About this cabin rental
Check Out our Cabin- It was Featured in Winston Salem Monthly Magazine November 2017 issue!
Our unique Cabin is a 3 bd, 3 ba with en suite/family room and comfy sofa bed for a fourth bedroom option. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Wifi, TV cable & Netflix, Amazon & Hulu. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry, large porches, great grill and wonderful secludedness. Lovely for a small family gathering to a magical stay-cation!
Our lodge was originally a small cabin, built in the 1930's. It is a modern equipped Home , with Ac/heat, and electric stove range and dishwasher yet still has all the original cabin charm from its birth. . it was kept in possession by the same family and in-laws and wasn't truly updated until the last few years. All the stone fireplaces and foundation you will see is original beautiful rock from our local and Historic Hanging Rock National Park.
The Property itself is nestled back away from the road down a long private drive in the woods. We do have neighbors but no one is that close. So if you want the feeling of getting away to the middle of practically nowhere, but be able to get to all the local hangs of Downtown, Arts District, Reynolda Village and Gardens, Wake Forest University which is only a mile away and major grocery stores including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, in 10 min or less then you will enjoy staying here!
Beautiful views of oak trees and pines, and a great place to watch deer and sometimes see a few ground hogs foraging around. The cardinals and yellow finches are breathtaking and you are bound to have memorable mornings here sipping coffee or tea on one of our 3 beautiful stone porches!
The cabin has a special personality and loves to be admired and appreciated! With a cabin comes quirks sometimes even if everything is updated and modern conveniences are provided don’t be surprised if occasionally you come across a spider or a cobweb. They work fast and sometimes faster than we can clean. And we clean a lot!
With that said, We hope you leave your stay here feeling refreshed and treated well.

This was a gem in Winston-Salem. Old historic property that has been well cared for through the generations. The hosts were nearby and accessible but not intrusive in any way. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again if it’s available!

I can not say enough about Megan and her willingness to accommodate our family

This was a family road-trip with my two younger brothers and dad. We wanted to stay in a place close to hiking trails and also close enough for my daughter to visit so Winston-Salem was our choice.
Meagan’s place was close enough in the city but still enjoyed the cabin feel. This place was fabulous! We would definitely opt to stay here again. Plenty of room for us to stretch our legs and enjoy the multiple patio areas.

I wanted to do something special for my daughter before her wedding. Didn't want to stay in a stuffy hotel room for 5 nights. The Majestic Getaway was the perfect place to relax with my family. A true hidden gem near Wake Forest Univ. Thanks to the owner's for their hospitality. We made memories that will last a lifetime. 5 STARS!!

Such a great house! We used this rental as home base for family and friends for daughter's wedding weekend. Private bedrooms, awesome bathrooms, large indoor gathering areas, multiple large porches and well-maintained outdoor areas, well-equipped kitchen. Restaurants and shops close by but private beautiful setting. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the cabin! There's plenty of room in the house, both bedrooms and common areas. Plenty of parking and convenient location near Wake Forest University. There was prompt communication with the host throughout the booking process and our stay.

Unique Property great location
This house was so unusual and fun. Rustic but well kept. Lots of antiques and charm. I think the place is better suited to adults…there are things that feel easily breakable if you have real little ones or rambunctious kiddos. Also our boys were concerned that maybe there were ghosts. Hahaha. They got over it and had fun. Great location - short distance from Pilots Mountain and Hanging Rock.

A quiet retreat
The "cabin" was a wonderful place to stay to recharge in solitude yet within easy reach of some of the best Winston Salem has to offer. The accommodations easily allowed for 4 adult (and another room available still with two single beds) to have their privacy and enjoy the common spaces, inside and outside, together. It is set in the woods and nestled amongst beautiful plantings (front Eastern Red Bud was in bloom) and azaleas, red and white, abutting the entry way. You are a short distance from Reynalda House and Village and the wonderful grounds adjacent to the Wake Forest Undergraduate campus, and just a bit further away from restaurants and shops.
For those looking to get away from the standard stays while being near what you need in Winston Salem, this is a wonderful place to stay. You have outside barbecue and sitting porch and a sitting room with TV. Internet was solid and easily accessed. Highly recommended!

Close-by Convenience... Faraway Feeling
Possibly more quaint than the pictures depict, we have the loveliest stay including an intimate, catered dinner party; every guest wanting to learn how to rent it themselves... within 10 min of arriving, we booked it for our daughters graduation 15 months out.

