De locatie is top. Prachtige omgeving met prachtige wandelmogelijkheden. Het buffet voor ontbijt en dinner is zeer goed met uitgebreide keuzes.

Climate, although winter time the weather was good, tranquil environment, food enjoyable to good.
Decor and upholstery of reception rooms could be improved. A fresh-up could be good.

View.... out of this world.
Dinner excellent choices
Breakfast exceptional.
Felt sorry for your ONE chef making so many omelets. There should have been 2 chefs.
Long queues.
We requested a hard mattress hours before our arrival.
And they definetly did not give us a hard mattress.
It was way too soft.

The location is perfect.
The trail guide Roger was fantastic and patient with us walking slower.
The Chapel is beautiful and always open. That suited us perfectly for early morning prayers.
No Wi-Fi in rooms. The soaps etc in bathroom wasn’t replaced, which made for an unpleasant shower and handwash.

The staff were always cheerful and willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The duvet was rather heavy, but winter had not yet come so it would probably be more suitable then. The views of the mountains are spectacular and extra special at dawn.
Nothing that I can write about.

I cannot recommend this place enough, family first with activities all day and games nights, all 3 meals with and 2 tea times with scones, spacious rooms and super clean, just wow

The view, the food, the ambiance...
We were in one of the front rooms with a view. Our neighbor was smoking on the porch in front of his room. This really spoiled it for us. I suggest you make certain sections of the hotel smoke free, including the outside areas.

Meals are fresh and well presented. During our stay we enjoyed ostrich, beef filet, pork roast, duck, chicken and prawns! There is a daily fresh salad bar, and some vegetarian options for the main meal. Cappuccinos included at breakfast, and tea and scones morning and afternoon. Fires in lounges were kept burning throughout the rainy days.
No internet in rooms. Generator during loadshedding is near the rooms and can be quite loud depending on your room.

Fabulous family hotel set in stunning mountain scenery. Staff were excellent and food fantastic. The whole experience was 10/10. Thank you to management and staff.

Champagne Castle Hotel is set in the most beautiful landscape, right up against the mountains, surrounded by greenery. The rooms were beautifully appointed and well maintained. And the meals...what an incredible spread they laid out for us all every day! Add to this attentive and friendly staff, and this was truly an exceptional holiday. The gala dinner for New Year's Eve was also wonderful, with the staff going to great lengths to decorate to an 80s theme; I was most impressed.

Beautiful location with stunning views
Staff unprofessional and unhelpful. In serious need of training. Will not return or recommend

The location, food and facilities are wonderful. Would recommend.
The staff could improve in their level of helpfulness. I required assistance on two occasions (arrival and departure), and both times had to search for staff willing to assist.

The buffet and meals are always excellent. Very high quality and variety. Staff are always accommodating and friendly. Great service on meals.
The maintenance and general upkeep of the property is deteriorating. The level of cleaning should be improved. I've stayed a number of times at the accommodation but feel that this time the quality is not great.

Very nice large chalets in an absolutely stunning setting for a very good value. Buffet breakfast was good and reasonably priced.
A property of that level of quality should be much better maintained. Lots of little signs of neglect detracted from the overall experiences. Examples included leaking shower, torn up ping pong table, frayed badminton net, etc. Pillows were also extremely soft significantly diminishing our quality of sleep. Lastly, service agent (a White male with an Afrikaans accent) who answered the phone wasn't very helpful and was quite condescending.

Proximity to the mountains
The host George
Tennis Courts in good condition
The Peacocks and Ducks
Filter coffee in the room would be much better than instant coffee sachets

I know this hotel since 1999 and have been there many times over the years. It is located in a very scenic spot and used to be my favorite rustic breakaway place. I have not been there for 10 years. What changed since 1) Hotel massively expanded 2) hotel in bad repair, stained carpets, bowling green shot 3) appliances in chalet not working 4) door in chalet not closing correctly etc ,etc. A lot of minor things not working in general. Place in state of disrepair.
I also did not enjoy the earth-shattering power generator making noise day and night (because of load shedding). The breakfast was very expensive. (And I pay in dollars). When me & guests sat down for breakfast, we were chased away by the staff few minutes later, because "tables at windows are reserved for hotel guests only". (We unfortunately stayed in the lesser chalets. I did not know this).
I have mixed feelings. Will give it one more shot in near future, due to past loyalties. Jacq.
