location
a little dated, weak wifi

Except the lady from the reception, everything was disagreeable. The hotel is old and it smells like it. When you open the window in the room, you immediately feel the exhaust from the restaurant crossed the street. For the amount we paid is a no-go!

nothing the only thing was a great cafe directly across the road
well below basic

the internal corridors and hallways haven't been refurbished since the 70s, however, the rooms are large, comfortable, and clean.
the owner/manager is a stereotype from an old French Noir film, very nice, quick with a smile, and happy to help.
The beds were comfortable, the water in the shower was hot, and you couldn't find a more central location if you tried.
15 minute walk (with all our luggage and 3 cats) to the Ferry terminal, 5 minute walk from the Train Station.
The internal hallways and rooms need a renovation.
The stairs are uneven and the floors are not level.
It's not a big deal if you like a bit of "character" in your hotels though, and as i said - the rooms themselves are great.

Old style... Not a chain. Privately owned ? Older building. Extremely well positioned in Cherbourg, very close to the (inner?) Harbour. The owner is a very pleasant older lady, not much English, but I have very limited French ! So that's not a criticism ! Continental breakfast at extra charge. Many cafe bars and restaurants nearby, good food at reasonable prices, and nice staff. A relaxed area, delightful
Hotel a little tired. This didn't bother me at all, but some people may not see past that to the charm that I personally liked
