About this house rental
From your first steps onto this property, you know you are looking at something special. Before you even enter the house, there will be no question that staying in a historic home of this stature is a rarity. A product of a prominent local architecture firm of its time, this residence has been carefully renovated to retain the original charm of 1916 and preserve history, while including modern updates and conveniences.
The home sits on a charming street downtown, and as a guest, you will get the unique opportunity of being situated between a sprawling city park with a gazebo and mature trees, and award winning restaurants and breweries. The location allows for the convenience of being in the middle of everything fun without the noise of being in the center of downtown.
The decor of the home compliments the antiquity, so you feel as if you are in a different era. Large, beautiful windows are found throughout the home, making it bright and open and allowing for great views of this enchanting neighborhood. As a guest, you will enjoy some of the property’s original features, such as the the tongue-and-groove heart pine floors, wood doors, brass knobs, and original pale yellow tile surrounding the firebox (to name a few). The spaciousness of this 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house allows for the chance to get away while still providing the comforts of home. It is large enough that everyone can stay together under one roof, but with the bedrooms spanning three floors, there is enough space for you and your traveling companions to spread out. If you wish to stay in and cook, the kitchen has brand new appliances and all the utensils, pots/pans, small appliances - and even spices- you need to make breakfast, lunch or dinner! You can eat together in the adjacent dining room or spread out into the nearby sunroom and watch television.
You will appreciate tasteful touches throughout the home that make this an extra special getaway. Everything you might need to feel comfortable are at your disposal, including freshly laundered towels and sheets, cozy blankets, a sound machine, laundry room with washer/dryer and detergent, comfortable beds and K-Cups to go with the Keurig. For those traveling with babies, we also provide a crib, changing table, baby bathtub and high chair for your convenience. There is even a place to work on the third floor, with a desk off the loft’s bedroom. In addition, there are three reserved parking spots and on-street parking.
To maintain the quality of this home and keep a hypoallergenic environment, there are no pets allowed. Smoking, drugs and parties are not permitted.
We would love for you to add to the many memories that have already been made here. Our entire team is here to serve you, so let us know if we can help!

My housemates and I were attending a conference at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston Salem. The house was an excellent alternative to a hotel for our stay. It was really close to the downtown, Old Salem, and loads of great restaurants and shops. The house itself is super charming with loads of history and character. The park literally next door was icing on the cake.

Very accommodating for the graduation celebration. It was very close to restaurants and cafe’s. It was close to graduation venue and to the campus. I loved the walk ability of the neighborhood the house was located.

The home was a wonderful, convenient spot for our family to gather as our son was married at a downtown church

This place was great. It's in a fantastic area with plenty of parking, but an easy walk to tons of cute shops and restaurants. It was the CLEANEST VRBO I've ever stayed in. The kitchen and bathrooms were nicely stocked.
It should be noted that the place is old, and has some of the quirks that go with an older place. I would not recommend this for someone with a disability - you need to be able to maneuver some stairs and odd turns.
The one bit of criticism I have is that it could use a little maintenance - notably the mattresses tend to lack a bit of oomph, the water barrier in my shower was falling down which caused a lot of water leakage, and the couch in the downstairs TV room really needs to be overhauled - it's pretty much unsittable. But these were minor issues and overall the place was just lovely.
We had five couples travelling for a family event. I would stay here again in a second if I had a similar need.

This house was perfect for our girls weekend away. We each had our own room and also wonderful common spaces to spend time together. The home is so close to many restaurants and shops and we enjoyed exploring the city. Easy check in, clean, easy communication!

We had a small problem and the owners were very quick to respond and apologetic. They even brought over a delicious local pastry. The park next to the home was perfect for the grandkids. The cafe across the street had great prices and food.
Beautiful old historic home.

This house has so much character and was well stocked for all our needs. The location is great with options to walk to several good West End restaurants. Definitely recommend!

The home was just as described (if not better), and the location was great!

We enjoyed our stay in this large, beautiful historic home. The historic part means the windows leak a lot of cold air when it's cold outside, and the heat struggled our first day/evening and couldn't get above 65 degrees inside on the first floor. But the bedrooms got warmer (the thermostat is in the living room) and the next few days were fine. The kitchen is very well-stocked, and everyone found the beds very comfortable. Easy walk to places downtown-- some restaurants and bars are within only a block or two.

This is an old, well-maintained property in an historic neighborhood full of trees, The property is clean, well equipped, and was very comfortable for our group. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are several very nice restaurants less than a block away, and a small, beautiful city park across the street. If you are walkers, you can walk downtown for some fun shopping. The property is also very close to Reynolda House/Village and SECCA.

