It is a beautiful old hotel in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, with history by the bucket full. The facilities are fully updated, the food is lovely, and it has a very large carpark. I frequented it in my twenties., now aged 80, living in North Wales.

The staff were really good, and the room was comfortable. When I am in the area, I will stay again.
I was there on a Monday evening and I needed a sandwich, not a full meal and that was unavailable, that was a shame, not a deal breaker.

Nothing. Everything was first class.

A lovely welcoming hotel. Beautifully fitted out with lovely furniture and pictures etc. The food was very good and good value. The staff were all pleasant and as the restaurant was busy were working very hard, but still found time to be pleasant.
Just the weather!

Stunning room, breakfast was delicious and great bar staff. Overall great stay.
Receptionist not welcoming, I requested a upper room as travelling solo. Requested a reason. Was asked what time I’d arrive back that evening as it wasn’t 24 hours. Felt like I was on a curfew, clock watched the whole evening. Spoilt my stay.

The Hotel. It's a beautiful hotel located in the countryside overlooking Manchester. Everything is spotless; the staff is friendly and helpful; and the breakfast is excellent.
Although the hotel was pleasant in all aspects, I had a negative experience with Room 2's Double bed. The springs were protruding through the mattress, but we had failed to inspect it upon arrival due to our late arrival at midnight. It seemed unreasonable to lodge a complaint at that hour. However, in the morning, after settling my bill, I mentioned the issue to the receptionist. She thanked us for bringing it to her attention, but unfortunately, no compensation was offered, which left me feeling disappointed.

Beautiful location and gorgeous room which was very spacious. Breakfast was lovely and fresh.
nothing all great but the tea and coffee in the morning was cold would have been better served fresh to your table.

Beautiful room, with a comfy bed giving a wonderful night's sleep. The food in the brasserie was excellent. A Michelin Star should be awarded to the chef!! Staff were pleasant and knowledgeable, in particular, Liam.
The restaurant (not the brasserie) was very expensive, and prices were not displayed on the menu. This was a menu prepared for Whit Friday evening. When foccacia is mentioned on the menu, you would expect to see more than three little crumbs of said bread on your plate! Our meal cost £133.00, £36.00 of which was for 4 glasses of wine. Whilst we appreciate fine dining and all the effort and planning that goes into preparing beautiful meals, this was overpriced and not good value. Breakfast was nice, in particular, the creamy, salty porridge. Disappointingly, there was no fresh fruit or yoghurt on the breakfast menu, just boxes of cereals. The tea ran out and was not replenished and it was embarrassing having to ask for toast because none was presented to the table as you would expect (why have little pots of jam, honey and marmalade if there is no toast or bread!) The table service was also extremely slow. Upon leaving, we paid our bill. We booked through Booking.com, who priced our stay at £310 including breakfast. The hotel charged us £350. We noticed this when checking the bill before starting our journey home. We spoke to the receptionist, who looked through the Booking.com paperwork and found that she had overcharged us by £40. This was refunded to my card and I'm still waiting for this payment. We had no explanation as to why we were overcharged by £40. Overall, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the Whit Friday brass band contest (my band wasn't playing this year). I do, however, feel somewhat ripped off with the meal on the Friday night and the lack of compassion with the overcharging. The two night stay cost just short of £600.

We stayed in the cottages. Great location as our toddler was with us.
just that we had to walk down the road to use the facility to go for breakfast and no choice of room service.

Very friendly bar staff.
Not exactly sure but he may have been the manager who kindly told me to “Go somewhere else” after I asked for a table for one at 8.30 when the restaurant shuts at 9.30.
Dining room was almost empty apart from myself and a few others.
Rest of the staff were great.

The room was not as expected. I reserved a suite with 2 queen beds but was told that kind of room doesn’t exist.
