There was road works being carried out on Taranaki St, that woke me up and kept me awake

La situation géographique près du centre ville
aucun accueil physique
sentiment d'insécurité, porte d'entrée ouverte à tous vents
pas de possibilité de cuisiner
risque de se retrouver dehors si on prend pas sa carte pour aller aux toilettes ou la salle de bains

Affordable room on a special discount
The staircase to get to the rooms were quite narrow and not the easiest to navigate with big bags.
One of the windows in the room could not close fully.
The private bathroom is in a separate room which meant you had to leave your room and take your keys every time.

Central location excellent.
The young Maid was delightful who provided me with an iron and board and room and bathroom were clean apart from a ring around basin plug that needs periodic brushing/mould spray.
Building site adjacent. Scaffolding noise here. I appreciate nothing hotel can do here. But:
Alarm on our door went off when our adult child used her key to enter room on both nights - well after we were asleep. loud piercing beeps - the duty receptionist seemed to have no idea about why this should happen (room 3) in BC a room for three this was crazy! neither of the parents found sleep easy after 3 because of this.

The room was cosy and comfortable
No lift, did not realise this, and we were on the 3rd floor
The bathroom was not an ensuite. I needed to go out of room, across the hallway for this, another feature I was not aware of
There is construction near by, noise level was noticeable during the day, but it stopped in the evening. Ear plugs were provided
Breakfast was basic but reasonable. Enjoyed the juice and fruit provided

Location was perfect.
Nothing not to like really other than a rather small room.
2.0 / 5.0
I read the description as a private bathroom with a queen bed but when I got there I noticed to access the private bathroom is going through a small hallway that was joined to another's room. I read the description again there was no mention in the description you have to access it by using the hallway that was joined to another room.
I wouldn't class it "private". Anyone could walk in on you. They were good enough to swap rooms without extra charge.

Hearing every sound in the hotel

location
common rooms not cleaned in the two days we were there, bread, butter, jams provided as breakfast, but no toaster.. HUGE over sight

Good location and the shared bathroom was very clean and modern. Breakfast in the room was nice too.
No parking and no staff around.
3.5 / 5.0
Short order availability & location. We also liked the building and the mural on the front. nice windows and doors with balcony that served as second exit. Loved the plants on the balcony and the proximity to a bike shop and 'the warehouse'.
The "breakfast" was minimal, not enough milk and 6 small sachets of instant coffee seemed skimpy. It's like a non-event and should not be advertised as a "breakfast". The upstairs room above us had noisy guests that laughed manically from 3am all the way through to check-out at 10am, making sleep difficult.

The quirkiness, the location, the price.
Smaller room than expected. Walking across public corridor to bathroom - slightly awkward.
Ash tray with old cigarette button on balcony table.

central
4.0 / 5.0
Clean, dry and tidy room. Clean and well kept facilities.
Flexible booking and a decent check out time.
Maybe just the difficult access to the drinking water.
2.0 / 5.0
Clean room, good location.
Noise from building works nearby. Private bath across the public corridor. Worn out bathrobes. Poor water pressure. Hard to find all-day parking nearby, filled up before 7AM.
4.5 / 5.0
location, free parking, beds
back room was hot and windows don’t open

The staff was amazing! They were so helpful. Everything was clean and working out properly. bed was comfortable and breakfast alright.
I missed a place where you can sit around and enjoy your breakfast instead of eating it in your room.
4.0 / 5.0
The room was huge and it had everything you need.
The bathroom shower curtain needed replacing.
3.0 / 5.0
location is great
it’s currently literally in a building site- they give out earplugs upon checking in.
2.5 / 5.0
Ease of access
Construction site behind hotel that was not advised during booking
3.0 / 5.0
Friendly staff, comfy bed and close to town
It said we had a patio but we didn’t it was more like a porch lol
3.5 / 5.0
Location was very handy. The bed was comfortable.
The bedside lamp did not work in our room - no.8
3.5 / 5.0
it was pleasant, good location.
dirty shower, mold in cracks and joins of shower panels and along bottom of lining.
2.0 / 5.0
Was clean and bef was comfortable but standard of pillows was poor
Very tired room , I.e corner of room paint peeling and generally not in good condition. For privacy had to keep only window covered so very claustrophobic. Internet not stable and had to hotspot from phone to do business related work first night. Shower was wet room set up and ended up with most of bathroom floor being wet after shower. As a business traveller's I would not recommend it. Also way overpriced at 295.00 night for what is a 3 star hotel at best. Will not use again.
