This lovely appointed 2 bed cottage in the heart of Daylesford is located perfectly to walk to the main strip (Vincent St) or the Daylesford hotel for a wide range of meal options, shopping, or just a beautiful walk around the wide open streets. Very close to The Convent, Cliffy's Emporium, and the Botanical Gardens. So much to see and do even if you just want to park the car and relax on the verandah or walk everywhere. Of course if you wish to drive a little further, you can easily reach The Mill Markets, Hepburn Springs, Daylesford Lake, Lavendula etc - all in very close proximity and definately worth a visit.
This is the second time we have stayed at Maple Daylesford, the first was a few years back and the owner provided a plentiful selection of local produce, such as bread, eggs, jam, chocolate and wine which we love to use and saves a breakfast cost. It seems the property is now booked through Daylesford Accommodations and this attention to detail was missing. For the cost of two nights at a property of this caliber, we were expecting some local provisions however our stay was still delightful, the ambiance of the cottage made up for what we missed.

compact cottage, had everything we needed

Maple Daylesford is a lovely two bedroom cottage that made a perfect base for a 3 night stay. Although it was mid summer we had a cold snap and having the reticulated hot water heating on when we arrived made the place cosy over the entire stay. It was cold enough to justify a fire in the fireplace which added a nice ambience to the lounge room.
With two large bedrooms (both queen beds) and huge bathroom and good kitchen there was everything we could want.
The house is an older property but has retained the old charm while having all the mod cons needed.
Its location is perfect, a short walk into town or up the hill to the Convent (amazing) or to the many shops in town, or to Cliffy's for breakfast or Bistro Terrior, Beppe's or the Boathouse for dinner.
Its not clear where to park as the spot beside the house is actually for the property behind. The people in the place behind complained so the agents texted me, and while there was space for them to park, I did recall some instruction somewhere in the fine print but couldn't find it when we checked in. A small sign on driveway, or even a notice at the key lock box would be helpful.

A very nice cottage in a great location
It would have been nice to have a welcome book giving details relating to the property eg. How to work the heating system.

Location was ok
Daylesford Country Retreats are the most unhelpful, patronising and dismissive rental agents in Daylesford. If you want a holiday where you know you’ll be backed by an agent if things go sour - don’t use them. Greedy, selfish, liars.

Loved the having a cosy fire for the cold weather

The fire was good it was cosy . great location
the key lock was painful and frustrating to use . My Wife felt the mattress was very ordinary especially for the price we paid

The location was excellent. We could walk to all the attractions. We both loved the bathroom. Just gorgeous.
The spa bath caused such a mess. I'm worried that the water will damage the wall and skirting boards over time.

not enough firewood provided for our stay

The kitchen was lacking a bit, but did not affect our stay as we didn’t intend to cook.

Amazing location. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and living room, complimentary wine! Huge bathroom! Prompt response from hosts when we had queries about the heating and was easily resolved.
Shower head was more of a handheld device and my friends said the spa bubbles in the bath didn’t work - only minor things.

The bathroom was very roomy. The bedrooms were great..Loved the style of the house. Nice quiet neighborhood, short walk to the main street. Would recommend it.
The heater in the bedroom closest to the kitchen was noisey.

Location was good and muesli was ok.
The builders at the back of the property were very noisy in the driveway next to bedroom waking me up in the morning. Also wasn’t very clean.... dog food on the floor... hair in the bed. Had to leave early because of lockdown so payed for a night I didn’t get to stay... was called by the owner only a few minutes after the announcement and told to leave and had disconnected our wifi almost straight away.... we were watching a movie with the wifi connection to the tv.

Great location, plenty of space and a beautiful haven in winter with warm fires and furnishings. Good communication with the host's agent and no issue was too much a concern. The bottle of wine and breakfast treats were a special bonus (we forgot to eat for breakfast but it was a lovely gesture).
Perhaps I am spoilt by my own bed but neither my partner or I found the beds to be too comfortable however the electric blankets made up a huge part!

Such a central location to everything and we were able to walk everywhere. Delightfully decorated and so comfortable.
Maybe the instructions about the Heating as I didn’t want to touch the thermostat and the first night it was so hot 🥵