This was a great house for a cousin reunion. Good restaurants and parks within walking distance. The house was quiet and comfortable. It reminded us of our grandmother's house only with modern kitchen.

Perfect Perch for Our WFU Graduation Weekend
Everything was better than expected (and I have big expectations). The location is absolutely ideal. Quiet neighborhood, next to a park, BUT so close anything you'd want: cafes, restaurants, retail, the YMCA, etc. So well appointed: all the modern conveniences in a house dripping with history. Five stars across the board.

Very Special Property
This is a beautiful, well-maintained, well-appointed unit in an excellent location in downtown Winston-Salem. We stayed while we were in town for my daughter's wedding, and it proved the perfect place for family to flow in and out. It is so well laid out and equipped that we had everything we needed for a wonderful, memorable stay.

It was exactly what we needed
We booked this house because we needed a house big enough for a family shower with 20+ guests. There was plenty of comfortable seating and the round table in the dining room was a great size for the buffet.
The communication was outstanding, in fact they were proactive in asking how things were going through an email and it allowed me to respond back without having to go through the app.
The house was charming and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall a very good experience
We had a wonderful stay and all our needs were met as we feel they went above and beyond our expectations! Each room was clean and supplied with all the necessities for our 3 night stay. We loved how there were extra toiletries in case you forgot something or were not able to run to the store immediately. The kitchen was perfectly supplied for your basic needs. We were a party of 7 and had more than enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. The upgrades made to this beautiful old home made all the difference. We would definitely rent this lovely home again if we were to venture back out this way!

Beautiful home
We were visiting Winston-Salem to visit family. This house was a highlight in itself. It's obviously old, and someone did a wonderful job of selecting the perfect furniture and decor to emphasize the historical look. Plenty of space for everyone, and the beds were very comfy. Lots of thoughtful touches, like soap, hotel-size shampoos, and snacks in the dining room. The little park on the other side of the driveway was perfect for getting out and stretching the legs in the fresh air. We appreciated having the basic cookware, some herbs and spices, and several settings of plates, bowls, and cups. Publix is one mile away. The property manager was very quick to answer messages. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

Great Historic Charm; Comfy beds!
This is a great house for a family. It has an aura of importance but it's very comfortable. The location is primo... walking distance to west side shops, 5 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Wake Forest (Go Deacs!). We had planned on having 10 family members for Wake graduation, but COVID required us to limit our numbers. It would have been such a fun place to all gather and celebrate. The three of us who came really enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds. Lovely bathrooms. Well stocked Kitchen. Would recommend for any groups visiting W-S. Thanks!

My wife and I and other members of our extended family all met in Salem-Winston for a family members wedding. We were looking for a place large enough to accommodate our group, plenty of bathrooms, space to spread out, and a fun neighborhood. This property met all requirements. We had a lot of fun in this house. It is a historical home, so there are so many fun things to investigate and actual character to enjoy. The living areas a plenty spacious so you can get a large group together and not feel crowded. The neighborhood is really fun to walk around, and there are plenty of eating options nearby (though FYI most everything is closed on Sunday afternoon). There is plenty of parking space (we had three cars, and there was still room for visitors to park). It is very quiet (except for the birds come pre-dawn :)).Overall our group could not have asked for a better place to stay. We all enjoyed ourselves. Two items to mention, the property could do with the addition of a smaller pan in addition to the very large pan already provided. While the use of the extra clothes hanging rack was very much appreciated, it would probably be even better to have two of them. Small mentions, but thought they might be helpful.

Gorgeous renovated home; great communication
The house has been lovingly restored. Most amenities were available (only extras would be tissues and napkins, but not a big deal). Thoughtful touches like sound machines and lap blankets were appreciated. Huge house for the 4 of us (we didn't use 2 bedrooms and 1 bath!) Ample parking with an outdoor outlet for our electric car. I asked for restaurant recommendations and received some excellent ones. All in all an excellent stay away from home for a few days.

Stunning stay in downtown Winston Salem
We stayed at the Grace Court house over Christmas week, seven family members and friends, to be near my son’s family for the holidays. It could not have been more pleasant! The home itself is immaculate and exactly as described and depicted in the photos. The detail in which the home is prepared for guests was perhaps the best I’ve experienced: basics for cooking were all there : olive oil, over a dozen spices, butter, flour, a variety of sizes of plastic bags for keeping food as well as foil and plastic wrap. Coffee, both Keurig and regular. Brand new appliances. Most impressive were the items for babies—a crib, play-pack, extra small mattress and tub seat. We had a wonderful mini-family reunion and made lifetime memories for an outstanding Christmas holiday with family!
