Our waiter, and I am so sorry I can't remember how to pronounce his name, it start with a J and he's 27, originally from Esmeraldas. He was amazing and kind and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and those views?! Can't be beat, our driver Elizabeth was beyond kind and amazing too! What a beautiful experience!
Really the only odd thing was an older man opened our room door and then quickly shut it, I think he was giving a tour of the rooms. Totally understandable mistake, helped me to remember to lock the door. :) the only other thing I didn't like was that we didn't have more time there ;)

A special hotel with an amazing vista just north of Quito. Quiet location, nice restaurant and lovely spacious suite rooms.
Great hotel so didn’t dislike anything but it could be difficult to get to without a car.

Amazing views - a room upgrade is definitely worth the price. Huge rooms that are very clean.
The food is a little pricey and there are no alternatives due to the location.

Location, room size
Paid for rom with a view got given a room on ground floor with a tree to look at. Asked to go to a higher floor to actually get a view and they charged me more.
Check in was rude. Seemed to be one person handling restaurant and check in, so it took ages. Then when he went back to get keys for the higher room he disappeared for twenty minutes leaving me waiting. I eventually found him waiting on tables again. Considering it was also raining and I was wet through, I really didn;'t want to be shuttling to and from trying to get a key for a room. Really awful service (and totally humorless).

i loved the window to view the crater. They upgraded me for $10.
We really enjoyed the quality of the food served.
Overall the room was very accommodating. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Well, what can I say, I was surprised I had altitude sickness the next day. I check the difference between Quito and El Crater and it was similar to the altitude of Cusco.
Anyway, we had some problems with the hot water. It finally started working though 10 minutes later.

The size of the room with its own lounge and the view to the crater from bed. Simple but elegant decoration. Excellent bed size and comfort. Service staff was very attentive.
Cashier staff very rude and arrogant. Drinking wine with their friends and didn't even bother to ask us if we were ok or needed water at least. At check out, overcharged us saying that we stayed in a better room than booked and were barked at for asking why and declining to pay extra. We were never asked if we wanted that room despite the higher price. Although hotel wasn't fully booked. They could have simply honoured the original rate or ask before letting us sleep in the allegedly more expensive room.
