The breakfast room was nice. The bedroom was OK. The staff did their best and were pleasant. Cleanliness was fine. The pool was a nice facility to have access to.
The layout in the shower room was strange and awkward with beams. The bed was not that comfortable and had strange protruding wings at the tail end which my wife banged into several times with her leg/hip.The hotel looked a little tired and there were very few staff about

The room was clean the garden was pretty the location was great.
The room was small and also I requested a special room for my husbands birthday, which our friends stayed for one night and had a much better room. No special touches for his birthday like chocolates or champagne. They completely mixed all our breakfast up on the second morning and ended up sending food back as it was Luke warm , missed items off our plates and was told a vegetarian sausage was clearly bubble and squeak which was rubbish as I had one the previous morning. Offered no toast we had to ask in the end . No jams and marmalades were provided , the ketchup came as we were finishing our breakfast. The hotel itself was very charming and great location , unfortunately they stop serving at the bar 10.15pm which is very early for a hotel.

Perfect
The bed mattress was too soft and springy, I hardly slept, very uncomfortable.

Comfortable room. Good sauna and pool. Lovely breakfast. Nice little bar.
The room was very warm (but, in fairness, all we had to do was turn off the radiator and open a window).

Period building complimented with matching indoor decoration & fittings.
Nothing to dislike

Good location, good breakfast, good shower. Parking was easy.
The bed was so soft that I have had back problems since staying there.

Pool - ok. Staff - some surly. Wine list - reminiscent of a 1970s Carvery, service - good, dinner - not bad
possible the worst eggs benedict ever. stale cheap soggy muffin, glutinous tasteless sauce, watery eggs, cheap tasteless ham. A masterclass in poor quality.

Location
bedroom small and poky, very warm
The food was 1 star, Our main meal was lamb it was undercooked. We sent it back to be told the chef had gone home and we couldn't have anything cooked. It was not even 8.30pm. Breakfast was adequate. served lukewarm.

Excellent breakfast & the swimming pool was a welcome bonus. Enjoyed country manor & village setting.
Hot weather, so open windows let in some noise from nearby machinery.

Didn't stay for breakfast as I had read the reviews which were not too complimentary.

Such a lovely place
I was a bit disappointed with the lack of response when I queried that I had had to pay for a cooked breakfast for two as on booking.com it said my booking included breakfast but apparently that wasn't a cooked breakfast. There was nothing on the booking page to say that breakfast didn't include the cook breakfast so felt I wasn't sold the breakfast included properly and felt this use have been refunded

Loved it! Always have. Everything about it!
Maybe just make sure your waiting staff are really really trained with etiquette. Eg. How to ensure the meal is OK...and how to ensure the wine is satisfactory and offer the guests a taste etc etc.

Food was great, staff was friendly and attentive, location perfect and loved the historical look and feel. Fabulous hotel!
Nothing, all wonderful...would definitely come back!!!

Room clean and staff were friendly.
Having a swimming pool and a restaurant on site was great.
When we booked the room via booking.com breakfast was included in the price however we were told at the hotel when we were checking out that they charged us for the cooked breakfast we had as only the continental was included in our booking. This was not made clear anywhere when we booked the room. The breakfasts without the cooked options would have been very limited for the price of £9.95/head - noted on booking.com this was the price they charged when a room did not include breakfast.
Staff however did not charge us at the end !
