Location fabulous!
When I arrived the (perfectly friendly) man at the desk stayed sitting back in his chair - it just didn’t look good. It would have created a much better impression if he had worn a shirt and tie.
Breakfast in the morning was disappointing.
It took 30 mins for our breakfast to arrive after we ordered. I ordered toast and asked for marmalade. It came without butter (I assumed that butter would come automatically). When I asked for butter the waitress took some unused from another person’s tray - really not good!
The easy chair in the downstairs lobby is rather worn.
I expected superb service at Leander Club. It was all just a bit ‘under par’. Such a shame.

Rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely
We had booked a superior king room with bath and shower. Unfortunately our room only had a shower. Did ask for a room with both bath and shower but they were not able to accommodate us. Another couple had the same problem.

You stay at leander because of your heart, rather than your head. The history and tradition of the place is incredible and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The tradition and history makes it feel rather old, but that's the point. It's great to be surrounded by all the tradition and athletic achievement. Quite unique.
Facilities are a little dated. Very clean but older fittings. Eg shower is not adjustable in height. Probably built with a six foot six rower In mind.
Staff are polite and pleasant but not very engaging, and seldom seen. It's not particularly well hosted (greeted and checked in by a third party security guard) and it seems that staff are a little thin on the ground.

Great location and great staff.

Lovely breakfast in a lovely lounge, comfy room, great location. Great rowing memorabilia
4.3
Good location, great breakfast, Bed comfortable , toilet and shower fantastic.
reception poorly staffed, generally no one there. The room was very dated, in need of urgent refit ( wall paper hanging unattached to wall) the whole room discoloured by years of heavy smoking.
4.3
Incredible location. Incredible venue.

very classy! history of the rowing club leant a very dignified air
nothing, all good.

lift.
staff were insular, from reception through to contact with others the only exception was the housekeeping lady. very professional. wWanting a relaxing break this hotel seemed ideal, river views etc. the only lounge area with a view was in the bar area. Having settled after breakfast we ended up surrounded by noisy staff having breakfast. Having moved to another corner with no view they came and took away our table for lunch to be served. Very disappointed and would hardly recommend the hotel for a relaxing break. The room had no chair only a very shaker stool. Toiletries consisted of a small bar of soap and body wash/gel. No shampoo or conditioner. I have stayed in guest houses with more attention to detail. The best thing about the hotel was leaving for the Railway Station
4.3
Magnificient view from room; outstanding breakfasts; very friendly and helpful staff.
Cannot be helped in an old building, but one must be prepared for plenty of walking along corridors and up and down staircases.
4.3
Location good, been to many regattas over the years.
Dinner was good, only lacking a soup spoon and butter for roll.
Dining room not really warm enough for time of year.
Staff friendly.
Breakfast was good, full English. Butter available but no toast etc.
Waiter was very busy and hard working but would have been better with help.
Bed too firm, but that’s probably me.
Door lock on room seemed difficult occasionally.

Great location, lovely room & ensuite and excellent staff. 2 minute walk into town across the bridge, but very quiet. Excellent choice for breakfast all freshly cooked.
Orange juice not from concentrate would be a nice touch.
4.3
Perfect location for visiting Henley & Marlowe and good full English breakfast included
Traditional and Old fashioned , not at all posh as everyone we met told us ! quite a dull interior and dated , limited evening food menu , small tv in room , unfriendly not a welcoming host. It was off season but still would’ve been nice to feel welcome and thanked for visiting .

This little gem is the heartland of the United Kingdom's rowing scene. It is full of memorabilia and people connected to ongoing rowing success. Every corner is a photo, cartoon or some object connected to the rowing activities sourced out of the club, including of the 5 times Olympic medallist, Sir Steve Redgrave. Yet there was no pretension about the place. It also comes with a hidden library and of course a gym. Importantly for those just out of Heathrow, it has it's own parking and is only 30-45 minutes from Heathrow, yet feels like the middle of the country.

Breakfast was excellent.waiter was very helpful.

Perfect location for a long weekend in Henley. Plenty of parking. Very comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Good breakfast.
It is not a hotel so don’t expect to be waited on hand and foot but the price and location more than make up for this.
4.3
The location was very good with river views and it's a short walk into Henley .
The path in from the road wasn't well lit from the main road towards the hotel entrance.
4.3
We had river view, which was great. The location for Henley is great and very comfortable bed. PLUS probably one of the best full english I’ve had in years, the black pudding was excellent.
4.3
The location was perfect. The accommodation was comfortable and interesting . The food was outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful .

Beautiful view of the grounds.
Everything was superb.
4.3
Breakfast excellent and we ate in the restaurant on the night of our stay and food was very good.
Wi-fi code in room, had to go down to reception to ask for it.
4.3
location and prestige
although I stated that it was my birthday there was no acknowledgment or a note left in my room, the confirmation of my booking was incorrect which was then corrected causing confusion and repeat calls
4.3
Location of the breakfast room, excellent selection, tasty food and substantial portions.
Nothing really that we did not like
4.3
Ideal location right on the Thames and just across the bridge from all the shops, bars and restaurants of Henley. Nice room overlooking the river and excellent breakfast.
The decor is a little tired and dated but then again it is an historic rowing club not a hotel! Reception is not 'manned' very often but the staff we met were still friendly.
