Adaria and Howard were wonderful!
5.0
Quite remote so needed a car for transport and the ride from Mobay is quite difficult - twisty and lots of potholes - takes adventurous drivers. Thats the downside. The house and grounds ate spectacularly beautiful - birds and flowering shrubs all around and the pool in the front yard was marvelous- private, minimally chlorinated and clean.
Our caretaker, Howard, was wonderful and his mom Eana was a terrific cook.
Our host Adaria was extremely responsive and helpful.
You must be willing to accept that it is very laid back and quite third world which we loved but it would not be for everyone.

The property gives a spectacular view of the sea from a well situated balcony.
The balcony and living/dining furniture is comfortable and is well suited for a small family gathering.
The property would have even greater potential with further modernization of the some of the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom amenities.

The stay was great and it was not mentioned in the add but you get a chef included with your study. The house is beautiful and relaxing with a great host. Thank you for sharing your home with my family.

Adaria was wonderful in helping us make all of the arrangements for our rental and quick in answering all of our questions. The property is a little removed from the Treasure Beach area and a car is necessary, but this also ensured no road noise and much peace and quiet. There is a lovely, basically private beach just 5 minutes down the road. The swimming pool was perfect for cooling off in the afternoon heat. Nadine and Ena prepared several fantastic meals for us and Howard took great care of the property. We would rent here again.

A treasure to stay at
We enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and peaceful location around 5 to 10 minutes walk from the beautiful turtle beach. Highly recommend. Noise privacy may be an issue for some as the walls of each room does not reach the ceiling. Otherwise, lovely sunset views are to be enjoyed every day on breezy verandah. Host, Adaria, was very friendly and responsive.

Family Memories
Let's list the fantastic parts of this property:
the house
the pool
the quiet beach area
the sunsets
the great meals provided by wonderful cooks
the cleanliness and safeness provided by the groundskeeper
the forested hills in the back
Moving on to the area:
the tours provided by Treasure Tours including
boat ride to a private island to snorkel, catch lobster to bake on the beach
boat ride(s) to Pelican Bar for Red Stripes
day trip to Lovers Leap..try the wings and fritters
day trip to Ricks Cafe Negril...cliff jumping and great conversations
But by far the best part of the trip was the people!
One Love seems to be a true theme at Sandy Rose Villa and Treasure Beach.
Adaria has a great property with great support.
Nadine and Ena filled our bellies with wonderful Jamaican meals:
Jerk Pork, beef stew, Jerk Chicken, and great breakfast which included the best banana pancakes.
Adaria,
Thank you for all the memories provided by your property and the people you picked to make our stay one we will never forget.

THIS is the way to visit Jamaica! The house was beautiful, clean, and spacious, with a pool all to ourselves and a gorgeous beach in walking distance. The family who works for the homeowner made us amazing food and saw to our every need - from shopping to transportation. We loved our bike trips to Treasure Beach, sampling the food and atmosphere at Jakes, Jack Sprats, and 77 West. Fantastic reggae concerts on Sunday night just across the street. And my son even played some pick up soccer with the local kids at the sports center. In all, a fun, relaxing, safe, and delicious vacation.

Six of us stayed for 7 nights at the Sandy Rose Villa in early January 2019. We have never been out of the US for vacation before and we wanted a memorable experience with Jamaicans not on a resort. Wow, this trip exceeded my expectations!
Starting with the staff who were so welcoming on the very first night. They greeted us at the van where the staff and the driver took our things upstairs for us. The cooks, Ena and Nadine, were absolutely amazing and I wish I could have a couple weeks to cook with them and learn a few things. Yes, they were that good! They also communicated to Captain Neil and Teddy to set up our boat trips. They assisted us in making a local phone call for the driver to come get us last minute to go to a street dance.
We visited YS Falls, Black River (saw dolphins on the way and crocs on the river), Floyd's Pelican Bar, Accompong on their annual celebration, and sunny island. We used the refreshing pool nearly every single day. We ate fresh lobster on a couple of excursions which was amazing. We had a bonfire on the beach on our last night. Amazing!
If you are looking for a vacation that is away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, this place is perfect. There are drivers that you can get to take you where you'd like to go. Both drivers are great. I wouldn't want to navigate those roads!
The home is simple and cozy. I slept well here and that says a lot. We felt comfortable and never threatened. Howard is the grounds keeper and ensures the safety of the guests while at the house. The dog on the grounds is good at keeping you safe too :)
While every vacation has a least favorite part, we all say it was the lack of warmer water for the shower. It's solar heated so the luke warm water didn't last long. For us, that wasn't a huge issue though and we would most certainly stay again. I can't wait to see our new friends in Treasure Beach again!
Seriously consider a stay here...it's worth every penny and more. Also, don't forget to tip the staff, they work hard!

