Smoky smelling room with faulty fire equipment

Location is good, staff are friendly. Breakfast was good.

On entering room immediately noted strong smell of cigarette smoke despite this being a non-smoking room. Went to speak to reception who were very apologetic and offered complimentary breakfast as an apology but had no other double room to offer. Someone had clearly been smoking in the room previously and the fire alarm had clearly been interfered with as there was still a bag over the sensor; I’m not sure how this could have been missed when the room was cleaned as it wasn’t a subtle smell. Sadly this would make me not want to book again.

Staff were pretty friendly and welcoming, and hotel looked clean and not too busy.

From the booking I identified my arrival time would be late. The website says that room service is "always" available. On the day I received a text welcoming me to the hotel. I responded to confirm whether room service would still be available after 10pm - no response. At 8pm, I tried phoning the hotel to confirm my late arrival and room service, I got placed in a queue and after 5 minutes of hearing my call was really important to them - I gave up. On arrival, receptionist very apologetic but said - No food available. On top of that, double bed made up of 2 singles, with a horrible lump in the middle, resulting in bad night, restless sleep.

Good quality for the price

Room was a nice size, with a very good television which was able to connect to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ as well as freeview. It was cleaned well every day, the breakfast I had was superb, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

When my wife and I walked to the reception, we asked the person on reception where the restaurant was and she shrugged in the general direction of the area behind her (this looks like an open bar area). We then asked if we order at the bar, as there are no wait-staff, and she nodded while looking at us as if we had two heads! We left for another place rather than eat there that time. The parking is also not included, which is a shame considering the location and the price of the room

Exceptional

Hotel and lounge areas were smart and clean. Staff were efficient and helpful. The serving of meals for 400 guests was impressive! Beds were comfortable and rooms had everything you needed.

Disappointing

Good location for a new client I was working with

Absolutely zero water pressure, shower did not work at all. Used the bath all week Was given a room where someone had already helped themselves to half a bottle of water and a coffee which had not been replenished.

One night exactly what we wanted

Stayed here for one night on New Years Eve as it was near our friends who were having a party, comfy beds, good breakfast just what we needed

it was ok could’ve been better

I like that it had a decent amount of space and staff were really friendly.

we had to shift out of 2 rooms due to the windows not working on 2 rooms downstairs plus the heating wouldn’t go down. and there should be water to drink from whilst it’s late at least.

Noisy night

Room was comfortable, Bathroom in good order.

Bar staff emptying bottles into bins at 23.44!!!! Draughty windows. Staff not that happy/ busy with party guests. Parking charge £5 pint?

Superb

Safe and secure parking with 24h security. Spacious rooms,good food and value for money. Located on the main ring roads in and out of Bradford.

Not much, as a contractor, I was possibly founded apon? Maybe just the way I perceived it.

comfortable but needs refurbishment

I last visited the hotel 18 years ago for a Birthday party. The hotel at the time was on top form however those 18 years the hotel is showing wear and rare.
