Domus Le Postali was placed right by the beach, and the hosts Bianca, Guiseppe, and Marco were so helpful (and in the downstairs apartment when needed). The semi-private beach could be accessed for free at any time, and there were a selection of bars nearby, but they were not noisy at all (no blaring music, etc) as it is mainly a local Italian destination. The property is tucked away in a cove at the bottom of a steep hill which gives it its fantastic character, but there is a cheap shuttle bus every half hour if you don't fancy climbing it, and the small town of Vico Equense has all the services you need, plus cheap, frequent train services to Sorrento, Pompeii etc. And the property was absolutely spotless! Can't praise our stay enough.
I can't fault the place. Some people may not like the hill, but as said earlier, the shuttle bus takes care of that.

Vico Equense is a little town in the Gulf on Naples - not so shiny as the hotspots on the Amalfi coast, but also a bit quieter, very authentic with rather few tourists (note we visited it in February, i.e. off-season) but very conveniently located to reach all the places you want to visit there (Pompei, Herculaneum), either by car (big advantage: parking lot available) or by train (10-15min walk if you do not mind walking uphill), a few restaurants.
The flat is right next to the little beach and harbour (where you have a splendid view on Vesuvius) - it is neat, super clean, has a unique atmosphere with its vaulted, natural stone ceiling and is nicely decorated in countryhouse style, newly refurbished and equipped with next to everything you need for a short stay (including central heating for cooler and air conditioning for hot days).
Ideal for four persons (family, less so probably two couples) with option for a fifth bed in the living room / open space kitchen. For warmer days, the terrace with a view over beach, harbour and the cliffs above invites you to stay outside and to enjoy the sun (in February, from about late morning to more the early afternoon as the coast faces northwards).
What was really great was the friendliness - different to many other places where we stayed we had a full welcome package with everything ranging from coffee, tea, milk, bread&butter to even fresh oranges, lemons and delicious home-made orange marmelade and limoncello liquor - thanks to our host's grandmother!
Very few things to improve in fact (perhaps a dishwasher, everything else is available).
Things we did not mind but may be relevant for other guests:
- not suitable for families with very young children as the staircase is not secured (no problem if they can master stairs already), or ask for a security bar (we did not check whether this was available)
- located at second floor without elevator, i.e. not suitable for handicapped persons or ones with difficulties walking up the stairs
- the parking lot (as well as driving in general in the Naples region and the Amalfi coast) is a bit of a test for your abilities as a driver; Golf/Focus/Astra station wagon is still ok, anything beyond not recommended - the smaller the better (Fiat 500 of course ideal - what else?)
