Great location. Very comfortable bed.
Room was an attic room and for me a bit tight space wise, kept banging my head on the ceiling. Bathroom needs a little TLC.
4.5
Lovely place on the High Street and close to the beach. Friendly host with a great bar downstairs.

The accommodation suited my need and I was so pleased with where we were based so close to everything we needed. Our host was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed.
I won't do that at this time

The location was great
This is a bar with rooms. We booked 4 rooms, one room had a hole in the window and the door lock did not work. We were offered another room with a lock that also did not work. There is no seperation from the bar to the rooms and anyone can wander upstairs at any time. so having an unlocked door all night is not safe. All the rooms were tired and needed redecoration and were not very clean. The two upstairs rooms do not have full head height. The owner insisted on a payment when we arrived even though I was sure I had paid booking.com. It turned out there was a double payment and the owner has refused to refund from their end. There will be a two week delay before I get any refund from booking. com and it has taken the best part of a day to sort out. Both the hotel and booking.com have been very disappointing

we liked the location and the style of the building
No breakfast around, the WC didn't flush very well at all, super small shower space, very small room

Great for location as it's right near the bus stop most of the walking party used every day. Warm welcome from the staff including the proprietor and a complimentary drink. Good bedding and furniture with a bit of character. I'd have liked a desk or table big enough to write at as well as hold the TV and kettle etc but realise most people might not need this. A leak in the ceiling was dealt with promptly and effectively. The Safe box was easy to operate.
Room was poorly lit, coffee cups and spoons permanently stained, dust on these and the kettle, a loo that flushed properly only after three attempts. No one came to empty bins or check supplies of toiletries and coffee/tea, though I was invited to ask for the latter as needed. I was also apparently expected to make my own bed - a wise thing during the pandemic, but has it become the new normal? Overall, poor value for £85 a night.

The location is great - we hiked around IOW and completely exhausted when we arrived. A good place to rest and have everything we needed. Close to all of the shops and beach. Room seems to be clean and tidy.
The hotel owner is extremely rude. He made us to stand in the shop in front of people and started to ‘give us lesson’ (we literally just arrived and met him for the first time). The hotel owner mentioned that other people ruined his room which has nothing to be done with me, just because I am Asian, he made us promise to keep everything clean and tidy brutally. People in the bar was laughing and I felt absolutely HUMILIATED! He looks intoxicated. The room was close to the main road and quite small, which means at night it is extremely noisy. I do not feel this worth an £85. If it’s not because I was absolutely exhausted and had no choice, I would not stay here.

There was a bath and it was central to the town.
Frosty reception when I arrived, and i was swifty asked to check out before 10am (it said 11am on the website)so the proprietary could make an appointment. On line it said it was 51 pound a night and I was charged 85. The room was pretty grubby and hadn't been cleaned properly. I general... bad.

beautiful building, loved the restaurant underneath, had everything you needed in your room. loved the entrance and seating areas in hall. We had the small room but didn’t feel cramped but would love the larger one next time

Great host, good location. The property was in the center of Ventnor, there was a good bar downstairs, and a nice little garden in the rear. I enjoyed it, it hit the spot.

Brian the host was amazing! Lovely welcome!
Had such a fun couple of days, lovely bar area, locals so friendly.
Room was very clean but very small, the bathroom was even smaller with a very small bath!

the location was good within the town. but the owner is horrid and unprofessional I do not recommend any one to stay here.
DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner Brian is rude & aggressive. I have never been to a place where I have been treated so horrendously, I had to have a conversation with the owner at the end of the stay and make him apologise, which he did begrudgingly. but felt like I was talking to a naughty school boy not the owner of the hotel. unprofessional rude and down right disgraceful.
again do not stay here!

Nice little hotel attached to the vine bar
3.5
Staff were very accommodating with keys left in a mutually acceptable location for an arrival time of my choosing. Room was comfy and reasonably furnished.
Slightly disappointed that there were no provisions for a breakfast, despite the accommodation being above what appeared to be a very nice restaurant - not sure having guests for breakfast would detract from the restaurant in any way? Room was comfy but dated furniture and could do with revamping (poor bathroom sealant etc!) very soon!!!
3.5
The location was great. The room was OK, small but ok for 3 nights. Brian the proprietor was very good and we had a laugh in the bar.
Would of preferred a slightly bigger room.
We had to help ourself to new cups and tea and coffee, usually the room is checked each day and they are normally replenished by the housekeeper.
3.5
It was conveniently positioned in the high street. It has its own little pub run by the owner, Brian, who makes an excellent host; very friendly and hospital.
Unfortunately we had the smallest room which would be fine for a single traveller but a tight space for a couple.