Quaint, rustic cabin in convenient location
We were very happy with the location of this property for our stay. It is very spacious, well equipped, and has a lot of character. The house is zoned and the air conditioners kept it very comfortable in the middle of summer. The kitchen is very spacious and has everything you could need for cooking. We enjoyed making bread during our stay. We found the grounds to be very peaceful and enchanting.
Megan, the host, is incredibly kind. She is very easy to work with and responsive. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your vegetable garden.

Oasis of Rustic Tranquility
What a treat it was to stay here. It really is a log cabin -- not the hipster Aspen-kind, rather the rustic kind full of charm and character. It's nestled way back in the expansive backyard of a home very close to Wake Forest University, so surrounded by lush trees and bushes and azaleas in full bloom that no other houses were visible, including the main house. Coffee houses, restaurants, and shops were all only a very short drive away -- but really why would you leave? We hosted a group of 8 or so in the nicely sized dining room adjacent to the full kitchen. We made full use of the rocking chairs both day and night. And slept in blissful peace as if we'd made the trip to some far corner of the Smoky Mountains.
Meagan was a wonderfully respectful and accommodating host, and as friendly as can be.
Highly recommended.

Charming, cozy cabin
This cozy, charming cabin offered plenty of room for our family of seven in a private setting, but was conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. The outdoor areas were relaxing, offering several decks with seating, rocking chairs and a porch swing. Hosts were extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!!

The property is adorable and owners are awesome!
Meagan was super great to deal with and even made us fresh coffee and left us a bottle of wine to celebrate our occasion. So thoughtful! The house is quirky but very cool. All the girls loved it! And the location is great, super convenient to everything we were doing while in town. Highly recommend

I simply loved the kitchen and did a lot of cooking/baking.
Too many levels (steps) for older adults and no handrails.

Amazing cabin in the woods.
We had a lovely time here at the cabin. It’s updated, clean, and has all the modern amenities but with the charm of a rustic cabin. And it’s super big and well decorated. Way more cabin than any of us expected. We had big meals and just loved the family time. Close to civilization...yet feels tucked away in the woods. My three teenage daughters loved it. We will come back for sure. Meagan and Wade were excellent hosts.

Escape to quiet cabin
Wonderful large secluded cabin in wooded surroundings but very close to town. Very clean, lots of room, owners close by to answer questions. We 3 siblings met here for a COVID-safe get together, bringing and cooking our own meals, grilling, fire pit, football watching, table games and puzzles, and a few geocaching hikes. Great relaxing weekend in a lovely quiet cabin.

Thanks Megan for a great stay!
Cabin was huge - much larger than expected and with each bedroom on a different level so plenty of privacy. The cabin has loads of character and some really nice design features. Plus all the amenities and conveniences you’d hope for when traveling. Appreciated how clean it was given the health concerns at present. We enjoyed the back porch in particular. Megan couldn’t have been easier to work with or more helpful. We’ll be back for sure.

Exactly What I Needed
The property has wonderful features, was cleaned and well prepared, and the owners were accessible and quick to respond. The most surprising element to the property was its close proximity to civilization. Although it felt serine and remote, it was actually very close to the town. We loved that.

Beautiful log cabin close to WFU
We visited for a weekend to tour the Wake Forest University campus snd see a basketball game there. We had a wonderful visit, the host checked in on us and helped us restock firewood for the living room fireplace. She told us about the history of the property and the previous owners. We are very excited to plan our next visit to this beautiful cabin!

Little House on the Prarie Retreat
Our family has been out of our home due to some home repairs and needed a place to stay for two weeks. We were delighted to find this special cabin filled with so much history and charm. We felt right at home and enjoyed the feeling of being in the mountains while right in town. We have four children and they each shared a room. Our favorite room was the upstairs room the girls stared. Each room in the house felt cozy and inviting because of the way the house is made with beautiful logs and large wooden doors that helped keep things quiet if needed. The back porch with rocking chairs was a favorite place to sit and read or play and we loved the large dining table and fireplaces in each room. We even lost electricity from a storm for about 24 hours and there were plenty of candles to provide light and a cozy feel to the cabin.
Megan and Wade have done a great job decorating the cabin simply and beautifully fitting for the cabins personality. We also enjoyed the privacy and space for the kids to run around and explore outside. It is a really special unique place!
We have already recommended this to friends.
