friendly helpful staff, great breakfast
shower tired, not really hot enough
4.5
Price is good
Juice was very runny. Portions very small.
Bit of confusion when ordering as to what the portion size would be.
We have stayed here before and the breakfast has definitely changed

Well run hotel, efficient and friendly staff. Clean. Very good breakfast.
Little room for improvements. Eg bedrooms furniture. Could do with more hangers and bathroom Could do with some towel hooks and shampoo and shower gel self in the shower
4.0
Rooms were an excellent size
We were fine with the stairs but others may struggle and small steps
4.5
breakfast and lunch was excellent plenty of room and space
there was nothing that we did not like

The hotel was easy to find in a delightful little town, with access to walking tracks just across the road so you can go to see the New Forest ponies. The staff were very helpful, the room was bigger than we expected which was great, and it was very comfortable and clean. We dined at the hotel for an evening meal and breakfast, both were ok but not breaking any culinary records. Overall, it was fine though.
As we were on the ground floor (very convenient) there was a room above us and the floorboards squeaked. The occupants upstairs got up a lot so it was a busy night!!
4.0
Location for walks and town excellent
Having to order breakfast the day before. Would have been nice to have cereal/fruit choice.
3.5
Very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Spacious room. Great location. Restaurant menu- lovely Nepalese curries and freshly made waffles for breakfast . Didn't come with a dog., but loved that it is dog friendly with designated areas. Efficient service at mealtimes. . Deluxe room very spacious. Very comfy bed, well positioned TV
Spa bath filters not cleaned - residue after use. Areas around shower frame not clean. Hospitality tray basic - would have appreciated more than 1 biscuit each over 2 day stay. Not real orange juice at breakfast. Lack of choice of beers at bar. Room decor felt a bit 'cold': grey/earth tones, but felt it needed a bit of colour. For money paid, ioverall it lacked the sense of luxury and pamper we had hoped for.
4.5
Room was lovely, staff couldn't do more very professional, breakfast was very good cooked fresh to order. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Would recommend and will definitely stay again if in the area.

The location was perfect for us. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was superb.
I found the mattress a bit firm for me but that’s a personal preference.
4.0
Liked the location and room was very roomy. Very close to a range of restaurants and pubs. Also close to the moors.
The stairs were a bit narrow plus the steps were very narrow.
3.5
Location was perfect
The room/bed was a little bit small
4.0
Room was good very clean.
The breakfast was average. No cereals or fresh fruit.
3.0
Location and staff behavior
No lift. No help with luggage. No bottles of water. Bathroom shower wasn’t good. Water was clogging in the tub
5.0
Used to stay there before it was sold in 2017. After that we hadn't returned because of Covid. It was nice to see that the overall feel of the hotel hadn't changed at all. It had all just been given a bit of a spruce up. After nearly 15 years of staying there. Well definitely be returning.
Nothing. Everything was great.

Staff very pleasant and great location

The bedroom was beautifully comfortable, the breakfast and service in the bar was fab, staff super friendly and considerate, location is perfect. It was very clean and we had a really lovely stay. we would come again
4.5
Breakfast were fine with a excellent selection, our room was comfortable, with a hot tub jacuzzi bath.
Lightweight bedding ,as room was very warm, and being on a busy road having a window open was not an option. There was no room cleaning or bed making.
5.0
Amazing friendly staff - every one of them. We asked to eat breakfast outside and it was no trouble at all.
Some sun umbrellas so we could sit outside
4.5
Comfortable room, spotlessly clean and tidy at the quiet rear of the house away from the main road. Enjoyed the food both at breakfast and evening dinner which were nutritious, well prepared and served by pleasant and friendly staff. Receptionist very helpful.
Cannot think of anything detrimental. The main road is quite busy but it is the A35, not noticeable when indoors.
3.5
Breakfast excellent. Staff lovely.
Changing the towels daily would good.

the staff were very helpful and pleasant
the one thing i did not like was the fire door at the top of the stairs, because i had to carry a small dog upstairs, but without that door is still hard to open. it needs o floor magnet is required to keep it open.
3.5
Location was good, staff friendly, food nice.
Lovely outside area.
Room on ground floor was noisy as opposite reception desk and by the front door.
Would have liked a shelf unit in shower cubicle for soaps/shampoo etc
Shower was weak and temperature was very temperamental.
We liked the idea of pre-order breakfast main. However buffet style cereals, fruits, yoghurt, pastries definitely missing.
Weren't asked if wanted more tea/coffee.
Dining room at breakfast was very dark.
It was more like a B&B rather than a hotel.
4.0
Our room was spacious and clean with a smart TV, good tea/coffee facilities and spa bath. The hotel is in a great location to walk into Lyndhurst and out into the New Forest wilderness. The staff were really helpful and lovely. We had breakfast and dinner, which were both great.
Unfortunately, although the room decor was new and contemporary, the actual fabric of the hotel is a bit tired. The doors/locks were old fashioned, the dining area was dark and the floors were so creaky that you could hear people walking about upstairs quite loudly. The beds also seemed to be sprung mattresses, which aren't to everyone's taste.
5.0
all excellent
no problems
4.5
great location, very friendly and accommodating staff
my bed had a ridge in it and wasn’t 100% comfortable, my husbands side was fine!
4.5
Staff were very friendly and helpful. They catered for our dog and made us feel really welcome. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, very happy with our stay

Cannot comment on breakfasr or dinner, but have stayed twice previously and breakfast has been excellant with a great choice. Room was lovely and spacious.
Nothing to dislike.
4.0
good breakfasts. plenty of parking. comfortable bed. friendly staff. within walking distance from town centre.
We were on top floor and sloping ceilings caused some problems for my partner as he’s quite tall, especially in the bathroom.
3.0
Great location. Comfortable room. Clean. coffee and tea making facilities. Hairdryer
Charge £6 per night for dog. Only concession for dog was a bowl of water in the porch. We were given a room in the loft conversion, do 2 flights of stairs to come down for the dog night toilet session.
2.5
Basic but ok … more choice would have been nice
Maintenance issues - sink blocked, tap came off, bathroom doorhandle broken, bath room needed refurb… constant smell of food. New male receptionist brilliant
