Good menu & excellent food & service in restaurant.
Nothing not to like
4.1
Location was amazing and food in the restaurant excellent
Room was very hot (2nd floor) and fan was on a timer, cutting out every 120 minutes, not so great at 2am, 4am etc
4.1
All food and drink was exceptional staff were attentive could not fault the place in any way a big thanks to everyone
I can't really see how things could be better

Our room was lovely and quite large, with a delightful view of the village of Upper Sheringham. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was of excellent quality too. The hotel is handily located in a pretty village just a couple of kilometres off the main North Norfolk coast road, the A149 - easy to get into Sheringham, Cromer, etc.
Despite all the big plusses mentioned above, the cost for one night's stay (NOT including breakfast for the two of us) was really rather steep for what this hotel provides. It was a weekend day which I know makes a difference - but next weekend I'll be staying in a business-standard hotel at Gatwick Airport as I need to catch an early morning flight, and the cost for that is 65% of what I paid for the room at the Dales. There should really also be an option to include breakfast in an overnight package.
That said, we did enjoy our stay here. :-)

We have stayed at the Dales on a number of occasions and have been very happy otherwise we would not return.
Unfortunately this time there were a number of minor issues which individually would not call for adverse comment but this time, We were not offered help to our room (I was on elbow crutches), there was no Hotel info sheet in our room (meal times desk call number etc), at dinner waiters forgot bread rolls (butter on table) forgot to ask for any drinks order (had to ask for wine list), waiters had to ask which customer had ordered which meal and then served the man first. When we booked in we were asked if we would like our room serviced and/or the bed turned down, I thought this rather strange as we were visiting a 4 star establishment
4.1
lovely position and old world charm
very good staff
for the price charged we though breakfast should of been included it was nearly £15 per head too so £60 (just under )on top for 2 days we thought excessive nice hotel but I think this was too expensive .

really nice place, great location, friendly staff, cater for dogs too
a little pricey
4.1
Food exceptional. The room was comfortable, carpet not spotless but considering we had a room that allows dogs it was good. Possibly the best thing about the hotel are the friendly obliging staff certain aspects of the room eg
Certain aspects of the room eg wardrobe door very stiff but really no real complaints

I can't stress enough how lovely the staff were. So attentive and genuinely interested in making our stay as good as it could be. The room was lovely and very comfy. The features in and around the property were beautiful. Some of the best food I have tasted as well, you will not be disappointed.
Nothing springs to mind.

Superb dinner. Excellent room.
A bit cold in the restaurant during the frosty weather; breakfast food was not up to the standard of the excellent dinner
4.1
We had dinner. The food, presentation and staff was excellent. Nothing was to much trouble and the staff were happy and relaxed.
Just thought the room was very basic and lighting was not good.

I always prefer a self service buffet at breakfast.
Great service and very friendly.
Kippers were from a packet not the real thing.
4.1
lovely location, staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was very good.
Dog hairs in the room. Tap in the bathroom difficult to use without getting soaked. Disappointing decor in the room compared to the exterior of the hotel. Had to replenish tea making products twice.

A faultless experience from arrival to departure.
Staff could not be more friendly and obliging.
Food was of an exceptional standard (and I am fussy!)
Lovely atmosphere for those wishing to unwind.
Couldn't recommend more highly.

The place was lovely, very accommodating.
The food excellent.
The staff cheery, helpful and very obliging.

The room we had was obviously used for guests with dogs, but we weren't notified of that. There was a doggy smell from the carpet and the en suite had whaffs of drain, even after maintenance had been. The outside patio was a lovely area with fabulous views, but the decking was dirty, broken and slippery. Wardrobe door was stiff and hid TV when opened. The room was a bit cramped.
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and it ticks all the boxes for your typical country house hotel with a great dining room, lounge and bar. The staff are friendly and helpful and it sits on the doorstep of glorious parkland. And on previous stays, we have been more than delighted with our rooms.
4.1
Dinner was excellent, in the library and we could have our dogs with us. We were also offered breakfast in the same room which was much appreciated. The grounds were wonderful and were loved by our dogs who were very interested in the squirrels !
If there had been coat pegs in the room rather than having to hang them in the wardrobe. Perhaps the tea making facilities would have been better placed on the dressing table, it would have been easier to use. But these are minor things we really could not fault the staff and the hotel
4.1
Room very comfortable and good size. A little noisy as near kitchen and lift. But very hot, we had windows constantly open and used the fan provided. The food in the Restaurant was exceptional and very good value. Bre4akfast was ok, but the room price was a bit on the expensive side
A little more privacy at the reception desk rather than being in the bar. More information on walks from the hotel. We could see the sea, but it wasn't a great vista. Room 7
4.1
Nice attitude of the staff with little experience. Good location.
The price was very high for what was offered. Booking.com stipulated a bath in the bathroom. There was not and it was a struggle to get the right room.
I think the property has a high opinion of something that was nice but ordinary for the price quoted.
4.1
Food was good and accomodation comfortable. The room overlooking the grounds with a balcony was lovely. Staff were freindly and efficient.
4.1
Lovely setting and had a Tesla charging point which was fantastic
Poor breakfast for £15 ahead
Bathroom smelt
4.1
Nice room, great location set within parkland. Easy parking, effient reception.
Evening meal was a little disappointing.
Stained tablecloth had to be changed whils we vacated table.
Serviettes were damp, borderline wet, we had wet knees as a result of the meal
Lobster Thermidor was over cooked and tough.
4.1
Great find. Lovely location. The staff were really helpful, pleasant and friendly.
Some of the Decor needed to be more in keeping with the style and quality of the hotel
4.1
The building was stunning. The location very good.
First room was apparently a superior room at £270 a night it wasn't acceptable. Changed to another room which was a superior room but still not worth £270 a night.
