Albergue Casa dò Sardão is a gem on Portuguese Camino. The atmosphere is fantastic, chill and cosy. You have all amenities you may need, and the house is so beautiful you would love to stay more than one night. The staff is super kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Cozy place next to the Camino way. Beautiful view, big kitchens where you can cook. Nice relax rooms and garden. The owner kind and helpful. If you would like to rest an extra day during the camino, this is the perfect hostel.
The bathroom and the toalett opens the from the room because of this, so there is no good smell in the room.

Staff was exceptionally welcoming and thoughtful. Many little sparks of pleasure - the passionflowers, the friendly horses, the kittens playing, the frozen healthy dinners with an Honesty Box (especially as the walk into the village was very hot and few options there for me). The sunset on a rural landscape with the ocean in the far distance, the guidebooks in the two lounges I used, the old farming tools for decor, and much more.
Guests smoking outside the dorm door; horse/sheep droppings on the lawn.

I would give this property a 15 if possible. The owner Hugo is amazing. One of the best albuergues I have stayed in over the 4 Caminos that I have completed. The property is fantastic and welcoming, has a great vibe to it. Hugo was very accommodating, helping and answering whatever questions that we had. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. I cannot recommend enough.

Casa de Sardao is a beautiful place, run by great people. Hugo is a lovely host. The place is about 20 mins walk from the ocean, and in the village there's a pastelaria, a small (but well stocked, vegan stuff included!) grocery store with adjacent bar/cafe. The crowning glory in the village is Restaurante do Sergio. It's literally the best 15 euro I've ever spent in a restaurant. Unfussy, delicious food! We had great starter (prawns, salad, bread, olives) and, for the main, the most generous serving of melt-in-the-mouth lamb served on a large bed of perfectly cooked potatoes. The doggie bag I took back absolutely set me up for breakfast the next day! The hosts were lovely, warm, and their English was very good, and the cook and waitress are a lovely Indian couple who were super kind, too. Also, in Casa they have frozen organic meals available at a very decent price. We can't wait to return there! Highest possible recommendation for Casa de Sardao!

This place is a real home with so much warmth for every traveller. It is the perfect place to slow down, breathe and contemplate life. It was more than a stay and was more of an experience to be there.
I was touched by every person I’ve met there, it was as if the place has a magical touch. Even food cooked in the place is transformed by the beautiful ceramics. Thank you to Hugo and every kind person from Casa do Sardão.
Much love.

Home made pastries available for purchase; coffee wine tea available for purchase on site. Thoughtful. Absolutely love the animals on the property, the glassed space that looks out to the greenery. Honestly best value and details of hostel I stayed on the camino. What a treat after torrential rain for days.
Nothing I don't like
