The hotel itself was nice and the grounds well maintained. There is only aircon in your room and in the stores but the rest of the hotel is open.
We had to take a boat to the island where there hotel is so once you go to this resort, you are on this resort. Remember this place is not an all inclusive and if you plan to go into town this will cost taxi etc.
The restaurant is very disappointing, we paid 40/person/day for buffet breakfast. So this is approx. 25 Canadian. It unfortunately is not worth this. Things that should be hot are cold and all the food has no taste so we stuck with fruit. As far as dinners, the first night we ordered in and I had the steak sandwich with fries. The steak was paper thin and the fries were not cooked. My husband had fish and chips and also could not finish his meal as it was not cooked all the way through. They also do not season with salt at all. The second night we shared a shareable meal of seafood. Unfortunately there was no way to get into the crab, they put a grilled fish under everything which sogged it out but the rest was good. The restaurant service this night was ok. The last night we decided to do the Fiji buffet night and the food was ok but lacked seasoning, the show was great, but the waitstaff never ever said anything to us. I tried flagging them down to order a drink, they all made eye contact but kept walking. So we were never even given water. I was not super happy about this so I decided to chat to the manager. Not cool

Safe doesn’t work, aircon doesn’t work, ceiling fans partially working. Room clean up suboptimal. Below average hotel

Our stay was very nice. Lovely people who really try to make everything perfect.
No ocean swimming here as it’s a very shallow lying area.

Great room, clean, aircon, great pool.
Beach is surrounded by river water so looks murky. Didn’t swim in it.
Buffet breakfast was hit and miss.
Staff friendly and helpful

Everything was great, except the food was marginal at best. Overcooked or raw nothing in the middle.

The prices were very high per room. The rooms were old and the outdoor deck seems rotting. Overall look was like a rundown hotel.
The swimming, poolside bar and breakfast was nice.
I left my jandals near the pool and it got missing so maybe not as safe as before.

From the greeting at the boat ramp, to our departure - The staff were genuinely friendly
We tried the buffets (Friday & Saturday) as well as Tavu - all excellent meals
Breakfast was included and also excellent variety
We slipped into ‘Fijian time’ very quickly

Location is excellent, sunsets were amazing Staff are wonderful. Food was good. Buildings and grounds seem a little neglected for the type of resort advertised.

We had a lovely family holiday the 3 of us including my partner, our 5yrs old boy and I.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect after reading a few reviews good and average but we were extremely satisfied with everything!!! Beautiful location and the staff was amazing!!!
Spotless clean and very good food!!
Kids club was just what our son wanted!!
Thank you to all the beautiful staff at Double Tree we are very thankful for all the little attentions and we’ve had the best time!!
Highly recommend!
Maybe next time we just try a different location where we can swim in the ocean but overall seriously very very happy for my first trip to Fiji ♥️

Despite the chaotic check in the staff were friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was clean but a bit tired and outdated. The buffet breakfast is extensive and well organised. The dinner options are either an unappetising buffet offered in the main restaurant or a limited menu selection in the small outdoor a la carte restaurant. The pool is large and well maintained. The beach is certainly not the best Fiji has to offer with grey sand and murky swimming conditions. Resort activities and hire equipment are very limited and not well utilised. The local surroundings are mostly residential with no shops or amenities. The journey from Nandi airport to the resort is approximately 45 minutes and costs $80 via taxi.

Loved the amazing buffet breakfast; the staff; the small things they did and the 2 singers mid afternoon. The only change I could suggest is to make a disabled ramp from the main lobby to the pool rather than having to go back out the front and around. Also maybe a few kayaks; SUP's etc out front (and advertised better) Apart from that I couldnt fault this resort. Would def stay here again. The service was exceptional.

30 years plus resort. No nice beach to access. Place needs lots of updates. Toilet seat broken. Expensive to buy drinks & food.
Slow catering service.

Fantastic room (we had a beachfront bure) which was very spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view. However the food let the property down, especially for a vegetarian. There's a confusing choice of buffet and a la carte restaurants, which you are told you need to reserve but when you turn up are sometimes closed. For some reason vegetarian options cause a lot of difficulty. One one night when the a la carte was fully booked we had not choice but the buffet restaurant but it was butcher night which for a vegetarian meant very few options: the salad had run out, there were no potato fries/weges left and the grilled vegetables were on a platter with the BBQ meat swimming in meat juices. The next day for the a la carte menu when I booked a table at lunchtime and said I was vegetarian I was told I would need to come at lunchtime to pre-order so they could make something vegetarian for me. It was all very confusing and a shame because, like I say, the room was beautiful.

Wonderful stay - excellent staff.
We used a taxi driver we made friends with at the airport to keep trips into town more cost effective and love coming back to DoubleTree each night after our daily activities. The rooms were comfortable and the island provided a very relaxing 3-day escape.

The purpose for our trip was to relax and unwind and this was a perfect place to do exactly that, although they offered activities we were only there for a short stay and the atmosphere and weather suited unwinding and relaxing perfectly. Food options are a little limited but the buffet breakfast was lovely and highly recommend the omelettes . Food and drinks are a little pricey but overall we had a lovely stay and a big shout out to Vera who looked after our room who went above and beyond make sure we had whatever we needed and our room was nice and clean each day, thank you Vera..

What a fabulous place to log out of your daily grind and just relax. It has no beach but you don’t need one as the pool area is divine. Food is delicious and staff are amazing. Will definitely be making a return trip.
Great place for singles, couples or families.

Dining options were average at best. Breakfast was ok but dinner options very poor. Property also starting to become dilapidated due to age and limited maintenance. The hotel is however good value for money and is reasonably well located being just outside Nadi.

Ants in the room, had to throw my small $32 pizza away, because the ants ate it overnight before I did.
Room was not that clean.
Overall set up at beach was beautiful.
They charged my room for alchohol-which I do not drink.
As well as charged me twice for dinner, that I had already paid for. I still need to clear that up because I tossed the receipt.
The dinner was mmeeh, they forgot about the pizza, and brought it at the end of the meal. So called spicy fries was just regular fries.
Other than that, it was a beautiful location.
Getting on the boat to get to the hotel was cool.

The staff are amazing. They remembered our names and always asked if we need anything. The food is great. The pool area and the ocean view from the room is stunning. There is a beach access but we spent most time in the pool or just reading in front of the ocean.

This is a beautiful and peaceful resort with really wonderful staff who are friendly and helpful. Our bure was spacious, clean, and well laid out. We loved the pool and the lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. The various activities they offered were a nice addition to the day. My kids especially enjoyed watching coconuts being harvested. I would also recommend taking the day trip to the Navua River to see more of the island and learn about Fijian culture.

DoubleTree Resort is very nice if you want to relax. There is nothing to do if you want to explore around/near the resort.

Middle range resort reflected in the price. Kids club was lacking. Facilities have been run down a little and mgmt are currently doing up parts of the property. Dinner choices lacking as the resort is isolated. Most staff very nice.
