As snorkelers, we weren't sure if we'd fit in at a dive resort, however, our concerns were completely unfounded. Heading out on the dive boat in the mornings and exploring the reef with a guide (while the divers explored other deeper parts of the reef) was exactly the experience we were hoping for. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were somewhere different to any other resort we'd stayed at. First and foremost, the staff are what make Taveuni Dive Resort so special. HIGHLY recommend the meal plan as the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented (besides, there's no kitchen in the bures, so cooking your own food is nigh impossible... and why would you want to!?). Speaking of bures, although no air conditioning, the dual fans were sufficient to keep us cool on the hot nights. Windows are all protected with mesh, so no issues with bugs. The shower was great (best in the afternoon when water is hottest). The king (maybe super king) bed was really comfortable. It was quite a novelty for us to have a turndown service! Starlink WiFi Internet is fast, but limited to the restaurant area. Cellphone reception is present, but patchy and slow data rates.
For location, the resort is only a 15min boat ride from the reef. It's a 1.5hr drive to Lavena (one way) over some very rough dirt roads (the sealed sections are a blessing). The dive/snorkel outings are half day activities, so it's possible to do something else in the afternoon. The pool was great afterwards!
Breakfast was selected the night before (at dinner) and had a good range to choose from. The breakfasts were excellent (as was all the food!). All meals are served at the restaurant. The staff catered for gluten free (banana bread was so good). Coffee, tea and filtered water was complimentary (dairy, soy and almond milk was available). Packed lunches can also be booked the night before to pick up at breakfast if heading out for the day.
Lighting in the bures takes a bit to figure out. There's a lot of switches and it's quite dim. But if that's all I have to complain about, it really shows how good this resort is!

Great location for diving rainbow reef

It is a beautiful resort and the bures are really clean and comfortable. The food is wonderful. For us the highlights were the wonderful staff who were so warm and welcoming and the amazing snorkelling and diving experiences. The dive team are just brilliant, caring and meticulous in their attention to safety while showing us the wonders of the rainbow reef.

Lovely resort, staff so friendly and welcoming. Diving was good- good staff on the boats and very well looked after.
Food was lovely, room very comfortable and quiet. Good shower and lovely bathroom products supplied. Massage also very good.
A very nice peaceful and friendly place to stay. would happily return.
Although told about a 3% surcharge on credit card transactions didn't realise this would apply to the whole cost, not just the extras. Think there should be a note on the booking.com website to say that a 3% surcharge will apply to the quoted price.

Terrific rooms, exceptionally clean, friendly helpful staff. Dive master ratio was excellent. - often only one or two divers to a dive master. Even the canines were friendly.
Payment for all the costs of the stay was literally done minutes prior to our scheduled departure to the airport. There was no time to analyze the charges.
Often the food was not tasty.
For me, the boats, which are fine for most people, were inadequate because I have back issues. The platforms are so tiny that forward roll-ins from them are cumbersome.

We wanted a isolated place blocked away all of buzzy from noisy world, and enjoy a relaxed vacation. This is a ideal choice. We usually go snorkelling in the morning which you can see the most beautiful corals and myriad fish. In the afternoon, we hanged around pool, laid on the chair, read and listened music. The food are delicious. The staff and owner’ couple are nice and took good care of us.

Spent 6 nights here. Absolutely beautiful room and resort with incredible staff from housekeeping, F&B, driver, boat crew, diving and snorkelling guides, maintenance and entertainment. All go out of their way to ensure your holiday is wonderful. Food very good. I went out on snorkelling trip 4 times whilst my friend dove. Absolutely spectacular. We also did a couple of excursions outside of the resort.

Beautiful resort accommodation and great place to stay in Taveuni. Food was fantastic. Great to snorkel the Rainbow reef. Enjoyed every minute!
Limited transport options. Resort should provide more information about the public bus

The breakfast was fine. The only problem was the meals were inconsistent with two much pasta and rice.
We were looking for forward to fresher food.
Not having Tea/ Coffee machine in Bure instead of coming up to restaurant.

Such a lovely resort. Eco friendly, great staff, owners and food. Taveuni is a stunning island so make sure you do some tours.
We are not divers but this was not a problem. All the divers were very friendly and we had a most enjoyable time

The resort is well maintained and has all standards that are needed to enjoy Fiji and diving there.
The Food and the resort staff are amazing. You feel a very warm welcome when you arrive.
We had a Fiji Night during our stay, organized by the resort. That was a great event with live Fiji music and a 5-star Fijian food buffet. TOP!
The dive guides (some of them) could be more motivated during diving. Some of them seemed to be a bit too relaxed and it looks like they don’t have fun doing their job.
From my point of view it’s not a beginner dive spot.

The bures are just wonderful, set in a beautiful garden, restaurant with a nice view, good food and awesome cocktails. The staff will make sure you are well taken care of without being overbearing. Lovely black beach nearby. Taveuni Island is lush and beautiful. Diving is spectacular. Could have stayed much longer than 4 nights.
Nothing not to like.
