The room far exceeded my expectations! It was HUGE! Very comfortable, quiet and felt very luxurious. We were delighted to come back to it after exploring Galway City. Parking right outside was a bonus too.
Breakfast was extra, we didn't take it. The room was quite pricey considering no breakfast. However it felt like a 5 star hotel and Galway is expensive in general. We would return and having the bar/restaurant below was a bonus for a quick lunch.

Not the cheapest but very comfortable and well appointed rooms - felt very cosy and had a great nights sleep.
Food in the bar was delicious and breakfast equally good. Friendly and helpful staff both checking in and in the bar/ restaurant.

The staff. Laura made a great work explaining us everything.

The Huntsman Inn was a good value for money and in general it met our expectations. We were travelling with a car from Dublin and the parking place at no additional money was available. The restaurant was excellent as well, highly recommend. The room was big enough and fully ok in general. The check in was a bit earlier, upon arrival, and it was smooth.
It was cold in the room when we arrived (mid December, the windows were opened). Afterwards it was getting warmer, but remained a bit cold in the bathroom. The pillows ... so so, but not awful, rather unusual.

Room was great, so was the restaurant and bar and the staff within. We stayed two nights and ate in the restaurant both nights.
Road noise was significant, although two sets of double glazed windows helped. However when it got hot there was no cooling in the room apart form opening the windows and letting the noise in. Also the in-room wifi was pathetic. Worked nicely downstairs so it must of been an issue with our room in particular. Needs a booster in there I think.

The Restaurant
The reception was a bit rough as there was no one at the reception and there was no response to our ringing. We were briefed on this in a not so friendly tone. The staff in the restaurant, on the other hand, were very friendly, It was not possible to have breakfast before 8.30 am, unfortunately.
While the hotel made such an anonymous impression on us, it was also partly renovated and the price-performance ratio was not quite right.

The bar, loung and restaurant are nicely decorated and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I stayed in room 214. Breakfast is only served from 830am onwards which is muct too late for service to begin. That schedule does not meet business needs. I typically expect breakfast to be available from 700 or at least 730am. I was checking out at 8am for a business meeting locally and was unable to avail of my paid breakfast. The rooms appear good at first glance but do show signs of wear and tear and insufficient detailed cleaning. ( Tile grout & silicon sealant grubby, upholstery & carpet stained, window latches loose not functioning correctly, clothes iron stained and unusable, Tiles missing and loose in bathroom ( under sink ) , paint damaged, chipped, stained, stair carpet not properly vacuumed )

Easy to get to on transit line. Prompt service from staff. Able to adjust room temperature, spacious, quaint feel to the Inn. Had all the amenities like at home. Attached to the restaurant for easy access and were able to meet with friends there for a pint and a chat.
Our TV remote malfunctioned. There was no staff available in the evening to assist. We wrote a note explaining the issue. Instructions were left for us, however it was determined that indeed the remote wasn't working. The staff member then replaced it right away.

Staff was friendly.
The surfaces were worn (carpet, upholstered chair in room). Bathroom tile had dirty appearance (shower was moldy).

Very beautiful and clean room.
Slightly smell from the below restaurant's kitchen in the room. Location far from city center, you need bus to go there.

Location was excellent.
Very noisy, could hear people next door, paper-thin walls resulting in no sleep. Bathroom very outdated, stale water smell, sink was leaking badly and damaged some items, Bed was small, not considered a Deluxe Room. Poor value for money, very disappointing.

Comfortable if unspectacular hotel close enough to the city center with decor that feels pretty old fashioned. But everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable, but I would expect a bit more for the price I paid, although granted it may have been a bit higher because of the Christmas holidays. All in all a nice stay in Galway.
