Breakfast was very nice, served in a lovely sunroom. Jam, croissants, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, assorted fruits, yogurts, etc
5.0 / 10.0
The breakfast was delicious. The coffee was excellent. The terrain was beautiful from a distance. The pool table was a nice diversion after a long day. The access to the kitchen was appreciated. There was plenty of property to explore.
The smell of new paint was mildly offensive and ever-present, however, the painter was quite friendly. Some amenities were only made accessible after we took the initiative to ask or find them ourselves. There were dead frogs in the pool that we had to skim out along with an abundance of leaves with the skimmer we found by the pool. Thank God. The pathways and gardens were neglected and somewhat hazardous. There was clear evidence that they were once quite beautiful, but the natural beauty did shine through. The beds......well, what can I say. The doubled bed had pillows that looked really good but were quite uncomfortable. The small bed was inadequate at best. It had a rubber mat to ensure one's urine did not damage the mattress. It was lumpy and like sleeping on a stack of hay covered in a vinyl tablecloth. Definitely not appropriate for an adult. Overall the facility is in a general state of disrepair with wire exposed at outlets, a hole in the tub patched with duct tape, and a leaking radiator in the bathroom. I believe there is a chance the the state of disarray may have been due to back-to-back weddings which over-burdened the staff. Lovely staff.

a beautiful peaceful place in the campagne

Location and chateau were stunning.
False advertising of beds,( had to buy an additional room for my son.)
air con being switched off by a master switch by owner’s son by 10.30 pm. When questioned I was told that it wasn’t allowed at night!! ( when else are you using a bedroom while on holiday? ) I booked it specifically because they advertise 2 double beds and air conditioning.
The towels in bathrooms were thread bare, tiny and had been washed to the point they were hard and well past acceptable. Both our toilet seats were broken, my son’s shower head was disgusting and clogged up. There was a hole in a cheap plastic bath with duct tape over it in my room. There were damp stains around the window. Lumpy pillows. (Lucky we brought our own.)
Very arrogant man ( owner’s son , I believe. ) only interested in taking more money for an additional room instead of trying to help solve the problem.
Arguing, that the room wasn’t advertised with a double bed and a large double bed. Unfortunately for him, I have the evidence of this from their page on booking.com. I attach a photo. What should have been an enjoyable experience was ruined by the owner especially. I can’t comment on breakfast as we left as soon as we woke and didn’t want to stay a second longer.
Since then the owners have ignored emails from the booking advisor asking to explain what went wrong.
I would not recommend at all except for the exterior which is Devine.

this place is a gem. the pool size is luxurious. hosts are friendly and all one needs to be. the only challenge: that it gets more and more visitors. we have been there now 3 seasons in a row, and each time it is great.

Great location. An old building with comfort. Susan was very nice.
Breakfast was made of local food and the jams were so good.
You must try at local restaurant a glass of Vouvray.

Breakfast was very good, with croissants, fruit and English breakfast tea!
The chateau was spectacular with a beautiful pool and excellent furnishings.
There were no toiletries in the bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom would have been a bonus.
The upholstery on both easy chairs in the bedroom was threadbare and in need of repair

Beautiful place in lovely area of France.
When we arrived the hostess greeted us with oh you were lucky to get a room tonight as we have a wedding tomorrow! In other words we are too busy to be bothered with you! We didn't see anyone after initial meeting and did our own thing.
