needed for our stay, close to town centre but tucked away on a quiet street. Beds were comfortable, continental breakfast was lovely extra. Convenient parking over the road. Would highly recommend this property for a stay in St Albans

Location was spot on and it was nice having the person meet me on arrival
very minor point but there was no double bed

Good facilities generally, comfy beds and nice that breakfast items are available, nice touch.
Went hought we were in a three bed apartment that fit 6 people (there were 5 of us) when in fact it was only two bedroom so had to cram a third mattress on one of the bedroom floors. Barry was apologetic and that was appreciated.

Host was very pleasant and accomodating. Felt very homely and clean. Thanks for letting us stay at your house.

Great location for exploring St Albans and quirky little house.
Breakfast and supplies were great - fresh milk, fruit, cereals and croissants with coffee and tea provided as well.
Great to have separate rooms for our party of four.
No real place to sit as a group so maybe less bedrooms and a nice sitting space could be created.
Also, we tried to charge a phone and used the plug on the top landing which ended up with a fishy odour that we subsequently researched and realised this was to do with plugs and chargers being faulty - we have used this charger in many other locations during our week away with no problems so seems the electrics were at fault - scary as we then realised there was no smoke alarm anywhere.

Great house in town center clean 🤙

Polite host
Good location
Parking close by
Filthy
All beds were dirty with debris and hair in them
Cutlery sticky in the drawers
Fridge very dirty with broken shelves and food congealed to shelves
Kitchen unclean
Walls dirty
Not hoovered
Found someone’s fake nail and earring plus food on the carpets in bedroom upstairs
Needs an extensive deep clean at the very least
Needs renovating in all honesty
Stairs very steep with no handrail and open side
Half used sauce bottles in cupboards (sachets? Or new for hygiene?)
Small Fly in the sugar canister
The list goes on….
As a family with 3 young children we did not stay in the property overnight as it was so dirty. We had to find alternative accommodation at short notice in Hemel Heampstead.
Gave polite feed back to Barry who apologised that the cottage was ‘not to our taste’ and the stairs are ‘perfectly legal’ and remarked that we had made a cup of coffee and moved bed sheets and and two single beds together rather than addressing our issues.
Avoid at all costs

Fits six and boasts a little outside table and chairs area to soak up some sun and enjoy the evening. Very accommodating hosts, organised for an iron to be brought round and organised the return of a forgotten item of clothing free of charge.
Close to the centre of the city, quiet area and three nice pubs all within very short walking distance.
Central living/kitchen doesn’t allow you to sit down and eat a meal all together around a table - you would need to sit outside.
Shower head and handheld shower head both leak slightly and probably could do with replacing - but small bones to pick in an otherwise great property.

The host met us within minutes of arrival to show us in to the terraced house. Tea, milk, biscuits etc all provided which was nice.
Comfy beds (but no pillow covers)
Car park was just opposite the house and the cathedral and park was just minutes walk away.
This house would be ideal for a young family to explore St Albans and surrounding area.
The staircase wasn’t easy for my elderly mother and no handrail at the bottom. The dining area was a breakfast bar with high stools in the small kitchen, again unsuitable for my elderly mother and uncle
The house and outside furniture could have been cleaned to a higher standard.

Very friendly man showed us in. Plenty of food and drinks, even a bowl of fruit which was a nice touch.
It is very dated and studenty. I had to wash the kitchen floor because it was sticky. Also washed the glasses before we could use them. The shower was cold.

Very kind host who met us late at night to check in.
Unclean and dusty.
