The model room
Quality of cooked breakfast. Mushrooms tasted like they had been cooked in water, leaving black residue all around the plate. Sausage quality was poor, size of my little finger x1. Not enough toast offered.

Amelia the receptionist extremely helpful pleasant and welcoming
We came back after a day at a family wedding, to find our room had not been cleaned. No clean towels, no toilet rolls, no de caff coffee, no milk and beds not made. When complaining about this, we were told it that if you were staying more than one night the rooms were not cleaned unless we requested it.....
Ridiculous, never have I stayed in a Best Western or any other hotel where the beds weren't made daily and towels , milk, toilet rolls etc replaced.
The only time this should happen is if the guest asks for it not to be done.

Bed. Too hard. We judge bed against Premier Inn.

Had character and the windows opened and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We expected a bar and/or restaurant or, at the very least, a vending machine, however, none of these were available and there was no nearby place to get drinks or snacks. There was clear class in the bathroom window that overlooked the garden. No lift so had to carry suitcases up to the 1st floor.

Breakfast was ok, enough provided and quality ok
Perhaps the bathrooms could be modernised at some point and the exterior looks a bit tired.
4.0
comfortable mattress
good to have an iron
nice bathroom
cleanliness was not good - hairs in bed, crumbs in bedside draws, linen was marked with stains
tea/coffee mugs also stained and tea spoons were dirty. Had them replaced but were still dirty
pool was an additional charge which is very stingy considering it's also open to the public

Pleasant friendly staff, nice food, clean, tidy
Booked a Family room, as that was what was available on Booking.com a d so looked forward to plenty of space, but had a twin room instead, as Family room was not available. Not sure if I paid for more than I got. Room was really hot and bathroom window neither closed properly or locked, so didn't feel entirely safe.

Convenient location. Staff were lovely and keen to please.
It’s looking a bit tired.
Bar area wasn’t clean - white powder on the floor, tables dirty - staff did clean the table when asked.
Missing some things that I’d expect - no soap by bath and the other soap was in secure containers so couldn’t be moved, no toilet brush, no bottles of water in the room.
Room was really cold when we first went to it. The radiator was cold despite being on high. The stand alone heater warmed the room a bit and we were given a second heater when I told them we were cold. Would have expected a warm room on arrival though.

Very convenient location for Longleat. Room a good size and shower was amazing!! Staff very friendly and helpful
Our room was extraordinarily hot, despite no heating being on. Breakfast was pretty poor - poached eggs incredible but rest of the produce was cheap and salty. We were told the pool was only open 10-6 because of being New Years Day and 2nd January and so we planned our time accordingly - miffed to see it was actually open until 8pm and then open again by 8am, meaning we missed out on swimming!

location and pool
sheets were stained there was poo in the toilet from previous and the bar didn’t have staff to open it on a Friday afternoon.

A little tired. Shower was OK.

the property itself was fine and the location was good. breakfast was good and the staff were helpful.
our room was directly above a 40th birthday party going on downstairs and the music was so load we were up until gone midnight listening to the DJ on the microphone and blaring music. we had no prior warning that there was a party on that night. the staff did all they could to try and move us but no credible solution could be found. I would suggest anyone booking enquire wether there will be a party over the duration of there stay and if there is I would avoid it. without the party downstairs the hotel was fine.