Our family of 5 (kids age 13, 10, and 7) had an incredible time on our first trip to Jamaica staying at Sandy Rose. The house is perfect, well set up and taken care of, and in an unbelievable location. Treasure Beach is a quiet and very cool get away from it all kind of place, and Sandy Rose even more so. Ocean access is right down the road and pretty much your own private beach, and the pool is great for kids. Ena and Nadine are outstanding cooks, and Howard is the consummate tour guide. There are a ton of activities in the area, including a trip to pristine YS Falls, and a boat trip up the Black River with Lobster lunch. We really can't recommend it enough.

We stayed at this villa for a week in July and had the most amazing holiday. Ena, Nadine and Howard (the staff) were truly fantastic. Ena and Nadine provided some of the best meals we have ever tasted and Howard made sure our 15 year old son felt at home, by inviting us all to a local cricket match and inviting our son to play football with the local village team. All of the locals were so friendly we truly felt at home. The villa itself is well kitted out with everything you need and the owner, Adaria, was absolutely fantastic with regular contact throughout and answering my many and varied questions prior to our arrival. The villa is off the beaten track and it would have been a good idea for us to hire a car rather than rely on the local taxi company, which turned out to be more expensive than we expected. However, now we have experienced a Jamaican holiday, would definitely return to this villa in the future (with a hire car!) and can highly recommend a stay here. If you want to experience local culture and immerse into local life, Treasure Beach is the place for you. The endless beaches are almost deserted and there are hardly any other tourists, which we loved.

Tropical Paradise - Great for Families
My family and I had such a wonderful time at Sandy Rose Villa. The house and the grounds are so beautiful. We loved the pool and the private beach across the lane. This area of Jamaica (Treasure Beach) is so quiet and relaxing - There are good restaurants and bars in town - especially Jack Sprat and Jakes, great little shops and stores, and many other nice beaches within a few minutes car ride. We can't say enough about the staff (Ena and Howard) who are so helpful and Ena cooks some of the best food we've ever tasted. We will be back soon.

Laid Back and Tranquil
Our stay at Sandy Rose was wonderful! Miss Ena, Nadine, Kamar and Bunny treated us like extended family. The meals were amazing! Nadine is a wonderful cook. Her boiled green banana salad and ripe banana pancakes are definate musts! Miss Ena's husband is a fisherman so we had the freshest fish and Bunny isn't too bad with a speargun. He caught some amazing lobsters for us.
We had a very relaxing time. Enjoying the natural beauty of the area and going for daily swims in the pool.
Our group consistent of myself, my husband our two kids (2mos and 18mos) my cousin and her husband and my mother-in-law and her husband. The ladies kept the house spic and span and make amazing meals. Nadine was so great with our little girl (2mos). We really appreciated all her help.
During our stay there were 2 tropical storms that left us without power . The ladies were great and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. A backup generator would have been good. But this is one of the risks you take when you travel during hurricane season (July-Oct.

PIECE OF HEAVEN!!
Sandy Rose Villa, an absolute piece of heaven!! This villa is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming!!! The villa is clean and the grounds are well cared for! The staff, Miss Ena, Nadine,Camar, and Christopher are second to none!! With the help of the staff we were able to enjoy fresh from the market, fruit and vegetables! The staff are happy to take you to the markets to make things a little easier...lol! Miss Ena cooks up wonderful local meals, her banana pancakes are delicious, not to mention her jerk pork and curried goat!!!
The pool is so refreshing on those hot afternoons, along with the poolside cabanna for shade, and Christopher keeps the pool sooo clean and clear, no smell of chlorine there!!!!! Lots and lots of beautiful trees, cactus, and flowering shrubs cover the grounds, all thanks to Christopher's hard work! The beach across the path is magnificent, with breathtaking sunsets!!!
Our tour guide and driver, Kenny, was amazing, he took us wherever we wanted to go,he was an instrumental part of our experience!! He was always prompt, courteous, and very professional, he is an asset to Treasure Tours! He works very hard, navigating those roads...haha, with the patience of a saint! We hope he is appreciated!
We enjoyed our visit to the Appleton Rum Factory, also YS Waterfalls is a treat, we had fun doing the zip-line and swimming in the cool crystal waters of the falls...beautiful!!! We had the privilege of going to a streetdance, which we really enjoyed, so cool to be able to party with the locals!
I could go on and on about our stay at the Sandy Rose Villa, to say the least it was more then we could have hoped for! We've made new friends for life, and cannot wait to return to the wonderful people of Treasure Beach and the comforts of the Sandy Rose Villa!!! Till we meet again...
