My two-night stay at Gold Rush Hotel was a delightful experience. The room boasted a wonderfully comfortable queen-size bed, and the electric blanket was a godsend, especially for someone accustomed to Darwin's warmer climate. The high ceilings added to the spacious feel of the room, which was impeccably clean. I appreciated the convenience of the various dispensers on the wall, offering everything from shampoo to shaving cream. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. A highlight of my stay was dining at Mimso Kitchen, conveniently located next door. The food was exquisite, and I highly recommend it to fellow guests. Overall, a fantastic stay with top-notch amenities and service. I'll definitely be returning!

Old fashioned charm. Lovely location, good views.
The restaurant needs a major overhaul. The decor detracts from the food and the menu is confusing, with too many varied choices.
4.3
The price for overnight was excellent. The room was spacious with a kitchenette which was very neat and clean. The room looked to have been recently refurbished. Very handy having a restaurant on-site which was open on a major public holiday. Food and pricing at the restaurant was very good too
I didn’t really like the bed positioned right at the door, it could possibly have been moved over, otherwise, hotel room suited all our needs.
4.3
Very clean and new facilities. Had all the little extras. Just out of Queenstown on eastern side. Has restaurant as well, but must book as fills up quickly.

Very Good

Quiet location with plenty of car parking outside rooms. Lovely dinner from the on site restaurant with very friendly restaurant staff. On site laundry with a coin operated washing machine was handy. A clothesline would be a great addition. Rooms are all on one level so no stairs to climb.
Unrenovated room with dated decor which looks like it has not been updated since the 1970s. The view from our room was over the junkyard next door which was very unpleasant. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and we woke up each morning with sore backs.
4.3
The room was very clean which is always great. Beds were comfortable & everything was as it was advertised.
Difficult to sleep as the outside lights streamed through the blinds.
4.3
Clean, comfortable and spacey

It was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in! Cosy, warm and spotless! The grounds were immaculate, and we can't wait to visit again and try your restaurant at a more busy time.
4.3
Good relaxing, quiet and peaceful place!
4.3
Very clean. Dishes were shining and they claim to sterilise all utensils.
The room could do with an upgrade to appear more modern. The pillows were hard.
4.3
Clean facilities and good location close to the town centre, food venues and main tourist attractions.
From reading the 'welcome' pack it appears there have been issues with guests in the past, and the words, don't dos and penalties are expressed in a very cold unwelcoming way. The curtains don't block the external property lights at night, and voices from adjoining rooms are apparent when occupied.
4.3
The room was a great size & had a separate kitchenette area with a microwave, kettle, and everything required to eat in & wash up.
4.3
for the price, the cleanliness standard is good.
a little old to our liking. but still quite well maintained
4.3
very close to historic railway. easy 10 min walk to town. restaurant on site.
4.3
Clean and great amenities. Easy checkout, staff were understanding that we had to checkout really early in the morning so they were very accomodating. The staff also were great and provided some great local restaurant recommendations.
It was a little bright at night from the lights coming in.

A return visit after 20+ years! Just does what it does well. On site restaurant takeaway service and food very good.

facilities were excellent and terrific value for the money we paid. very clean and staff were so lovely. everything was so well thought of in the facilities also. the adjoining restaurant had delicious food and wonderful staff. would highly recommend
nothing

nice room , comfortable beds
air con leaked but when we put it off it was all ok

Clean. Friendly staff. Good location. Good price.
4.3
Good, very clean, there was easy to order (and reasonably priced) take-away dinners from the restaurant delivered to the room. Very easy access to Queenstown attractions. Recommended.
Laundry access was after 2pm and by the time we got back in, reception was closed and I could not get coins to use machines.
4.3
Clean and convenient

The shower was great, plenty of pressure and handheld.
The screeching noise caused by the person taking a shower in the adjoining room, the plumbing needs some maintenance and I mentioned this to the owner, but as friendly as he was, he didn’t make much effort to fix the problem to improve the quality of our stay. This noise occurred about midnight while we were trying to sleep, also many other guests were very noisy and inconsiderate as they arrived very late in the evening.
4.3
Room was as we expected, clean tidy and beds comfy
Staff were not welcoming at all. We arrived 4 minutes before 2pm after a long drive and when we walked up to the office we were told "we'll be open in 5 minutes" and sent back to sit in the car and wait. 4 minutes. It's not like we were asking for early check in and certainly didn't make a great 1st impression.
